Mont Adventure Equipment is an independent Australian company founded in Canberra in 1981. We're serious gear users and stand by our product. After years of frustrations with the poor quality of adventure clothing and equipment available, Monty had enough and made something better, something he could rely on. In 1978, using a borrowed sewing machine, he made himself a sleeping bag, down jacket and tent. Friends were impressed by his creations, and commissioned pieces. A reputation for quality gear quickly spread and in 1981 Mont Adventure Equipment was founded. While Mont has long since outgrown Monty's small unit in Canberra, Australia, he still directs the company and works closely with a passionate team on the design and testing of all Mont products. As dedicated adventurers ourselves, quality is never compromised just to save a few cents. To this day Mont Adventure Equipment is still privately owned, based in Canberra, fiercely independent and totally committed to better gear for the wild. Poor fit … expensive return - buy online at your own risk
Product was photographed poorly - made the shorts look like they were slim cut when there was a strange baggy part in the rear.
These were the same shorts as I have purchased previously - which are my favourite shorts - so this design change came as an unwelcome surprise.
The return policy requires me to pay to send them back - which cost me $11.30
All in all … reminds me of why it is a bad idea to buy clothes online … won’t be doing that again

We update our gear when we feel it is needed, and based on customers' feedback. I'm sorry the latest adjustments didn't suit your needs.
We understand that online images may not always reflect every customer’s unique fit and experience with our products. We're actively working towards showcasing our clothing on a wider range of body shapes and sizes to provide a more accurate representation. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve!
If you would like to try the shorts in different sizes, we have multiple retailers selling them around the country.

Great Australian outdoor gear company, genuine product knowledge and quality gear.
When my Tasman jacket finally died after many years of service, I was able to purchase a new version and receive interstate shipment in 3 days before the next weekend where it was needed.
I was grateful to find that this bomb-proof jacket was still being produced.

Looking for 50+ SPF clothes
I bought (one in the shop, one online) two venture sun stretch shirts both in mist colour and they are fabulous. I was specifically after a 50+ SPF shirt. The staff in the shop were very helpful when I went to have a look and hunted around for other 50+ items. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a bigger range of them. Also, there weren’t many colours in the shirt I did buy. Please could Mont do more 50+ items? But the overall experience was very smooth and the shirt I bought online arrived very quickly. They are very good quality.
