It all started with a song. In about 2013 I wrote a song - The Everything Goes Back To Normal Button. To support its release, and because it seemed like fun, I thought I'd built 50 real Everything Goes Back To Normal Buttons as merch. One button was given away on each night of the tour to whoever seemed to need it most. They sold out so quickly, and I've been asked about them so many times, I figured it was time to making more. So in 2026, Normal Buttons was born. Since then we've added a Pro model, made within an incredibly beautiful shiny enclosure. These buttons are endlessly fascinating to me. On one level, they’re completely useless. Just a metal box with a button that says Everything goes back to normal. Press it and nothing happens. A novelty. But on another, the whole thing feels imbued with some sort of mystic power to me. Press it, and all kinds of things happen. You lot have been asking me to make more of these for 13 years. There must be a reason right? I think the action of pressing connects with the ten million other times in our lives when we press a button and the thing we expect to happen, happens. The door opens. The microwave beeps. The keyboard types. This button piggy-backs on all those memories. Such a familiar object with such an unfamiliar message hijacks the brain for a moment, causing “Wait, what?” befuddlement. It must work. It’s got a button. Even with absent electronics it seems to hold some magical potential. Fun, serious, nothing, everything… what even is normal? I don’t know. It’s almost like a song, no inherent function or value and yet meaningful somehow, at least to people who are into that kind of music.

For breaking and mending
It's rare I buy an item too impulsively, but in this case I Saw Something and had to have it.
Item arrived in good time, was well packaged and both as described and how I pictured it Inside My Mind. It also feels good in my Hands and instructions in The Manual were extremely clear.
I can't yet comment on performance of the button. I am Kinda Weird and accustomed to non-normal life. I don't wish to Falter, else I may find myself Reeling and in Knots, but if the Weight On My Eyes becomes too much I'll Trace It Back and Start Again. For the moment I have put it on the Sideline.
I've hidden it in my house in case of emergency; it's currently in the cupboard next to the washing machine. If it all goes wrong and becomes too much I will push the button so that I can make effective use of The Everything Goes Back To Normal Button.
Until then - far too Many Fish To Fry.

This idea for gifts is the best! I have bought several as presents for dear friends. Such positive and uplifting a message. I am going to recommend this to anyone stuck for a gift idea. Solves those problems when buying for people who seem to have everything/ those who like something fun and totally original! 5*. Fast delivery and outstandingly great packaging. Item is so innovative and great.

Finally things can go back to normal
Very quite dispatch, item was well packaged and came with attachments to mount to the wall and a very helpful quick set-up guide. Technical support is also great and very responsive, as is the network issues feature on the website.
