Ole & Steen Avis 

I’ve been going with about 10 friends every week to the London Bridge branch since it opened. The pastries have been good, you can sit outside and the staff here are ok unlike the staff at some of the other branches eg Goodge St. - who are just plain rude.

However there seems to have been some changes over the last few months and not good changes.

For-starters at this branch they have got rid of all plates, pots and cutlery so everything is takeaway. Also it seems O&S have made changes to their pastries - all got reduced in size about 2 months ago and now the prices have gone up (having varied every week - the staff couldn’t tell me why) and 2 weeks ago the accidentally vegan raspberry and almond swirl - which was really nice - has suddenly been discontinued - again the staff couldn’t tell me why. The plant based social slice which was also pretty good has gone through some kind of cheap recipe change in the last 2 weeks - it’s now a doughy revolting inedible blurrrrgh. I’ve left it 2 weeks running because it is not pleasant.

They have also got rid of the glass counter barriers - what the…? - now when people queue they can cough and splutter over all the food.

What is going on with this company?

We went for breakfast this morning , we have never been to this establishment before, we were greeted by shah and he made the effort to explain the different options and what the different pastors were, he was pleasant and efficient and made a real effort with each customer

Had a great experience dealing with Khadija bibi at the Neal street ole and steen- went to collect a click and collect order. She was lovely and extremely helpful!

The workers were very welcoming and friendly and they worked efficiently and quickly. Their food and drink are also very nice and I would recommend it a lot

I just went into this store Ole & Steen. I have never felt so humiliated. Two of us black ladies went in. We joined to queue and waited, thinking that it was our turn we pointed to what we wanted to buy. We were ignored and everyone else who were white, were asked what they wanted. They even shouted over our shoulders to other white people who came in after us.
They make it seems as if we were not there at all. Do not go there if you’re black. I do love their pastry, but every time I go in that shop on the strand, I am made to feel unwelcome.

The customer service was really great

Out of 3 times I was in, only ONCE i got a nice customer service. The very first time, I was YELLED at by a barista because I didn’t know they didn’t do an apricot danish. I was mortified by the fact that that’s how i got treated at a quite expensive bakery. Today, 17/08/24, i got a horrible service again. The baristas messed up my order twice, I had to remind them twice of what I have ordered. I should have went to starbucks, instead.
My mum has always been served by a very very rude lady, who replied to my mum with, and I quote “It’s a Danish company, they are all Danish pastries”. Why on earth would you ever reply to a customer like that!!!
I do not recommend them at all, never coming back to them again.

Just popped in for tea and cake pre theatre and the staff were super friendly and had personalities which seems so rare in many coffee places. Thank you Eastcastle Street for the great service. 17.08.24

Great coffee house with a nice atmosphere. The sitting area is huge, open and comfortable.

Baristas make great coffee and are always pleasant.

Wait times are a bit too long during rush hours.

Good service and food

I went into Nottinghill Gate for a flat white and a sit down …had to wait while the young male barrister flirted with a female customer and then failed to make a decent flat white.. i took two mouthfuls of what tasted like mildly coffee flavoured warm milk and went back to the counter ..when i queried the quality of the drink the girl there was really rude and said i had already drunk some… eventually she reluctantly put some more coffee in the cup … customer service and awful coffee..they need some kind of training especially in the art of coffee making and good manners…will never go there again.

Staff always go that extra mile and treat their regular customers with great service.

I went to the Guildford Ole and Steen for a pot of tea and a truffled mushroom toastie. Service was great and the toastie really was melt in your mouth delicious. Wish there was a branch nearer where I live!

I never write a review but i had to do it. This place has great service and very kind staff. I really recommend it.

My experience here at ole & steen been the best by these ladies. Keep up the great work.

Charged me for my first 2 free items. I've been trying to get a refund for over a month now and the CSAs reply saying they didn't receive my email.

App is also pretty awful, the navigation is unclear.

Wigmore street store is amazing!
Shah is so friendly and efficient- always makes me a rye with gouda if they have run out!
My favourite Ole & Steen by far.
