So easy! Really fast. There is a subscription but it does say. I got my top up, deleted the subscription.. again, very easy to follow. They aren't scamming (it says clearly every four weeks renewal)

On Top Up provides an easy way to purchase topup vouchers and credit for Pay As You Go mobile phones. We cover all the major phone networks, allowing users to add multiple phones on different networks to their account, and topup whenever they need.
Please note, that any accounts that opt-in to Auto Topup will have their subscription renewed automatically each month, and for security purposes you will need to log into your account in order to apply the credit to your mobile phone.
Our optional Auto Topup service allows users to automatically buy a topup every month, to help ensure they never run out of credit on their phone(s). The Auto Topup service can be started and paused or cancelled at any time simply by clicking a button in the user account area.

Couldn't top up on O2 by phone…updated
Couldn't top up on O2 by phone yesterday. Their customer rep suggested going on O2 website. The first result on Google said O2 mobile top up...so I clicked on it, not noticing small and fainter type" ontopup " . So Im on what I think is O2, buy a top up for £30, it doesn't top up. I try again this time with customer support and am talked through the process, buy a £30 top up and the rep takes lots of extra details..Date of birth ,full name and address, card details etc. Still doesn't work because I have actually bought a voucher . At no point was this explained, neither was the admin fee of £5.67. I now have 2 debits pending for £35.67 .
I contacted octopus when I realised what happened. They say it was my responsibility to check website....fair....and that the full process would have been explained to me as well as the admin costs and that I must have ticked a box saying I agree to their terms and conditions. No I didn't. The web page has header O2 and ontopup only appears right at the bottom of the page. They have taken one payment already but say they won't take any more and have given me the pin number to redeem the voucher.
I know I should have looked harder but I really thought it was a O2 website. Disingenuous if not actually outright fraud. Very upsetting.
They took took another payment despite saying they wouldn't

This website is a scam
This website is a scam. if you use them to top up your pay as you go, they keep your card details and start charging you on a monthly basis. They did this to me and I found out that they are scamming many people. There is even a Guardian newspaper article about them. I'm still waiting for them to refund me the money they have taken from my bank account without my consent. This is criminal
