I AM 78, THERE A OLD SAYING THAT I WISH I HAD STUCK TO THROUGH THE YEARS, AND IT IS

I was tempted to log on and sign up, but after reading a few reviews, especially about the millions of pounds they make a year, it sounds like a money-making organisation. There's nothing wrong with making a profit, but when you're making millions, there has to be a catch.

I thought I'd give this a second go as I withdrew (or tried to) from a previous survey after a few questions but got a letter asking me to complete. However, the first questions were about my home ownership status and how I heat the house - suspiciously like the kind of data that might be sold on commercially. With more clarity on how these data relate to a health survey I'd be happier. Also I'd like to be able to see all the questions at the beginning of the survey, so that I don't enter info and later on decide I don't want to respond.

i joined but then cancelled, Cancellation was made as hard as possible, Reasons were they are using non nhs blood testing facilities and expecting me to travel 40 miles to do so. Also some of the questions have no connection to health like do i or do i not have a mortgage, All very supicious and its not clear whether this is really of benifit to just the NHS

I was just going to join this what I assumed was a citizen science project having been sent a letter but the details on who was running it was very vague, I felt something was a bit "fishy".
So I turned to trusty Trustpilot and started reading the very helpful 197 reviews and decided I definitely would not be joining even for the promised tenner!!

Although I had to wait a long time for my appointment, I eventually got it. The services I received were efficient, professional and friendly.

I got a letter through the post asking me to sign up. I registered. I have participated in NHS research projects before but something did not feel right about this organisation so I did not proceed to completion straight away and in the meantime did some more research. Looking more closely at some of the collaborators involved I decided to withdraw and deleted my account. I am very concerned about large US tech companies (such as Palantir for instance) being involved with our NHS and I am very picky about who gets my private data.

BE VERY AWARE: 'OUR FUTURE HEALTH LTD' is not related to the NHS. In fact, last year it had a turnover approaching £97,922,773, yep, that's in millions! They sell your data for more than the £10 they allege they will give you. On the Companies House website, the information is free. Better still, why not contact your local MP as the British are being openly scammed YET AGAIN........After further research, OUR FUTURE HEALTH is not a Limited Company ( though you can still look at their accounts at Companies House) but their accounts are not listed?!? Instead, grainy black and white folders show up which are almost impossible to read. Come the 'REFORM' revolution this company should be struck off. I am gobsmacked by the wages they pay. Over 30 staff on £90,000 a year ......for doing what?

I am concerned, even though this is a supposedly charitable organisation that requests to speak to. and promises of, return calls from managers have not happened for me. This has happened twice
Even my opt out email has not been acknowledged so how do I know if they are still accessing my NHS information
People at the top are paid megabucks to make this system work well and, for me,it has not

I could not even start this survey, - their digit code does not seem to work!!
So annoying! And now I keep getting emails witg a 6 digit code (for evermore?)

First look if letter comes across as potential fraud/scam related. As the paper used is completely different as to what the NHS use for hospital appointments/reviews/health research for asthma etc. I search the listed site address on the scam adviser site for it to return back as 100% legit but with 2 negatives "Iframe" that is a website showing as a legit site actually through a window showing content from another source with high security risks & hijacking risks etc but also for the site location to be in the US and not UK. Why would the site address list as UK for NHS research to be actually be from the US. It is obviously to collect so much data to illegally use.

I advise all to not scan the qr code as it could be a logger virus that goes undetected logging all data used on browser for banking/emails etc that later use to apply for loans etc using the stolen data.

I received a “to residents of [my postcode]” letter from this group with “in partnership with NHS” plus NHS logo prominent top left. Did some homework and found it was a private org/charity. No information about linking back their research to the NHS that I could find. According to feedback from others, the DNA/blood test is followed by a marketing style questionnaire. All too dubious for me despite the £10 voucher lure. Happy to do this for the NHS, but giving DNA samples plus lifestyle info to an organisation with no real NHS link…that’s a no.

I have just returned home after attending an arranged appointment with you. Half way through my journey to the appointment, travelling at 70mph, I received a text message from you, obviously I couldn't open while driving. When I arrived at the venue, I read the text only to be informed my appointment was cancelled!!!

I went into Boots to find out what the issue was, to be informed your organisation was notified at 8.30am that there was an issue at the venue. I DID NOT receive any text message until 11.59am, 30 mins before my appointment.

I had a 25 mile round journey to attend the appointment. An hour and a half of my time too, for nothing.

This is the second time! I previously had an appointment at another venue, informed by boots there that there was available parking, they failed to mention that the parking is 12.50ph. As the appointment was for myself and my husband we would have needed 2.5hrs parking at a cost of £25. I cancelled then and remade for The Gyle.

So in total, you have had approx 3 hrs of my time, 35 miles on my car and £5 parking costs, and yet I still have had zero tests done.

I saw the NHS logo on the letter I received home so I thought it was legitimate. Then I looked carefully and it is actually a different company which is "in partnership with" the NHS. This means this is not run by the NHS at all, as there could be several other companies involved, having nothing to do with the NHS.

I am disappointed that this random external company got my personal details already, including my name, surname and home address. When you create the account, they ask you your date of birth, which is a very sensitive information that should not be given to random companies. When the NHS runs something, they treat your data very confidentially. I am very concerned because other users online reported that in order to get £10, the company is asking how many cars you hold, what type of boiler you have and lots of other personal information. These guys will make lots of money with all your personal data (including blood!) while paying you £10. This is ridiculous. I give 2 stars because they might do what they actually say they do... but I don't trust them, it is too much they ask and too little they give you in return. Not to mention that our data could be leaked from them, their data storage could be hacked or anything similar could happen, while the NHS has likely more data protections in place. I prefer not to give all my data for £10, thanks. If it was just some blood samples with simple data (name, city where you live, year where you were born), I would not mind doing it. But all these questions for £10? No thanks.

"our future health" is not part of NHS!!, if you have received letter from this company/charity they have used NHS to get access to your medical records using a lift of the law called section 251 to recruit volunteers without consent, they also use the same postal service and lettering as the NHS, and use the NHS logo, our future health is not a scam and what they are doing is great but its so shady, and not transparent from what they are asking from you, do your research first before you say yes

One of the first questions asked “what gender were you assigned at birth?” LOL
They claim that it’s all scientific - clearly not!! Put me off from the start.
Then £10 for your DNA, how appalling. NHS won’t benefit from this, but you can bet the Pharmaceutical firms will….

I saw the NHS logo and assumed this was a genuine NHS initiative, so I went ahead and gave a blood sample. The appointment took place in a Boots pharmacy, and although something felt slightly off, I didn’t question it at the time.

I was then asked to complete an online questionnaire, and that’s when alarm bells started ringing. Why would they need to know how many cars are in my household, who uses them, or what type of central heating I have? This has nothing to do with medical research and felt much more like data harvesting than healthcare.

In the end, I chose not to complete the questionnaire as it felt too risky. I was later sent an email reminding me to fill it in and offering £10 as an incentive, which made the whole thing feel even more dubious.

I am very concerned about how my information may be used and whether it will be shared with third-party companies. Blood donation is supposed to be anonymous, yet my sample was clearly linked to my full personal details (name, address, date of birth, etc.). I deeply regret taking part and hope this well-intentioned action will not come back to bite me.

Overall, the process felt misleading and, in my view, barely legal.

I received a letter inviting my household to join Our Future Health, covered in NHS branding, so it looked completely legitimate. I started signing up but paused to research the organisation - and I’m glad I did.

The project aims to improve early detection of diseases, which is a positive goal. However, there are some important things people should know before handing over their data:

- The programme is funded not just by government but also by major pharmaceutical companies.
- The chair of the organisation has significant shareholdings in one of those companies, which has raised conflict‑of‑interest concerns.
- Investigations by medical and ethics experts have questioned the level of industry involvement and how data may be used.
- Despite the NHS branding, the project is not run by the NHS - it’s a separate charity and company.

I’m not saying it’s a scam, but the branding gives a very NHS‑official impression that doesn’t match the full picture. Personally, I’m not comfortable sharing sensitive health and genetic data under these circumstances.

If you’re considering taking part, I’d strongly recommend doing your own research first. For me, the risks outweighed the benefits.

I started to complete the questionnaire but thought I'd check out the company first. The letterhead is misleading making you think this is for the NHS but it's not.
It seems to be a covert way of getting people's personal information.
I've reported this to
Action Fraud. Best to be safe.

Professional service

Had an appointment for the blood test part of the participation at a Boots store with, understandably, limited availability. I arrived at the store and saw a member of the dispensing staff who was one of the first members of a team I could see who was free, I told them explicitly that I have an appointment for Our Future Health whilst showing them my email reminder. They said that they had no record of an appointment and didn't even seem to know what OFH was, he said to come back after the pharmacist was back from lunch, weird but okay?! Maybe they're the ones doing the tests (For context the person behind the pharmacy counter said he was covering from another store).
Upon the pharmacists return I was told that there was a separate area for Our Future Health and to wait for them their. At this point it was 30 mins of waiting post appointment time. The pharmacist (who was lovely to be fair) came back a little while later to tell me that OFH person actually just started their lunch so wouldn't be back for an hour and they may be able to squeeze me in somewhen later or I'll have to reschedule for another day. They can't see their diary so honestly had no idea but was completely upfront about this.
If this is the future of more privatisation of the NHS, god help us.
Signage or maybe telling the staff working closest to the OFH area that it even exists would be an improvement.
