Excellent service, excellent support

PAC, and Paul in particular, consistently offer the best service of any of the (many) hosts I've used over the years. Very responsive, patient, and knowledgeable, with a impressively personal service.

Excellent and rapid service - highly recommended!

I moved to PAC Web Hosting based upon their high TrustPilot ratings almost a year ago and I have to say I have not regretted it one little bit. I think this is the only company I have ever used where rapid Technical Support for existing customers is a higher priority than new sales!

Fast, friendly, expert help even for the smallest of customers.

Would not consider swapping webhost, because of the speed and willingness to help when necessary, good communications and good pricing. I'm a self-trained web developer and have never felt patronised as I might have feared, but taken seriously and professionally.
Hats off to Paul and team for excellent service.

Dependable & Customer Focused

I recommend PAC Web Hosting after trying a few different hosts.

Why?
They're human over the phone & seem to hire good people to get the technical issues ironed out.

No doubts there's been a time where we've all got frustrated with our own technical limitations and really needed someone on the other end of the phone to reassure us, point us in the right direction or just fix something that appears broken.

Paul has always been able to answer my questions and his team seem able to manage my hosting well... even at those times when there's a crisis.

Recommended. Good customer service and technically proficient.

Good service with a few technical niggles

The account and service was easy to set up and when contacting PAC Hosting directly with issues they are very responsive, notably Paul Nesbitt has been very helpful.
Some outstanding issues:
- Still get a warning message on start up of 'the identity of the server cannot be confirmed' (or something like that) - have to click 'connect anyway'.
- I receive a huge amount of spam, particularly after the recent server cutover - not sure the spam filter is working at all.
No intention of moving my account.

Thanks for your kind words :)

For your identity of the server cannot be verified message, that is usually a very easy fix and is because you are using SSL email settings but using something other than the servers host name for your incoming and outgoing server names in your email client.

The warning is because what you are using does not match the name of the SSL which is the servers host name.

If you check your setup email you will find the correct server name to use for your account in there, if you then change the incoming and outgoing server name to the servers host name it should go away.

For the spam it sounds like the spam filter needs reactivating for your account since the move, I have tried to locate your account to do this for you but we have quite a few Andy Roberts so I am not sure which one is you!

If you can open a support ticket to have the anti spam server reactivated for your account support will take care of it, also if after changing the host names as above does not work please open a separate ticket for that also.

The best host I've used in over 12 years of web work

I've been with these guys for about 3 years, running various Magento and Wordpress sites on a VPS setup, and have previously used probably a dozen different hosts. They have exceptional service, with quick issue resolutions and lots of helpful advice. You actually feel like there are human beings on the other end, which is great. The boss is one of the hardest working people in hosting I'd say, and I have often received responses late on Sunday nights or on bank holidays. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Great hosting

Been with them for a few years now. I do occasionally look at the other providers to ensure that Iam not missing out on other great deals, but I have to say nothing comes close to the space, bandwidth and the level of support you get _ often at silly times in the evening and I had responses and fixes in minutes- not some overseas follow the sun get back to me in 48hrs nonsense. A good service and they use that nice advanced Linux cpanel.

Super service and pricing

To whom it may concern,
I have been with PAC for about 5 years now with a range of different websites on a VPS and have to say they have been fantastic. Obviously there are challenges from time to time, they turn out to be mostly my fault, but they have always been resolved in good time. For personal reasons I had to review my hosting and was amazed at the prices quoted for the same service elsewhere. All alternative suppliers were much more expensive and in one instance the cost was more than double. Fortunately my personal issues are resolved and I'm a very happy customer still.

Fast & Reliable, Solve Issues Quickly

Provide a fast reliable service very pleased with it for my company's support site. Always quick to respond to queries, resolve issues or help with server admin etc, handled by an individual through the process not via a call centre etc.

Relatively expensive but you get what you pay for and it's not my money!

Just got onto the Cloud!!

Hi there, I've hosted on traditional Shared Hosting for many years, but never gone so far as to have my own Cloud server... Mainly through the cost and fear of the unknown.

Just thought I'd say what a cracking service PAC offered us. We transferred all our web business across onto a Cloud based VPS a few months ago and have not looked back.

We have had nothing but excellent support (which is good, cos it's all new to me) and frankly, I looked good in my Bosses eyes!

The sites are all up and running and we're very happy with the service and the great price. All in all I would recommend PAC to anyone.

After two other companies that let me down quite badly, this has been a haven.

I have used hosting for my domains for some years now and had a couple of bad experiences - the first company was completely hopeless with an email protection system so ill designed that I had to be released from lockout at least once each week. The second company was very good till they sold out to a big American operation that were happy to continue to host for me at twice the price.
After these bad experiences, Pac Web have been a haven of peace and contentment. Things go wrong, it's inevitable with such a complex business, but they always know how to fix them and they do fix them - very quickly. When something doesn't work the way I want it to they have, several times now, designed new facilities into their systems to accommodate me. The help system is really on the ball - they really do turn problems round very quickly.
These people are professional, considerate and very deeply versed in the technicalities and practicalities of what they do. I'm content.

Wow - bizarre

I've never known a company close down AFTER Easter...for the following week and weekend! I joined after reading comments on here - and there is much competition in this sector. However, I have a few domain names which have individual email addresses. I was told on the phone that I would have to be "talked through the set-up". Indeed, the sections requiring filling-in are daunting. After joining, however, I couldn't get them on the phone...on a Wednesday afternoon (April 8th). Their 'online chat' service also wasn't working. I got a recorded message asking me to phone during normal office hours (which was what I was doing!). Their website clearly states:
"Fully managed support 24/7...every day of the year" It also says "Superb performance" and "UK telephone support". What it DOESN'T say is that they take bizarrely-timed holidays with absolutely NO telephone support at all...even during normal office hours when EVERYONE ELSE is back at work!

As I run a small business, and was without the ability to email out - I needed it up and running asap. When I lodged my problem, rather than phone me back, they emailed me...even though they knew I couldn't email back. They also suggested I should be grateful that they were replying "out of courtesy". So, never mind the "24/7 support" then? That's fine when you can simply email them your problem, and you accept their 'ticket' system. But when you need to be talked through something then it's absolutely useless. They can't even refund me until they go back to work on the 13th!

Truly bizarre way to run a business, and I would advise anyone considering this company to wonder what other days of the year they take off with absolutely no phone support at all. I still have no email-out facility, (having to run my business through a yahoo email address), £48 down, and no prospect of getting it back until their bizarre holiday is over.

Thanks for your feedback we do take it seriously and as such have made some changes based on your feedback.

Just before I go into the changes I would just like to point out one part of your comments that is not correct and if left unsaid would mislead people reading this so I need to put that right.

You mention that we closed down as a company after Easter, this is not quite correct, the only part that is not operating this Easter week is the telephone lines, everything else is running as normal including the 24x7 support by way of our support system which operates 24x7 every day of the year with a response and usually a fix within 1 hour.

In the 8 years we have been operating we have always closed our telephone lines on two occasions each year, Easter week and Christmas week, with 24x7 support operating as normal during these times.

It was myself you spoke to last week and I did say we could help you do this on the phone, with hindsight and they say it is a great thing I should have mentioned that the telephone lines were closed this week and perhaps we would not be where we are now so my apologies about that.

That said we are here now and I can attempt to put right what I can and hope it is good for you.

The first thing is I will process your refund today.

And the second is that I have opened our telephone lines back up today and they will no longer be closed at Easter week each year.

And the third is if you are still willing to give us a try and put this behind us, I will provide you a years web hosting free of charge.

If the above is acceptable to you please give us a call on 0333 123 8000 or 0800 756 6706 and ask for me personally and I will hopefully restore the faith you had in us after reading the excellent reviews we have.

Recent Domain / Hosting Package purchase

The purchase was fuss free and straightforward - there was one issue caused by some idiot (me) clicking in the wrong place during the process , but that was sorted very quickly by opening a support ticket - they really do do what it says on their tin.
