Car park personnel driving cars in wrong direction in car oark
After over one and a half hours to get out of Bristol Airport today , we collected our car and duly started to drive away following the correct exit route out of parking. Three times we met parking personnel driving cars the wrong way round and close to causing a collision as they were re-parking cars. This is not acceptable and a dangerous practice which puts your customers at risk !
Don’t use
When we eventually found it, it was down an old bumpy farm road. Then there was an extra charge for £14 they called airport gate fee. Which was hidden in T&C. When we arrived back I tried calling them and no answer this was 11.45 at night so started to worry. Went to wear we got dropped off and luckily found other couples waiting. They had been told 5 minutes ended up being over an hour. There trick is as only got one van is to wait for more flights to come in to pick people up and making people wait. When other couple kept ringing them they said driver needed a break. Also owner says it’s nothing to do with them their number is on the website. No Ownership of problems.
Huge delays and queues for buses, dreadful service
The queue yesterday when we landed at Bristol airport was huge. Hundreds of people queueing to get on the buses to take us to our car. The buses are coming every 15 minutes which means well over an hours wait queuing after a long 25 hour journey from Africa. Some double buses were dropping only, so returning to Silver Zone empty which was heart breaking when your desperate just to get home. Parents with your exhausted children had yet another queue for parking. This used to be a good option not any more. I would have been better off paying a taxi to take me to the car.
Frankly it’s shambolic
Frankly it’s shambolic. The place is a building site with temporary fences and coned off roads and the airport’s website postcodes for parking lead you into cul de sacs where enforcement cameras lie in wait. There are no signs for the ‘silver’ parking places for which they are only too happy to take your money and now my poor little brand new Fiat is backed into a hedge in the only available short term space. The enforcement cameras are just entrapment and no one seems to give a damn when you point out the problem. I’ll never ever come back to this horrible airport, I’d rather drive to London which is more expensive but at meat it’s runny people who know which way is up.
Monetising others misery
We were impacted by our flight being cancelled and stranded for 3 days with no flight home. When we arrived despite emailing and explaining to silver zone, we were hit with a £39 per day charge even though no flight was able to land at the airport. Car also not in the condition it was left. Bus ride was jammed packed, unsafe and extremely fast. Terrible experience- much cheaper to arrange a lift or taxi so sadly after previously always using none of us will do again.
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!!
Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. My vehicle was damaged when I arrived back from holiday. Significantly damaged too. The staff couldn't care less. One of the staff collided with it in another customers car when they were moving vehicles around and to top it off it was hit a second time by a different vehicle. Avoid this place like the plague. It's like amateur hour there. They only admitted liability because there was no other avenue for them and were caught out by their own cameras. The slightest hint of having an excuse to leave customers with huge repair bills they will gladly leave you in the lurch.
It's a terrible place to park and the staff couldn't care less.
NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE
Arriving after a delayed flight we were greeted at the bus by the driver who insisted as many as possible could be pushed on board. He said he was a bad driver and he wasn't wrong. We were like sardines as he hurtled up the A.38. On arrival at the depot the keys were given to us quickly but with absolutely no advice as to where our cars were. It was dark and raining. I had no idea of the layout and had to return to ask for directions which were given. Lets just say the lady had never been to a charm school !! So unhelpful.
Bristol Airport Parking Penalty
Our flight back to the UK this week was delayed by 12 hours and, despite in advance having advised the airport parking of our late return and being told there would be no further charge resulting, we were forced to pay a penalty charge of £35 on our return.
We were misled, and are angry at the Airport's profit grabbing.
Not surprising that the Airport achieved such a low rating in the "Which " report just published.
This company is a scam
This company is a scam.
They rub people. They are liars, do not waste your time communicate with them, they have no power to do f all. Just disgusting horrible scammers
We travelled on Easyjet yesterday…
We travelled on Easyjet yesterday morning. The check in was chaos as was security. We waited 30 minutes in the check queue with hundreds of passengers. As security was so busy we paid for fast track. It seems that the airport offers flights to many destinations but does not have the check in or security capacity to cope with the volume of customers. From 5:55am to 7am there were over 25 flights departing. We boarded our plane only to be told we would be departing 30 minutes late. Air traffic control said this was due to the number of flights departing! This was the worst departure we have ever experienced in many years of extensive travels.
DO NOT waste your money on the Meet and…
DO NOT waste your money on the Meet and Greet Premium parking at the airport.
We travel with our sone who uses a wheelchair usually I drop off my wife, some and baggage at the drop off area and then go off and park the car. This year they introduced the Meet and Greet Premium parking where you are met buy someone who takes your car on your arrival and has it waiting for you when you arrive. We thought this might be easier.
So we arrived at the planned time with noone to greet us. The phone number given went to voicemail. Even the usual parking personnel couldn't contact them so they sent someone to go and knock on their door. 30minutes after our arrival we were greeted! Would have been quicker how we operated in last years
Daylight robbery at its finest!
Daylight robbery at its finest!
It is now more expensive to park at Bristol airport, than London Heathrow. Pre book online as soon as available. Absolutely disgusting greed from Bristol Airport and the service is shiz a! Brand new multi storey and it’s still near impossible to find a space - the technology to have a green light and boards indicating where spaces are has been available for YEARS, you’re charging absurd pricing and yet you still didn’t use this! Disgraceful. I’m sick of being robbed blind from every angle, constantly.
Used airport to pick someone up today
Used airport to pick someone up today. I was absolutely disgusted poor signage to car parks. Ended in the short stay car park. Ended up in there for 1hr due to passenger been a long time exiting arrivals. 1 hr £30 Three weeks ago I picked him up at Heathrow. Due to delays in baggage I ended up in there for 3 hrs charge £28 for a well signposted car park completely under cover the whole time. Disgusted with the greed of this airport
Bristol Airport's extremely poorly designed and implemented mid stay carpark.
My experience of Bristol Airport's new mid-stay car park was appalling. The car park is poorly conceived, designed and implemented.
In brief:
It is very poorly signposted from arrival at the airport through to exiting the car park. The car park's barrier exit is absurdly narrow and, due to the layout of the parking bays on the approach to the exit from the west side, a multi-point turn was required to align my 4.6m long vehicle sufficiently to pass through the extremely narrow and obstructed barrier exit.
In full:
The booking confirmation instructs drivers to follow the red-coloured signage to the mid stay car park. This is quite clear until you are past the east-side roundabout, where the signage indicates that you are on the way to the airport exit, without also indicating that you are on the correct route to the mid-stay car park, which causes confusion.
Upon finding a parking spot in the mid-stay car park, the pedestrian signage for the route to the terminal is also unclear, with passengers expected to navigate to the multi-storey car park, through it and to the transport hub, without adequate signage.
Returning to the mid-stay car park is even worse. Once you exit the transport hub's lift on Level 1, there is no immediate signage instructing pedestrians whether to turn right or left to reach the pedestrian exit to the mid-stay car park. Signage only becomes apparent once you have already taken the right turn.
Within the mid-stay car park, there is no signage pointing towards the exit until you reach the exit itself, where the only signage is a temporary swing-board pavement sign.
The barrier exit of the car park is far too narrow and has multiple obstructions, making exiting from the west-side approach in anything other than a small car needlessly difficult.
My mid-sized, long-wheelbase van required a multi-point turn to square up sufficiently to safely pass through the narrow exit. As parking bays are located directly opposite and close to the exit, there is very little room in which to manoeuvre and square up to the barrier.
Whilst performing the multi-point turn necessary to exit, the automated barrier system recognised my van's number plate, prematurely opened and then closed again. Once I was sufficiently squared up to pass through the barrier, I had to call for assistance, as the barrier would not reopen, either via number plate recognition or by scanning the barcode on my ticket.
Overall, this was an extremely poor experience, entirely the result of a poorly designed and executed car park that's in desperate need of serious improvement.
Terrible terrible terrible
Terrible terrible terrible. Went to pick up someone arriving, and was met with a multitude of signposts, all with multiple destinations but nothing obvious for “arrivals” or “pick ups”. Only way to read them would be to stop. The only signs that were clear were the ones saying a £100 fine if you stop!! So drove around ended having to drive through a car park - £9.50, then stopped on some waste ground to phone friend to see where I should pick him up - £100 fine in the post I expect, then agreed on short term car park £10 fee. Never again as a taxi would be cheaper!!
i forgot my flight bag they were great…
i forgot my flight bag they were great let me have my key back and helped
Booked mid stay car park for the first…
Booked mid stay car park for the first time I have always used silver zone with no issues.
Mid stay was very difficult to find and was poorly signposted
Also signposting to terminal was poor and a lot of guess work was used.
The same feed back was voiced by others using mid stay on the day
I wouldn’t recommend if you have baggage and/or children
If you want to pay someone to damage your car
If you want to pay someone to damage your car, then stay at Bristol Silver Zone Parking!
Take a video of the inside and outside of your car when dropping off and collecting. I’d even take an image of the mileage.
You’ll need to report any damage before leaving the car park, exactly what you want to do after experiencing the joys of modern air travel..
My advice would be to leave your car somewhere else and keep your own keys. Heck you own it anyway.
Don’t offer a valet service if you can’t be trusted. Most people could do with the exercise of walking to their car anyway…
Car damaged by Silver Zone employee
Returned to Silver Zone to collect car to be told that they had damaged the car when reparking it. They sent me an email that stated that they would contact me within 20 working days (four weeks !!!). 5 days later - nothing heard. When I replied to the email I received a standard response that they don’t answer emails sent to that address. No previous trouble with SZ but won’t be using them again.
