When Professional Reputation Meets…
When Professional Reputation Meets Professional Responsibility
I have been wondering about something involving Kirsten Franson, who I understand has worked with Parklane Jewelry as a director and model.
My experience with Kirsten concerns freelance work I completed for her. According to my records and our communication, the work was completed, but the agreed payment remains outstanding. Despite attempts to have the matter resolved, I have not received the payment I believe I am owed.
This has left me asking a simple question: How should companies handle situations where someone representing their brand is involved in a serious unresolved payment dispute with a freelancer?
Freelancers depend on trust. When someone agrees to pay for professional work, completes the engagement, and then does not receive payment, it can have a significant impact on the person who provided that service.
This is not about attacking Kirsten Franson personally. It is about accountability and the importance of honoring professional commitments.
My Conclusion
If the evidence confirms that Kirsten Franson accepted freelance services and failed to honor the agreed payment without a legitimate contractual reason, then Parklane Jewelry should seriously review whether continuing to have her represent the company as a director or model is consistent with the professional standards and values the brand wants associated with its name.
People who represent a company carry its reputation with them. Professional accountability should apply regardless of someone's position or public image.
