Finally I got the answers I was looking for!

Test results were not easily obtained

I don’t know yet because I haven’t gotten the results which were advertised as arriving in 24 hrs and it’s been longer than 24 hrs….

I got a text with a file but i couldn’t open it i texted back and never got a response so i havent gotten my results at all

I sent a question to customer service

It’s been 6 days - no response

Always reliable results. I decided to see a doctor from the MicroGenDX provider list and he was ecstatic to see my PCR results to treat the infection appropriately. I believe this is the key! Other doctors don't know how to read the results and don't care to educate themselves.

I never received the kit.

Test would not register and no 24 hour support

I purchased the MensKEY test from MicroGenDX after suffering for nearly 3 years with medically diagnosed Prostatitis and ongoing UTI-like symptoms. Conventional testing had not identified the specific bacteria, which is exactly why I turned to MicroGenDX. Their marketing repeatedly states they provide “answers where cultures have failed” and detect over 60,000 potential microbes using advanced qPCR + NGS testing.

In addition to prostatitis, I have been experiencing multiple severe UTI-type symptoms for over a year, including:

* Burning with urination
* Discharge
* Frequent urination
* Urgency
* Cloudy urine
* Discomfort after ejaculation

Because of these symptoms and my diagnosis, I was hopeful this test would finally provide clarity.

When I received the test kit, I took the collection process extremely seriously. I carefully read all instructions, watched MicroGenDX’s own instructional videos on YouTube, and followed every step precisely. I even drove out of my way to a FedEx airport location to ensure the samples would be shipped as quickly and securely as possible.

About a week later, I received my results.

The report indicated no bacteria, fungi, or organisms detected in any sample — urine or semen.

Given my diagnosed prostatitis, history of purulent discharge, and ongoing symptoms, this result was extremely concerning and did not align with my clinical situation. MicroGenDX also states their testing can detect over 60,000 microbial species and provide answers where traditional testing fails, which made the completely negative result even more questionable.

I immediately contacted MicroGenDX and explained my situation. I requested either a complimentary retest or a refund.

I was told my request would be escalated and that I would hear back within 1–2 days. That did not happen.

After multiple follow-ups over the next two weeks, I was eventually offered only 50% off another test, meaning I would have to pay again after already spending over $300+ for results that did not match my diagnosed condition or symptoms.

I explained that I had followed all instructions carefully, was not on antibiotics, and that given the circumstances, a complimentary retest or refund would be reasonable. After expressing my concerns, communication stopped and I have not received further assistance.

This has been extremely disappointing, especially given the expectations created by MicroGenDX’s marketing, which promises:

- “Answers where cultures have failed”
- “Detection of 60,000+ microbes”
- “Relief for chronic or recurrent UTIs”
- “Gold standard of infectious disease diagnostics”

After nearly 3 years of dealing with prostatitis and UTI-like symptoms, I purchased this test hoping for answers. Instead, I was left with more uncertainty, sleepless nights, and additional stress.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company and would urge others dealing with chronic prostatitis or UTI symptoms to carefully consider whether this testing is worth the cost.

I am still hopeful MicroGenDX will make this right by offering a complimentary retest or refund.

Everyone that I spoke with on the phone was lovely, but the website for setting the password and for setting up the patient portal weren't user friendly and didn't deliver the desired results without calling your wonderful customer support personnel!

The customer support team was excellent and could answer all of my questions and help me to get my samples submitted. The submission process was easy and I got my results in a timely fashion.

I received no information and no correspondence after registering my kit. I was very careful to follow all instructions, but there has been no update, response, or support. The lack of communication is extremely frustrating, especially for a medical-related service where timely feedback matters. I expected clear updates and basic customer service, but did not receive either.

I had been struggling with recurrent UTIs and had been on several courses of antibiotics. I would get some relief, but not feel fully well and was getting no help through traditional testing. My last urine analysis and urine culture through Quest actually came back negative, even though I was quite symptomatic at the time.
The MicroGenDX test showed 2 different pathogens and none of the antibiotics that I had been on covered both pathogens. The report clearly showed what antibiotics would cover both pathogens and treating with the appropriate antibiotic has made all the difference in the world.

Great service, quick turnaround in shipping out the sample kit and processing it. From online order to results in 5 days, including the weekend is amazing.
The results report was easy to read and appreciated by my doctor.

Customer service is always very helpful. I get my results back in a timely manner. Microgen has become a source of comfort for me because I know I’ll get answers that maybe I haven’t been able to in the past. That helps me get better and eases my mind knowing I can trust the results.
