Really happy with how easy the it was to insure Bonnie, fantastic prices and im really happy with my claim.

I have just insured my dog. The site was easy to use and I was impressed that there was no extra charge for paying monthly. A lovely touch. And I am helping people who cannot afford pet care. I haven't made any claim yet so this review may change!

Easy website and reasonable insurance price for my 12 year old dog

Easy to set up insurance at reasonable price plus there’s no age limit whereas a lot of companies will not accept a pet as a new customer once they’ve reached a certain age

always used the P D S A had 5 different breeds of dogs in our 78 years of age always visited them now although l went to the p d s a when my dogs were sick and left donations l cannot thank them enough so if I can help them in any small way then l will help.

Terrible customer service. Clicked the banner for free gift pack when joining, nothing received for 8 months, when I call to enquire just another outsourced "front of line" customer service agent who provide no actual customer service, agent just started shouting at me saying i didnt meet the terms and condition. Asked him to escalate as complaint and he refused. Concerning you cant fulfil a free gift pack so what's it going to be like if/when i need to use the actual service im paying for. I look forward to the copy and paste reply you seem to leave one all your negative reviews

Really disappointed by the service I have just received from Virginia.

I am a long standing customer of PDSA of 4 years, for the first two years I have not made a claim, whenver the renewal letters have come through I've never negotiated, shopped around or even questioned them I've just left them to auto-renew. In the third year my dog had some lameness and started investigations with x-rays. During that time the claim was submitted the renewal came through and it increased slightly but not drasitically, with a claim in that policy year the increase seemed reasonable.
The third year ended on a total claim for x-rays of £1400. In this 4th year, the existing lameness investigations were still continuing and therefore fell into a new policy year I paid the excess and started again. In 12 months, the total claimed is £968.00. This over two policy years with a total of £5000 per year has lead to an increase from £56 a month to £126.02 a month which is 125.04%! £10,000 total cover over two years minus the total claimed of £2,368 has resulted in an increase of £672 a year to £1,512.24.

I tried phoning to explain the situation and acknowledge that I understand claims have been made on the policy and therefore the total would increase however this is a bit much and Its hard to find an additional £70 a month. Virginia was so rude and I lost count of the amount of times she said the sentence 'like i said' during one phone call. The reasons given were due to the vet fee prices in my area, the type of claim I made and then the age and breed of my dog. Despite having passed all previous vetings, hip and bones scores and not even entering double digits in age they doubled my policy. But as Virginia mentioned 'like i said' we are a charity and our policy confirms there is no set % or amount we can choose to increase your policy by each year. Despite 125.04% seeming extortionate they feel it is somehow justified.

The only thing they would offer to reduce my monthly figure is to reduce the £5000 yearly limit to £4000 or lower, however it was then advised once reduced it cannot be increased.

Every pet owners knows that £5000 doesn't get you very far when it comes to making a claim for vets bills.

Despite being a charity, I cant help but feel they are contributing towards the rising increase of pets being surrendered in shelters, to charities or being put to sleep. The only thing Virginia could offer despite being a longstanding customer, explaining our financial situation is for us to make a complaint and shop elsewhere.

When it comes to family pets, using the words 'like I've said' to a customer is the wrong way to speak to clients who are worried about there pets and the security of their futures.

An absolute disgrace! Upon claiming for ‘toxicity’ in my dog, PDSA have added ‘hind leg issues’ to my exclusions - he has never been diagnosed with or treated for any ‘hind leg issues’, they are using a note from a health check over two years ago, where he stood on a stone and limped for a few hours! Absolutely outrageous - excluding thousands of potential issues, whilst I pay £80 per month for standing on a stone. He’s an older dog so I believe I have been scammed - they know that an older dog may develop arthritis etc so they have been very underhand in using this as an excuse to exclude anything such as this. Disgusting company.

So far so good jyst filled in form on line easy simple only 75 pound excess thats affordable for myself happy with price im hoping u can they can wait the vets fir people to claim thats whole point in claiming for your loved pet as people dont have money upfront inly excess fee all in all good company
