Don't use PensionBee if you contract through an Umbrella
PensionBee are unable to set up payments with one of the UKs largest umbrella providers Paystream, as such they were unable to provide me with a pension service. Customer services were unhelpful, in fact the only thing they could do on my behalf was offer to close the pension account I opened with them. Shockingly bad show PensionBee, sort your act out.

Does not recognize military state and local police department as a job
Before you can do anything it asked to search for the job that funded your 401k etc tell me why it can't find my employer I looked up 2 Tennessee department of corrections I worked and also coffee county sheriff department so since your developer decided to make it mandatory that during singing up you can't complete the account information and can't skip it so their for you need to fire the One that made a lot of decisions on the account sign up because you lost about 50 clients and also it can't find military service army national guard Air Force Navy etc so who built this to leave out the military as a job this is not American

Slick process from start to finish with a slick website.
There was ongoing transparent progress updates on the pension transfer progress with dates.
I did not understand the next steps at one point and raised a query by email. I got a response from a human swiftly and they described where there was a hold-up with registration verification.
It all went smoothly over a couple of weeks.
I like the feature that I can move my funds to different risk-levels with relatively little hassle.

Moved four pensions in the UK into a SIPP that Pension Bee set up. It was easy and they were incredibly responsive they were also the only company I could find out of 6 I contacted that would manage a UK SIPP as a USA resident. So far so good

I have just setup as a sole trader and want an easy to deal with pension provider with good returns.
It has been such a simple process to move my old workplace pension over. I would highly recommend.
My pension even increased by a few pounds on the same day the funds were made visable to me. 😀
