Penzey's had terrible quality control and customer service, highly disappointing that their leadership refuses to honor company values and commitments.

It is extremely poor customer service. You store is not open and the online ordering complicated. You need to staff to take in pick ups or open your stores.

I will not continue to support if this continues.

Every item I have ever received from Penzey's has been stellar quality. I was first introduced to the company when I received a box of spices as a wedding gift fourteen years ago, and I have been a loyal customer ever since. The Justice seasoning is particularly good, and their smoked paprika is out of this world!

Additionally, I received each order quickly, always with a little "happy" inside. One time a heart-shaped pin with the word "love", another time a fun poster of an astronaut that my daughter has hanging on her wall. It's those touches that make you feel that you are truly appreciated as a customer. They go the extra mile.

I also love that the owner is steadfast and open about his beliefs and values, spending large sums of his money to support causes dedicated to racial justice, social welfare, and overall equity. I am proud to support this company and always excited to order something new and delicious, as well as reordering old favorites.

I've been trying to order online and by calling my local Penzey's store -- to no avail. The website is arcane; no one will answer the phone at the store. They, unfortunately lost my business to another spices company. Probably a good thing, since now, as I read the other reviews about the company's political bent, I would have terminated my business anyway.....

I don't want anything to do with a company who is prejudice against conservative or any other mind set rather than theirs. I recieved political crap disguised as a recipe card. I was being told by a SPICE COMPANY THAT THE PRESIDENT WAS A CROOK. What gives you jerks the right to advise me about politics? Crook!!They are all crooks!!How do you think they make their millions? They go into politics and stay till they are old and feeble and don't do a thing. Their millions are made of the backs of the hard working tax payer.They pull the strings on life and livelihoods. They sit on their rumps and never worry about getting their fat checks. Do you simpletons think that over 75 million Republicans don't cook? If I want political opinions I won't ask a spice company. Don't you think we have had enough destructive political poo to last a lifetime? Now let me give you a little SPICE advice for your pigs ass and parsnips. Any company who is doing this type of political crap will be cutting off its nose to spite its face. Your reputation and business will suffer. There's something for everyone, for yourself, gifts, teachers, individual spices, packages of various sizes, including towels, pins, and stickers, and even specifics like for teachers. Wow! *And* it's all delicious, *and* from a company that cares about standing up for what's right. Notice that no reviews have a single negative thing to say about the product.

They offer a lot of sales, freebies, and put their money where their mouth is. Rarely do I feel so good about buying from a company. Great product and humanity in a company.

Using your email data base for political and biased views, is NOT okay with me. you just lost a customer over this.

This company is sending out political statements to its customers. What a crappy business model. Stay away.

We have been a VERY good customer of Penzeys for years. We have been very pleased with the spices and have always reordered. Lately the emails have been so anti conservative that it makes me want to puke. I understand politics and have my own opinions but to blatantly offend a customer by saying Republicans have cruelty in their soul is beyond belief. This is not the first time "Bill" has offended his conservative base customer and probably won't be the last. After this last encounter with him asking for donations from his customers to fund the "Blue", we decided that Bill needed to get his money from his socialist buddies and not have the tainted Republican money from us. We spent his $100 order (which we didn't place" on the Wisconsin Republican Party donation site. We simply can't condone this type of action from the owner of a company that wants to offend half (at least) of his customer. I hope you will boycott this company and find a company to purchase from that doesn't tell you your offensive. Trump 2020!

Having been an in store shopper in the past, I have now had the unpleasant experience of providing my email for my drive up order. I have lost count of how many emails in the past 10 days, but when you send one to tell me what to watch on TV, it's simply not fair to your customers. Please show more respect.

I've been a customer of Penzeys for more than ten years and have always had a fantastic experience with them. Their spices are high quality and make the difference in recipes. Their business model is sound and products are received in a timely manner as well as thoughtfully packaged. Quality, customer service, prices and responsiveness. Once you try their spices, you won't want to use old store brands ever again!

Really!!! I am disgusted by your lack of "humanity!" You can still make this "right!" Penzeys seems to be just as "uncaring" as every other crooked corporation . . . not giving a crap about your customers even though you claim to be "different"! Do the right thing and resolve this. You give away so much product. What would it cost you to make good on this???

I have been putting off writing this email and am upset enough to no longer be a loyal Penzeys customer.

HISTORY: I received a lovely Christmas gift of Penzeys spices from my niece a number of years ago. I was so impressed and was pleased to find that there was a large, inviting store located in Rockville MD, not far from my zip code in Silver Spring MD. I signed up for emails from Penzeys and was excited and relieved that there was at least one corporation that was willing to put its business on the line to stand up for justice and what is right concerning the political state of affairs in our country.

I operate business in Silver Spring, MD (near the Rockville location). I provide my clients with recipes and recommend Penzeys spices to enliven their meals and to make their experiences with food exciting.. Until Penzeys discontinued its printed catalogue, I would pick up bundles of them and include them in all of my customer's consultation folders during their first visit to my business. I continued to verbally recommend Penzeys and emailed links to your web site during their visits.

As well as being a loyal customer, I have also been referring my family and friends to your Rockville and Cleveland stores. I gave my sister-in-law my spare bottle of Fox Point in November while we were celebrating Thanksgiving with them in Cleveland. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Penzeys to any of my clients, relatives or friends and will no longer make any purchases from your stores or from your site.

THE INCIDENT: I purchased a gift card and used it to purchase my nephew's Christmas gift and couldn't wait to surprise him when we celebrated Christmas in Cleveland in December. (I was pleasantly surprised that my Cleveland family also purchased spice boxes as Christmas gifts for family members, making this past Christmas a "Penzeys Christmas.")

I visited the Rockville store in Dec. to purchase his gift and had the attached coupon with me. (During my subsequent visits, the offer was repeatedly out of stock and I was unable to redeem the coupon-I attempted to redeem the coupon on numerous occasions that year without success, Because of this, I was told that there would be "no expiration date" on the coupon.)

The coupon was set aside, misplaced, but not forgotten. Happily I discovered the coupon recently and took it with me during my Christmas shopping trip to Penzey's in December. The clerk called the corporate office to inquire about redeeming the coupon and was told that it was too old and that the promise made to me was not going to be honored. THIS WAS NOT MY FAILURE, BUT YOURS! I BELIEVE THAT I AM NOT SUFFERING FROM FAULTY THINKING IN EXPECTING YOUR COMPANY TO DO THE RIGHT THING.

This is quite distressing since you represent yourself and your company as being "different" from other corporations in your policies and philosophies toward fairness and justice. I believe that this decision is unfair and unjust.

I love their spices, their assortments and their philosophy. The pricing is fair too! It's delightful to buy from a company that has ethics and isn't afraid to put them at the forefront.

Fresh spices, herbs and mixes. Bargains and promotions weekly. We buy all our cooking and baking spices from them. Great service. Love their ethical and moral philosophy which they express in their e-mails.

It's a joy to find the products I want not only of the highest quality, but also from a company I'm proud to support. Whenever I gift a friend with Penzeys spices, he or she becomes a fan too. The recipes and suggestions in the catalogue are really good. Unfortunately the nearest store is 150 miles away so I get to visit and browse only 2 or 3 times a year, but their website makes online browsing user friendly, and they offer great specials by e-mail if you sign up. One of my top 5 sources for cooking goodies.

This company is the best. Not only are the spices delicious, the catalog is so great that it has stories and new recipes we try every month. I feel like I am supporting an ethical and loving company and getting a free present every time the catalog arrives. You should order some spices from this company!

My spice delivery was super fast, included great packaging, a handwritten note from the team that packed the items, and a free gift (unexpected)!
