Quick and easy transaction

I instructed a Level 2 Home Report on a property in Saint Albans. I was satisfied with the clear communication / timeframe to delivery - from the initial estimate, call with the surveyor - to discuss my particular queries which I wanted more depth of attention and information during the survey itself so that everything is documented. Following the survey, I had more queries that were promptly explained and addressed. This resulted in a better understanding of the condition of the properrty and next steps required in terms of repairs/costs. Given how stressful the buying process can be having a reliable survey and advisor can really take some of the stress away. I would highly recommend.

Very friendly, efficient and easy to deal with

I would highly recommend Peter Barry. I had a level 2 home survey carried out by David Breeze and had a great experience. David was extremely helpful through the entire process, talking me through the details of the report and answering all questions I had.

We required a full survey report with valuation in short time. Peter Barry completed all requirements on time, accurately and with helpful recommendations. We would highly recommend this surveyor.

I rarely leave detailed reviews, but given the cost and importance of this service, I feel it is worth sharing my experience.

Unfortunately, communication throughout the party wall process was extremely poor. It was consistently difficult to get hold of the surveyor or received any meaningful updates, leaving me unclear on progress for long periods.

I was not informed when the initial inspection of my neighbour's property was arranged, despite the surveyor acting for both parties. When the visit did take place, it became apparent that key details had not been properly reviewed in advance - the scope of works (loft conversion as well as extension) was not understood, and the neighbouring property's layout as two separate flats with different owners had not been identified. As a result, the survey could not be completed and had to be repeated later, causing unnecessary delay.

These issues could have been easily avoided with basic review of the plans provided and publicly available information, or simple communication with the parties involved.

Overall, the process felt disorganised and lacking in transparency. Given the level of fees involved, I expected a far more proactive and professional service with more equal representation across parties involved.

Be careful of this company. This company unfortunately sends fraudulent letters to solicit business - which can be quite dangerous and cause conflicts with neighbours.
They sent a letter to me alleging that our neighbours are undertaking construction work and hence we should engage their services for PartyWall work (which I neighbours would be obliged to pay work). Completely false marketing and untrustworthy company. Avoid.
