My dog was booked in for grooming. He is a very anxious dog, and following a previous visit I had specifically arranged for him to return to a particular member of staff with whom he had been comfortable.In fairness this vet was incredibly good with calming him

I was contacted to cancel the appointment because a member of staff was out sick. I have absolutely no issue with someone being ill — these things happen. However, I was specifically told by a staff member who called that the person who was sick was not the person my dog was booked with, so naturally I questioned why his appointment was being cancelled .I'm told this was the instructions of the manager of the Santry store

Unfortunately, the manager takes over the call as per my request, and questioning why my apt was cancelled. I then received three different cancellation explanations from the manager as he was trying the " get out of jail card": first, that my dog wasn't booked with anybody in particular (that's your error not mine he was booked with a specific vet and how do you manage a business if pets are not assigned to vets?) ; then that he was booked with the person who was sick; and finally, after I challenged that explanation as I was informed the vet booked was onsite and managing the sick vets caseload , I was then given another staff member's name who was actually on site, which was not the vet he was supposed to be booked with.. . So which explanation was correct? 1.2.or 3 .. put down that unprofessional shovel and STOP DIGGING!!

I was also very unhappy with the manner in which I was spoken to by the store manager, which ultimately led me to ending the call and making a formal complaint.

Unfortunately, I did not feel that my complaint was taken seriously or that the contradictory explanations were properly addressed.

The cancellation itself was never the main issue. It was the way I was spoken to, the constantly changing explanations from management, and the subsequent handling of my complaint.

I have completely lost confidence in this store and will not be returning. I want to be clear that the grooming and retail staff have always been excellent in their roles; my decision is based specifically on the cancellation without reason, attitude, tone and manner in which I was treated by the manager, which I found unacceptable. Ultimately, I am comfortable taking my custom elsewhere, particularly as I have found Petmania to be more expensive than other pet stores I use.

We are on holidays in Ireland & our dog had her best grooming ever! Rebecca was really friendly & informative. She did a great job - I hardly recognized Bo when I got her back. It took an hour and a half but it was well worth it!
