We rented 3x 17 seater mini buses for a youth football team trip.

Everything was brilliant, will def be using them again

Lovely new van and faultless pick up and hand back. Very reasonable price.
Van hire companies are not all the same.

Their electric van you can hire by the hour is so handy and the service is always quick, easy and friendly.

Hired a van to take to France for a week. The whole experience was faultless, from the initial quote through to collection (great documentation and communication) and then to the return. Would highly recommend and I certainly won't be using any other firm in the future.

I phoned Pitter in a panic when we had a total disaster with a home removals company, and they were absolutely fantastic. They ran through the procedure as fast as they could and we were on the road with a suitable vehicle within half an hour of calling.

Pitter Self Drive West End, Southampton. I've used your company for years and always been very satisfied. But this time the pending deposit of £250 has not been removed when the van was returned 4 days earlier. £250 is a lot of money to hold back from someone. When contacted you stated it can take up to 10 days!! I've now contacted the bank who've removed the pending deposit and its been returned to me. Perhaps instead of upsetting regular customers by telling them there's nothing to be done except waiting 10 days or changing my account to an online credit card for future use, you should advise people to ask their bank to return it!! Unhelpful staff!! Very shocked at this, not what I expect from a company Ive used for years!!

As stated in my review, perhaps instead of stating to upset customers that there's nothing to be done about it you should tell them to contact their bank as it can be sorted immediately by them!!!!!!! I think i made that clear in my review. £250 is a lot of money to hold and your member of staffs attitude was unhelpful when all that was needed to be said is to ring my bank. Perhaps you can train your staff to say to contact the bank then customers won't get upset and stop using you

Fantastic customer service. I hired a van to move house and stupidly booked the dates wrong (1 month out). They were very kind. They didn't have anything left available but they phoned round everyone they know for me and found me a van! What a way to treat a customer given it was completely my fault.

Well, I have hired everything from Fiat Uno Turbos to £80k Mercedes limos since I learned to drive in 1988 but I have honestly never experienced as good a service as these guys offered!

I hired a large transit to move an expensive (£550) hotel mattress across the county and despite collecting and dropping off at the end and very start of the days the customer care was with a smile albeit in the dark on both occasions!

They even caught me on my way out in the morning to return a camera I had somehow squirreled away in one of the miriad pockets Dagenhams finest now offers.....

Van was spotless and quite an enjoyable drivng experience and it gave me more MPG than I was expecting.

Well done Pitter, I'll be hiring from you again!

Good customer service - straight forward easy booking by phone & Friday evening pick-up.
'Out of hours' drop off very handy...
I'd give 4.5 stars - like others feedback, it would seem easier if vehicle came full of fuel, and you then return it full... it's tricky to judge otherwise!
I would recommend to a friend & use Pitter again!

So long as you remember your licence and proof of address, pick up is a breeze. The staff are friendly and efficient and from drive in to drive out was less than 5 mins. Much better than most companies. I would use them again.

Able to drop off whenever you like out of hours due to on site security. A very useful attribute!

I gave 4.5 stars because the following areas that could be improved:
- vans should be full of fuel on collection. Mine was not. This is the fairest way of ensuring you don’t end up putting more than your ‘fair share’ in.
- online booking requires you to wait for confirmation in hours. If you are organised this is generally not a problem but if booking last minute it can be. Perhaps there is a way to automate confirmation??

Disappointingly, unable to book a 24 hour van hire for weekend with local company. This is not the first time I have experienced this with Pitter. Wife told to call back on Thursday when they maybe able to offer something. So, I deduce from that, they could offer 24 hours but they don’t want to and instead will try and use the good old sales tactic of ‘book now for the whole weekend at twice the price or take a chance and call tomorrow’. Really poor, old fashioned, narrow minded lack of customer service.
Hired a van from SIXT from Southampton airport for 24 hours instead for £70 - less than half the price of Pitter. No questions about not being able to offer a single day service.
Won’t waste my time with Pitter again.

So easy to use Pitter self drive hire. I booked and paid online, choosing the exact times I wanted and paid. The van was ready when I got there and I was able to leave my car there (they have a few spaces). I would highly recommend and very reasonable price.
