Daylight robbery
Daylight robbery. I contacted them because my boiler would not light. They quoted me £2000 for a new boiler which they said i needed as the one i had was old, obsolete and no parts available anymore.
The so called engineer gathered all of the information he needed to come to the conclusion that the boiler was no longer repairable without even taking the front off to investigate.
As you do i got a second opinion. Within the hour another engineer turned up, took the front off, gave it a service and replaced one small part. £85 in total.
I sent an email to Premier gas complaining about their conduct but thus far have had no reply.
So they are either so embarrassed to reply and explain their conduct or this is common practise to rip off customers.
If you do want to use this company (personally based on my experience i wouldn't) then please please please get a second opinion.

Many thanks for your comments. A reply to your email was sent from our CRM the very same day you sent the initial email to us, so I'm not sure why you didn't receive it.
Your Britony water heater is very old and more and more parts for this obsolete appliance are becoming unavailable. The water section we were due to replace on another job similar to this one is now obsolete at our suppliers.
We would not strip down an appliance of this age that had not been regularly serviced due to the fact that if we were to have an issue with a part, we may not be able to get a replacement.
A gas appliance thats possibly 25+ years old and not regularly serviced is not something we want to get involved with.
I have no concerns with the way a quote was prepared and sent to you (within a few hours of your initial call) and no issue with the advice of offering to install a combi boiler instead of a water heater to future proof you in case you wanted to add radiators at a later date. The work was quoted at a fair price and presented in writing as a no obligation quotation.
We have been trading for over 20 years and have many very satisfied customers, so I am sorry you felt like you didn't get the best service possible, but do stand by our actions and advice as a company.

Engineer arrived within an hour of calling Premier gas and fixed the boiler there and then. Also gave advice that new parts may be needed in the future and gave me an estimate. Very polite and helpful. Would recommend Premier gas.
