Priory van hire Northwich
Got the van OK the guy that took our info was well.mannered an well presented. The van was in good condition and went well. My problem started on returning the vehicle. I was met by a surly bald headed gentleman (I use thee term lightly) as I tried to enter the building he stood directly in the doorway and without even looking.up at.me.from his pad snarled "KEY" to which I gave him the key. He them brushed me out of his way as he came out the building. I turned to another customer that was also bringing a van back. And I said " nice to see someone enjoying their work" well the guy really took umption to this, I suppose I could have read the situation a bit better, but I really wasn't prepared for the response. The guy sat in a van and just stared at me for a good 10 to 15 seconds then said " Was there any need"
I replied "just a joke mate what's your problem
He said "you've driven this van in here nose first now I've got to turn it round and park it up"
I said to him " no problem mate give me the key and I'll spin it round for you"
"No I'll do it now"
I said "sorry mate but the other guy beckoned me to drive in, I'm sorry"
The guy went round to check the van and from the back of the van I heard him say "d¤c*head" I said to him "hey mate calm down" he replied " ha you won't get another van from here ever"
Now I suffer from Fibro-Myalgia and the confrontation with this man caused me to experience a Fibro episode which presents itself by intense pain bodywide. I actually had to be helped to my wife's car by my wife and son and as I write this I am in considerable discomfort.
OK so what to take from this meeting if you do decide to hire a van from them DONT
If you do for god sake remember to reverse.the vehicle into the yard.on return and don't try to engage with the bald guy.

After no decent sleep for a week i returned and again told will be in touch to discuss some refund. Guess what they didn't and then asked for there version of events completely lied advising i had said i will sort out. It seem from the poor reviews they constantly have would learn but to lie to avoid taking responsibility is unbelievable. I strongly recommend you do not trust. I will be pursuing them in court for the matter of abusing my trust
Make sure you check EVERYTHING inside and out before driving away!
We have used Priory previously to hire a motorhome but this time it was not a good experience.
On getting home with the van we realised the shower tray had a bad crack in it. This meant the shower was unusable for the duration of our trip. We immediately called Priory and took photos and were told not to worry they would sort this out with us on our return.
The vehicle had also not been cleaned properly so we had to hoover out and handwash the floors and the bathroom. The cutlery was covered in cooking oil and plates/bowls and cutlery had food on them so they had to go in our dishwasher.
On our return Priory stated we were responsible for the damage as we had not raised it before we left the depot or during the handover. They refused to provide the handover checklists and we had to go to the BVRLA who fortunately adjudicated in our favour and Priory were unable to charge us for the repair.
We will go elsewhere in future.
Not a pleasant experience renting from…
Not a pleasant experience renting from Priory. Please be very careful when checking the vehicle for damage prior to departure from Priory's depot. Make certain you have a signed copy of the document showing any damage and make certain any damage you find on the vehicle during handover is fully documented and aligned with Priory's team. Unfortunately, we did not complete this process correctly. The outcome was a prolonged conversation not only with Priory but then with the BVLRA ombudsman too. Rental experience completely spoiled. Thankfully and following intervention from BVLRA, the outcome was satisfactory
AVOID: Awful rental experience and worse customer care.
Such a catalogue of problems during our 12 day European trip with this motorhome, ranging from inconvenient to dangerous. Completely ruined our trip we paid over £2,000 for and the manager Cymone refused to offer to even a partial refund despite acknowledging the issues were their fault and suggesting throughout the trip she would ‘put things right’ when we returned.
1. Faulty immobiliser so it only started about 1 in 3 attempts. Couldn’t exchange the vehicle without missing our crossing to France. Turns out we were given the wrong code because they had lost the instruction guide with the correct code on the front, printed out the wrong one and gave the code by memory (incorrectly). Such a huge inconvenience throughout the entire trip and a cause of stress when starting the vehicle in a rush or under pressure.
2. The vehicle had not been checked properly first! The oil was low and needed topping up within a few hours on the road, The Adblue warning light came on within an hour. The door was loose on its hinges!! You could see a gap clearly throughout the trip and they admitted afterwards that it had partially come off its hinges. This lack of vehicle care is unbelievable at any time, but especially before taking the vehicle to the continent.
3. Leisure battery did not charge properly. After hours or driving all day we would arrive and have no power. Despite following instructions it was clearly faulty. We showed videos of it not working after clearly following instructions. Only worked after plugging into mains (which we weren’t planning on doing). Since dropping it off they say there is nothing wrong with it but have not commented on the videos clearly showing it not working.
5. The fridge broke within a few days! It would only work when plugged in to the mains. No good when you’re driving through France and Spain and have no fridge.
6. The cushions to make up the bed were wrong. They were from a different vehicle!! They did not make up a bed so it was really uncomfortable.
7. The main window blind was broken so you couldn’t put it down when sleeping inside. No privacy and no blocking out light!
8. The toilet cassette did not fit properly so every time you emptied it you needed to clean up a pool of using underneath it.
Their manager has admitted to the majority of these errors and has simply offered an apology, said that the staff would be ‘spoken to’ and has ‘thanked’ me for pointing them out.
I’ve given her every chance to offer a partial refund to put this right and she has refused. She offered to reimburse me for the Adblue and motor oil I had to put in right away but she has not done so.
Her staff are friendly but that is the only nice thing I can say about this company. Unsafe vehicle, carelessness and incompetence absolutely ruined our trip. She should be ashamed. You can’t read customers this way and not expect to receive honest, scathing reviews.
Dangerous faults!!
This is the second time we hired a camper van with dangerous faults! The first time one of the tyres was deflating on the motorway, took it for a new tyre to be told it was bald! We did get a free weekend hire as compensation so decided it was a one off! This time the brakes became faulty on the way home-turns out the van has no MOT! Also the door lock barrel came out with the key!! We won’t be using them again!
The best vehicle hire company we’ve used
I’ve used this companies Northwich branch several times company and they are an absolute pleasure to deal with every time. I hired a Luton van from the Northwich branch yesterday to help my daughter move house. We messed them around with dates due to the usual legal delays with home buying and they were so flexible and helpful.
When I picked up the van the team were warm and friendly and the process was smooth and efficient.
The van was immaculate and with half a tank of fuel which allowed me to crack on with the move and replace the dual after. I was shown how to use all the features of the van which was really helpful. The tail lift was invaluable.
The return process was quick and without hassle.
I thoroughly recommend this company and several of our friends have now used them too.
Hired a Luton van Saturday morning…
Hired a Luton van Saturday morning until today. Staff were really friendly and made the process very easy. The van was very easy to drive and everything worked as it should. I have to be a bit picky for a negative with this company. The shutter at the back was a bit difficult to open and close at times and the handle was difficult to lock. However, the tail lift covered this. But overall I can't fault them. Clean van and great customer service. I would definitely recommend and use again.
Motorhome hire
I have been looking to rent a motorhome to go Scotland for a long weekend and I have found this company.
I phoned up told them what I was looking for and they asked if I can come to have a look at a few different ones to see what I prefer they wasn’t pushing anything they just left me to it, Once I chosen the one I sat down with them went over the costings and put a deposit down.
When it came to the day to take it it was stress free I got there is was all ready for me to collect very clean the staff are amazing would highly recommended this company. Thank you we will be definitely using you again when we go away.

Awful the way I was treated turned out of a car and practically put on side of road because there valet man doesn’t want to do his job ..after having a fortune of me treated awful never again!!

Cancelled due to engine fault
Due to be going away on 27th May. Out luxury motorhome came with an engine fault which could not be booked in until a few days before departure. Provided alternative motorhome which only had 4 seat belts for 6 passengers. Was advised by priory rentals to put 2 children in the back facing to the rear. Asked for confirmation in writing from them and the insurance that this was acceptable but refused. No wonder as this is ILLEGAL.
4 days after being informed of the engine fault, 2, 6 berth alternative vehicles provided however specs had been upgraded to Luxury to try and show this was not a downgrade without having to pay partial refund.
Our motorhome has been subsequently cancelled as can't fulfil the booking. Out of pocket expenses form campsite booked now lost. Points to raise. Untrustworthy as upgrading specs to match what had been booked, and acting outside of the Law potentially giving drivers points and court prosecutions while leaving some passengers stranded.

Extremely bad service didn't check vehicle out when booking out then scammed me £500 of insurance excess currently taking them to the small claims court.
Poor service and poor company
Poor, poor service and treatment from this company. I had booked a weeks rental of one of their Motorhomes. They looked very professional and despite having several companies close to me on the Wirral I chose to travel 45 minutes to their business (it turned out they park their Motorhomes in a public superstore car park!)
A) when I arrived to pick up the van the girl who showed me around did not have any knowledge about the van. She was left alone to deal with me and I heard her say ‘it was her first Saturday alone’
B) Key broke off on the back door or the vehicle. I was kept for hours waiting as she called her boss who also couldn’t fix the problem. They had no other vehicle to offer me. When I asked what would happen if they couldn’t fix the problem she just shrugged her shoulders.
C) they gave me a car to return home with a promise that I would be contacted first thing the next day. They also stated that it would be early so I could start my holiday.
D) I had to contact them the next day and we did not receive the motorhome until after lunch on the Sunday. I had explained that we had to be in Devon for the afternoon for a planned family celebration but that made no difference.
E) the vehicle had very little petrol in which I had to fill immediately delaying the holiday further. I thought the least they could do was fill the tank for me!
F) The gas cylinder ran out the day before coming home. When I tried to change the cylinder for the replacement the hose would not fit. I asked several people to check for me and they all said it was not the correct cylinder. We had 24 hours without gas. When I told them about it the response was once again a shrug of the shoulders!
G) None of the access doors on the vehicle would lock which I found out on arrival to Devon. Thieves could easily access the vehicle through the storage section so we had to have the van in our sights the whole week!
H) Considering we had lost a full weekend of our holiday I enquired if we could return the van a little later on the Saturday afternoon. The reply was no have the van back for 11 as specified on the contract. When I tried to explain how we had lost a full weekend the woman replied that she did not know anything about it. We would be fined if we returned it later than 11.
We were refunded the first days fees and nothing else! No apologies on returning the van and no form of compensation for the distress they caused! We missed an important family event.
I am a critical care nurse and this was my first time anywhere for approximately 6 months since the beginning of Covid. I would not use this company ever again. DO NOT RENT WITH PRIORY RENTALS..you have been warned!
