Declined a quote on the basis that…
Declined a quote on the basis that their underwriter classes my property as high flood risk. I've checked the publicly available flood risk information for my address and it doesn't support that assessment, so I asked for the decision to be looked at again.
I was told it wouldn't be reviewed — no explanation, no route to challenge it, nothing.
Mandy, who I dealt with, was dismissive and unhelpful throughout.
Wouldn't recommend.

We understand your frustration, particularly after taking the time to verify the flood risk information for your property and requesting that the decision be reviewed. We appreciate that receiving a decline without a clear explanation or an opportunity to challenge the assessment can feel disappointing and unsatisfactory.
Insurers use a variety of data sources and underwriting criteria when assessing risk, and in some cases these may differ from publicly available information. However, we recognise the importance of providing clear communication about underwriting decisions and ensuring customers understand their options where a review is requested.
We're sorry that this was not your experience, and we'll share your feedback with the relevant team to help improve our processes and communication in the future.
Overall Process Easy and good price
The process was very straight forward with clear instructions and notices of what was included in the insurance cover and importantly what was not. The price was reasonable in comparisons to other insurance offerings

Straightforward cover, great price
I recently insured my studio, Studio Kühü, with Protectivity and the whole process was really smooth. I needed cover for public liability, my equipment, stock and my studio-based business, and their agent talked me through the options clearly, so I could choose the right level of cover for my small creative business. The price was also very competitive compared with other quotes I’d received. I’d definitely recommend Protectivity to other sole traders and small studio owners.
