It took about 3 weeks to get my data which I am thankful for. The first hurdle was dealing with the online messenger which is used as a communication tool between you and the data recovery team. I felt it would be easier if I could just call and talk to someone about my concerns rather than having to use the messenger especially since I didn't have access to a computer once my hard drive failed. I called the number associated with my case manager numerous times and never got a reply. The second hurdle was the electronic consent form that I singed, received a confirmation email for and then days later got a note on the messenger saying that in order to go forward with the recovery process I need to provide the consent form. I was able to provide a picture of the email confirmation from days prior and the process was able to move along after a short delay. The final hurdle was dealing with payment and picking up my external hard drive. The payment form states a price and payment options with a 5% cash discount. I chose the cash price and confirmed via messenger that the amount I am to pay is the cost - 5%. The billing team confirmed that I was correct. However when I went to pick up my laptop and data they wanted to charge me full price. Again, we couldn't connect with anyone via phone and my call was never returned. The second half of the issue when I went to pick up my things was that I was given a little device and my laptop and that was all. No explanation of how the device works, or what I am to do to access the files on the device since there was no cable provided with the external hard drive. I was beyond irritated at that point. The man in the lobby was nice enough to allow me to take my device and reassured me that the case manager would call me back before the end of the day to go over my concerns. None the less, I never got a phone call so I called shortly before close of business and was able to get a cord for the device shipped to me over night and an explanation of how the device works. Overall not the best experience, but it certainly wasn't a total disaster either. The job got done even though the process was cumbersome,

Excellent experience. Great customer service. They understood my problem, evaluated it and responded with the resolution. Using a sample my own file they were able to decrypt the ransomware encryption to confirm the process would work. Once that was done and the ok was given they remotely logged into my computer and recovered all my files. Once I confirmed I was satisfied, they logged back in and preformed a clean up.
This was a cost of 2 or 3 times what the Ransomware criminals wanted to decrypt my files for me,. I would rather pay the professionals then the criminals. And I went with Proven Data Recovery and very happy I did.
I would recommend this firm to anyone who has had the same experience I have had and apparently that number is growing

I went to Proven Data Recovery for help recovering data from a faulty hard drive, after seeing good reviews on yelp.
I am with a video production company so you can imagine we very much needed to recover our files to be able to work.

Mark, Adam, and the rest of the Proven Data Recovery team were able to not only recover 100% of the data I had started to think would be lost, but also answer questions that I had about the process, as well as update me regularly about how things were going. Words can not express how grateful I am to Proven Data Recovery. My external drive crashed and I had NO way of pulling the data off of it. After being a victim to the Cryptowall 3.0 Encrpytion Virus, I had attempted and paid for many different services to help resolve my problem without success. Then I came across Proven Data Recovery while doing an online search. Already feeling paranoid and victimized by anything related to online services, I did not have much hope that this was the answer. However, I was becoming desperate to get resolution. Having an encryption/ransom event occur on a Friday evening and not finding out until I came into work on Monday morning finding ALL my files encrypted and no longer available to me was disastrous. After reading review after review after review, there was Proven Data. I was almost immediately went with Proven because of the glowing reviews. They sent a quick response after my initial online registration, like the reviews say. They explained to me, in detail, about the process and what would happen. I had 4 hard drives and my iPod Nano that I wanted to pull information from. They were able to retrieve files from all but one of my old hard drives because of some long technical problem that, although I am not tech-savvy, I still appreciated the detailed explanation. As for followup, I am actually the one who delayed my responses and authorizations to them, as my emails were not timely. I can't say anything bad on their end.
