RAC Mobile Mechanics Avis 

Booked a mobile brake pad and disc repair. Booking online was an easy process. Communication from Paul the night before and on the day with a ETA. As a women I often find mechanis can be obnoxious. Paul displayed a professional manner, polite and explained the issue and the repair. Payment was easy as you book your repair with £1 from your bank. I found the price competitive especially as it was mobile service. I will certainly look at this service again the future. Thanks to Paul Smith.

Campbell was the friendliest mechanic, really good service, hope he finds some shade on this hot day!

Mechanic came and he started to do the worke and he ask me what do as a mechanic he should know what worke assigned to , the part ordered the is the after market one , when the rescue people came and told me they ordering the original one. After he finished the worke he didn’t explain what he done . When he left I drove the car it saying oil level low Pl add Oli , then I need to call RAC and touch with mechanic and he came back and reset it . It should have done it when he changed the oil .
I disappointed with mechanics and lack of professionalism and customer care .

Repair wasnt checked causing further issues leading to headgasket going. Guy was there 15 mins replacing thermostat housing and didn't check to see if it had flow... which it didn't, even the 2nd break down man said

Easy to place booking online using the RAC app, Dave 5250 called on the day to give his time of arrival which for me was 20min.
Nice polite and informative bloke , who got on with the job of full service . When finished service book stamped and an informative form sent via email with jobs been done for the service and any advisory.
The drive was kept clean no issues.

Please be very wary in using RAC Mobile Mechanics. I was told that the repair would take place the following day after call out, however it was booked in a week later by mistake which they admitted to.

I was now without my vehicle due to no fault of my own & had to use public transport. I kept my travel receipts but they would not refund me as stated in their T&C’s, not even the £99.00 five minute diagnostic test as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience & financial outlay it caused me. I have been an RAC member for over 40 years & have never complained previously. Think carefully if you’ve read this & you haven’t used them before. CC79249684

I have a t6.1 kombi with 11k miles in as new condition that I’ve owned for 6 months purchased from a vw garage I booked in for an RAC service which took place on 3rd August. Mechanic confirmed the van was in very good condition and well looked after. I drove to Portsmouth a week later on my way to France. I then got a dash warning saying reduce oil workshop! This was classed as a breakdown. Nice guy turned up and he confirmed mobile mechanic put too much oil in when servicing. He wasn’t permitted to siphon oil out so we had to wait for another (nice) guy to take petrol from the engine. I am now in France and every time o start the engine I get the same error message as above. £33k van now needs attention + holiday ruined by stress and inconvenience and Portsmouth harbour tickets wasted. Response from mobile mechanic who did the service was far from apologetic or helpful. 0 out of 10 and RAC still liable to remediate.

Ben was great, I don't know his mechanics number but he did a very professional job. He was very polite and friendly and took the time to explain what he was going to do and even took the time to explain a few other questions I had regarding my car. Brilliant job. Great guy.

Notified me 30 minutes before arrival. Neat worker and explained the scope of the service as it progressed. Gave me a concise list of issues to attend to. Thoroughly satisfied.
