Entered one of RACQ’s competitions on instagram. T&Cs state only members can join. Didn’t give me the prize as my insta wasn’t working and they couldn’t find a nearly 40 year members details. Really bad.

My daughter and i decided RACQ for full cover travel insurance to Fiji. We both got covid and it was covered but we did not receive anything for it.
RACQ are fine for breakdown in cars but not travel unsurance.

I am an ex Royal Australian Navy veteran with PTSD and multiple head and spinal injuries sustained during my service and deployment to the Persian Gulf in the 1980’s.
My $1890 mobile was stolen last year, and after tracking it down to an address in Logan belonging to some African people, I went around at 5am the following morning and they denied having it. They refused any knowledge even though it the tracking app put it there. I offered no action would be taken just give me my phone back. No response. I then went to report it stolen at the Coomera police station and sat down and filed a report. I found out two days ago that the police officer never entered anything, Luckily I also went to the Logan police station and spoke to a lovely female police officer who again took my details and apologised for them not being allowed to do anything as it was too much hassle to get a search warrant. NOT HER BUT THE QLD POLICE’S POLICY. After months of having to use a $7 prepaid piece of junk from Cole’s I decided to give my insurance company a go. After two attempts of claims, both being outside of their guidelines I thought that was the end for me. You end to understand as an ex Navy Defence Diver, Aircrew Rescue Swimmer and Leading Seamen Underwater Weapons and Demolitions specialist every day is a huge mental struggle for me.
Just when I thought it was all over, the lovely lady asked if RACQ could offer me a lower amount of cash. The offer was extremely generous, considering the circumstances. You have no idea how much of a relief and burden this act of kindness means not just to me but to my “Veterans with PTSD Suicide Prevention, Boat Restoration and Veterans go Fishing Mornings. We have been blessed by many incredible CEO, Owners of both small and large companies who have responded admirably buy providing some very expensive products and or services free of charge. I have run this program for nearly five and a half years mainly by myself and with the help of a “A FEW GOOD MEN” who come regularly every Tuesday morning for a coffee, shooting the shit and then getting stuck into our main restoration project, a 43ft salvaged sailing sloop, SV Battle Scars. We also have some much smaller project boats which we need to hopefully soon be able to take up to four veterans with PTSD or injury from service, out fishing. NO MAN IS AN ISLAND Without the kind support that companies such as RACQ have shown me and my many shipmates following our Adventures and efforts, I would be unable to continue this voyage of help our many veterans struggles to stay alive due to their invisible mental scaring!

After a recent accident where I was the innocent party. The at-fault driver, however, was insured with RACQ who handled the situation honestly and responsibly, providing me with the claim details the very next day.
Despite not being an RACQ customer, the conversation I had on two occasions to-date had been professional and helpful. They patiently walked me through the entire process and kept me informed at every step. My own insurer fell short of this, unsupportive and never was a match to RACQ customer service.
What struck me most is that RACQ treated me this well as a complete outsider — not their policyholder, not their member. If this is how they handle third parties, I can only imagine how well they look after their own customers. The claim is still ongoing, and I'm hopeful it continues to go smoothly. But based on the experience so far, my mind is already made up. Once everything is done and dusted, I'll be making the switch to RACQ. A sincere thank you to the RACQ team for your outstanding service.

This organisation has gone backwards in recent years. First came GIO. Then they dumped CTP. General Insurance premiums have increased. Claims service is pathetic.
I cancelled my insurances after 47 years with this organisation. They refunded premiums and then decided to debit me for two different amounts.
I lodged a complaint and got told that they would listen to my phone calls.
When finally told that their investigations found that the debits would stand after the refund. I felt its obvious why us oldies are jumping ship from this Gestapo style mentality that we rule.

Yesterday we broke down in our motor home 15 klm out of Warick, we we’re heading home to the Sunshine Coast, ran RACQ couldn’t have asked for better service, a serviceman named Michael attended ,( was fabulous ) found the problem had head office on the line , they organised accommodation for the night, transported us there , then this morning vehicle and my husband and I were delivered home around 5 hrs ! Been a member over 50 yrs couldn’t be without there cover.

This is complete zero, I can't describe who they are, run away, don't even think about their service.

RACQ dragged my claim out over 2 months then denied it over something that had absolutely nothing to do with the damage caused on my vehicle.hard to get them to answer the phone or email back.i will never take a insurance policy with racq ever again and i suggest you don’t either

Wife had a tiny bump with a vehicle insured by RACQ, the rear bumper was slightly scratched, we sent photos of the evidence of this minor scratch, RACQ sent a bill for numerous repairs & total cost of over $2600, this for just a minor scratch.
I will be doing my utmost to make sure they lose this amount by informing friends & family to never trust this rorting company ever.

Thank you to the gentleman that trucked my husband and his vehicle all the way from Fairview to Gladstone. RACQ is well worth it.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!

I have been waiting since February for an outcome or decision for my claim. The repairer declared it was something claimable and provided the evidence. RACQ stated they never received this despite this being sent to them on numerous occasions.

This is further to the previous incompetence they have demonstrated.

I don’t have words for how useless they have been. Myself and the repairer had to send everything multiple times to them.

Completely useless and dishonest service.

Do not address any services or insurance through this mob of fraudsters.

Can't give them a zero or I would. We pay a huge premium for flood insurance, our house floods and then they say its rising damp...4 months of daily calls, mouldy carpet and they declined my claim...absolutely horrendous experience.

I paid for comprehensive motor vehicle insurance with choice of preferred repairer. I made a claim and was referred to one of their assessors who happens to also be the repairer. Talk about conflict of interest. Absolutely unethical business practice. Tge assessment was over in no time and I was told by this guy they couldn't get to it until at least 5 months. To just put duct tape over the cracked paint to prevent water getting in under the paint to the metal. He said he had 4000 repair jobs to get through. Low quote figure to get no push back by RACQ. Stated lifetime warranty on work knowing most people don't keep their cars long so safe for them. I left there and contacted RACQ stating all the above and requested to exercise my options for preferred repairer. The quote was double that of the shonky guy so was rejected. I got a third quote which funny enough reflected close to the second quote. This told me both preferred quotes were doing the job correctly but RACQ contacted the third company and said they want to get one of their guys to do a large portion of the work which greatly reduces the cost and quality of the end result. When I spoke with RACQ about my concerns I was told I was allowed to nominate a preferred repairer but on the proviso RACQ were going to outsource some of the work to their guy. I feel I have no option now. I am totally disappointed with RACQ and have withdrawn my policies from them and won't use them ever again. I will also caution anyone who mentions using them, referring to my apauling customer service abd feeling of being swindled.

Zane came to tow my daughters car this afternoon from Brisbane airport at air park 2 he went over and above board to get car onto tow truck took about 2 hours due to position of a concrete pole which made it hard persistence paid off it was very Challenging but finally got car in right position to get car onto truck Thank you Zane for your help it was really appreciated ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Placed on hold for hours when trying to make a claim. Claims team will never call back and will not respond to emails. The RACQ method seems to be to engage you with a chatbot until you give up.
It took 7 weeks to finally deny a claim on car insurance. Comprehensive insurance from RACQ is anything but comprehensive!

I would like to give a big shout out to Andrew from Clayton’s Towing in Nanango who came to our rescue. We thought we had a hole in our petrol tank but Andrew said we had overfilled the tank & it was leaking through the overflow pipe. We continued on our journey & made it home safely. Thank you Andrew & thank you RACQ

Absolutely disgusting would never deal with this company absolutely rip off policy went up $1000 dollars more than last year for house insurance 😡 and the person that we delt with was so ruid and had a bad attitude

I tried to buy roadside assist online, Put in all my details only to be told had to call a 13 number. The operator only asked me what I had already submitted, except got details wrong a few times. Then told at the end of a long spiel that there is a 48 wait. Not good enough. I won't be going with RACQ.

OMG RACQ - Yes great choice - fast speedy reliable soooo helpful - we've used them twice recently - an Adam for a flat tyre and a tall slim guy for a gear shifter issue - both men were efficient and friendly. Thank you very much.
From reading previous very negative reviews it appears some ( not all ) have arisen because the person has not up-dated their membership or have no membership at all and expect RACQ to rectify their problems out of the goodness of their hearts. Check the T's & C's and get in the real world matey's. !!

I had to re-join RACQ tonight because our membership had lapsed, and I was absolutely shocked by this company’s business practices and its willingness to charge excessive fees in emergency situations.

Not only did they charge the $109 standard membership re-activation fee, but because I needed assistance straight away, I was hit with an extra $140 fee, almost 130 percent more on top of the membership.
Of course I had to pay it, because my son was stranded in the dark alone and an hour from home … but that’s the whole point of having roadside assistance, but it feels like they take advantage of people in desperate situations.

Then to make matters worse, they couldn’t get the car started and it had to be towed, my son was then told it would be a further $170 because the location was over 20 km away.

Honestly, this is daylight robbery! At a time when everyone is struggling, this company is charging exorbitant fees on top of the membership price and capitalising on people in distress.

Really disappointed with how this was handled and how much it ended up costing under pressure. Quite frankly, they should be ashamed of themselves.
