Rainbow Connection Avis 

Ordered 3 nail polishes with no expectation as their website was very clear that there would be a long delay in shipping. Turned up within 3 days. No breakages, no issues, no problems. Will continue to buy from here.

Received stamping polishes that wouldn't pick up at all- as I have plenty of stamping polishes and different stampers, I knew it wasn't user error, but the owner still tried to blame me/my technique for the issue when I contacted them initially asking if there was a way to fix the issue. Very blunt and borderline rude responses, I eventually finally managed to get a refund promised if I sent back the polishes. I would have left it there and continued to use the store as one of the only UK indie suppliers, until I found out that they'd blocked me on social media (seriously!) They also wouldn't respond to emails I sent querying available stock, so I guess I'm blocked there too. As a result I don't really feel secure buying from this seller- I feel like my money's no good here, and I guess they don't need it anyway. I know a few people who won't shop there any more after having similar bad experiences, it's a wonder they're still in business, really. I guess they're fine if you don't have any issues with them!

Update: some time later they had in a limited edition re-run of a long-sought after polish so I bit the bullet and ordered. They cancelled the order saying they suspected it was fraudulent. I see from another review this also happened to someone else. So if you dare complain about the poor service you will be blacklisted! (I contacted the bank and they said the merchant cancelled!)

My wife is a nail polish addict and tells me there’s nail polishes available here that are really hard to find all in one place. Ordered for her birthday. Wife was very pleased, highly recommend for any other husbands whose wives have a nail polish problem :)

I used to be a customer many years ago when polishes were a reasonable price however things have changed for the worst and I will no longer be buying from there.

Back in 2013/14 there was a points system where if you bought a certain amount then you’d get points that accumulate for money off for a future purchase.
This has now been tightened up so now you have to spend a lot of money (£500 for £3.50 off) which isn’t worth it.

Shipping times are actually ridiculous now; expect to wait a week to get a shipping notification.

Also there are secret codes on a Facebook page which are for her “select” customers. Lots of favouritism going on which isn’t fair.

Prices have gone up to the point where a polish under £10 is rare and sale items have only 50p off.

Not worth shopping there anymore. There is only a small competition out there; maybe this is why she does it. I don’t know for certain but I am certain that I am no longer a customer.

Ordered over 5 years ago and spent almost £5 on shipping to find Annette had used a cheaper service also sending 8 polishes in one package which isn’t really allowed. Annette did refund my shipping but I don’t think it’s good practice to do this in the first place.

Chanced it and ordered a few weeks ago as they were the only place I knew of who were stocking several polishes I really wanted. 5 polishes sent by Royal Mail, the limit is 4, package arrived without an ID8000 label on it. I think it’s well known by now by anyone frequently sending polishes that any package containing polishes should have that label on it otherwise you risk the polishes being destroyed by Royal Mail. Seems nothing has really changed in the five years I haven’t ordered.
Lastly I received the wrong polish, Annette asked me to print out a label she sent me and to put the package in a post box with it on - I found this really weird as I wouldn’t have got proof of postage, ended up taking the package to the post office to see I could obtain it and they told me the postage had been used before so not exactly sure what Annette is playing at with that.

Also spoken to several people since about returning items and refunds and they’ve had worse experiences than I have. Annette’s responses are quite blunt and rude and definitely unprofessional.

The only good thing I have to say is that I received the correct polish eventually... after the event that I actually wanted to wear it to though, so that was disappointing really.

I spent £55 in total and expected a lot better than all this.

Fabulous service, no complaints AT ALL. Placed numerous orders on this website over the past 6 months ish, and I have not had one issue- even when an item arrived damaged, it was resolved straight away in a way that worked best for me :)

Rainbow Connection is one of the few great indie polish and stamping supplies web-shops in Europe. They have excellent stampers and brushes, will last you a long time. They have a good selection of brands, prices are fair.

Shipping from the UK to Denmark is not cheap, but compared to other UK nail polish web-shops it is very similar, I have seen higher. If you only order nail art supplies it is cheaper.

I don't remember having issues but I had questions and I got answers and shipping was a few days to a week and that is fine. So far so good.

I always receive great service and only one of my orders have had an issue of the polish not getting to them to be shipped out but I received communication about this. Placed an order today and I had an issue (error on my part) and owner was extremely helpful and my order was shipped promptly. As from my experience I can only say good things about this site and the owner :)

The selection is good and the service mostly ok but there is a serious problem with their stock taking as twice my orders have been cancelled when they find out they havent got the polish i ordered. And no apology or explanation

Edited to add a reply to their reponse .I have received NO explanation only a shopify note saying a refund is given is this an explanation . shoddy customer service.
I have asked for copies of all emails so that I may consider amending my review .

There's no question about it - 'would I recommend this website?' I already have to dozens of people! The only negative is that it's so addictive, Annette stocks new brands, new shades, exclusives... There's always something new to throw my money at. The service is always really quick, questions are always answered promptly and you can see how hard Annette really works to keep us all happy.

Annette is a one woman machine, everything is always done efficiently and she keeps us informed of delays etc. Her turn around time is faster than some big name companies you order from online, which is amazing considering she is Rainbow Connection.
