WARNING: DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
WARNING: DO NOT TRUST RESOLUTION LIFE WITH YOUR LOVED ONES' FUTURE
After paying premiums faithfully for 30 years, we finally had to make a claim. Instead of the support and security we paid for, Resolution Life has given us nothing but the runaround.
Their stonewalling is so severe that they're not responding to our legal counsel. We're left in limbo at a time when we really needed them.
Thirty years of loyalty and hundreds of thousands of dollars paid mean absolutely nothing to this company. If you are considering Resolution Life to protect your family or your future, look elsewhere. They take your money for decades but vanish when it is time to honor their contract. DO NOT leave your loved ones vulnerable to this company's systemic avoidance tactics.
SCAM COMPANY
SCAM COMPANY! I have been trying to reach them for weeks to service my life insurance policy. Website down. Don’t answer their phones. Don’t return emails. HORRENDOUS customer service. Non-existent. Stay away!!!
Voya farmed out my annuity to…
Voya farmed out my annuity to Resolution Life for servicing once I started drawing distributions. In a nutshell, Resolution Life is horrible and servicing my annuity. It does not allow those of us farmed to it to start a customer portal, and yet you dont know that till you call them and they tell you, after numerous unsuccessful attempts. Secondly, due to other earnings, on one account I am trying to have 100% withheld for Federal income tax to reduce my estimated tax payments. Started the process in Nove.ber, 8 days of contacts via emails, calls, letters- including w-4s
. Finally got a letter from them stating they had done what I wanted- only a review of my bank account revealed another screw up on their part. I informed them they need to change their name from Resolution Life to something else as they are not resolving something that should be simple. Shame on VOYA for farming this out.
Resolution life US- Zero stars
Resolution life US- Zero stars. Cancelled my policy back in December. I have since had to repeatedly call to check the status of my return after 2 supposed checks were mailed but mysteriously didn’t arrive. I am now at the end of March waiting for a wire transfer. This company is incompetent and unreliable. My policy was sold to this company without my consent by Voya. Do not use this company.

Terrible to deal with
Terrible to deal with. Another business happy to take your money, but try and make a claim and they drag it out. 10 weeks after the death of my father and they still haven't paid. Continued long delays between emails that request further information. Useless.
An Advisors Point of View
As an adviser, I’ve found Resolution Life very difficult to deal with on an Income Protection claim. Promised timeframes are routinely missed, responses can take weeks, and the process has been highly distressing for the insured. In our case, benefits have not been paid for roughly 8 months despite the claim running for years. I’m also concerned that specialist psychological evidence appears to be discounted versus GP notes. Overall: poor communication and unacceptable delays. The GP wrote in his report I assumed the insured has returned to work because the insured has not seen me for 8 weeks. The insured was getting help from his Psychologist evry month. The GP perhaps could ave asked the Psychologist for an update before writting he assumed.
Don't want to pay the $$$ you're owed.
My DH died at the start of June, 2025. Every inquiry I make (including the forms I filled out) receive the bot answer: "Thank you for contacting us. We're currently experiencing a high volume of requests. We'll update you when your request has been processed." I can never reach an actual person. I'd like to give half a star only because they're so good at taking & keeping DH's money. My first contact was back in June and my most recent is the date below.
Very, very difficult to cancel a policy
Resolution Life are making it very, very difficult to cancel a policy, and thereby stop payments to them. After multiple attempts to cancel a policy, all I have received are AI written automated responses giving no actual specific reason why they haven't accepted the application to cancel . Upon speaking to them directly, they assured me the policy , and payments had been cancelled. It appears that is not actually the case, and all they have done is change my payment schedule.
I have been getting the run around when…
I have been getting the run around when trying to get my money out for the past 4 months. First the say they want a birth certificate and proof of ID with my current address (USA), then it's 'we want these two docs', once I supply those it's another two docs. All of this at $70USD a time. Now they want a photo id. One of the docs I originally sent was a photo id. Enough is enough. Never so business with this company, especially if you plan moving out of Australia.
Avoid dealing with this organistion,
Be careful dealing with this organisation!!. They denied access to my funds for 6 months plus. Once they eventally agreed to to Rollover my funds, they mismanaged the rollover and "lost " my funds for several months. In doing so they shutdown my account making it more difficult to communicate.
Stupid obstacles every step of the way
I was going to give 2 stars because at the very least they were nice on the phone... but then kept trying to get me to do the phone survey afterwards which was pointless because it's obviously not improving customer outcomes. Website won't let me make a profile to view the policy. They got my birthdate wrong which meant an extra day of errands to correct their typo. Just feels like every step so far has a few added hoops on fire to jump through for no damn reason.
Update: i emailed them about not being able to complete the online account the same day i made this review. i tried again a few days later and it finally worked. then they called me a week later regarding the email. if i could give a half star, i would.
Funds returned to Resolition Life failed to provide bank for deposit of the fundswith paperwork
Funds returned as they failed to provide paperwork to bank overseas and as such the funds had to be returned as regarded as money laundering. Failed to provided despite repeated request to provide a direct contact for the overseas bank and me the claimant a direct contact. Causing unwarranted stress in delayed responses to followup and requests for information. Still not resolved. Ongoing issue and fund still to be received. Recommend given the extreme poor work practices of Resolution Life potential clients find a better service. A pity a score of 1 to 5 stars is required as they deserve none. It appears that legal action may need to occur
This company is deceitful
This company is deceitful, they will not change the beneficiary details to BINDING as requested. Get the hell out of there asap.
Bad experience
Seems lm having same issues as many others here. My super was transferred to Resolution life from AIA ( who were great). My super isn’t ready to be paid for about 3 years but the information on the portal is all over the place. I can’t correctly update my address despite saving and redoing ( over and over again). I live in the UK now but have 12 years worth of superannuation earnt while working as a nurse/ midwife in Australia sitting there. God help me trying to claim it. Seriously thinking of rolling it over to a reliable company as l really have no confidence in Resolution life
Has anyone managed to do this?
The Check They Sent Us Bounced
We had an insurance policy and when the person died, Resolution Life sent us a check for the life insurance amount due, however the check they sent us bounced.
It's been days and I still have no idea how they're going to get us the benefit dollars they owe us.
This company never answers the phone. Most times you have to leave a message and hope they call you back in 48 hours. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.
I will never do business with this organization again.
Resolution Life Australia Log In Mayhem
Website login will never recognise my details. I have to get help every single time. It does not send security code to reset. I just logged out and tested it again. Not working. It also does not specify what it wants as your username. It does not say email or policy number. It does not recognise my password, but if I try and reuse it says you cannot, whilst it was not recognising it in the first place. I will be rolling over this account. There are also doesn't seem to be a good way of printing out your statements. Just very user-unfriendly from my point of view.
Very happy to take your money but…
Very happy to take your money but challenging to get it back....
Benefit of the doubt?
Lessons from the banking royal commission don't seem to have reached this company. To be fair, the web portal now has a chat function with real people who seem able to answer basic questions. It's taken me a week (and 3 chat sessions) just to get an acknowledgement that my mailed-in request form & related documents have in fact been received. (Sadly the document upload feature only LOOKS as if it's working.) I now need to wait another "2-3 weeks" before they start processing the request. On paper, the redeemable value of my AMPAK non-super investment has increased steadily but, given the shocking reviews here and elsewhere I'm already gearing up to write my first ever AFCA complaint.
Utterly rubbish in the USA
US customer here. Warning for autopay customers. I was passed on to Resolution Life by Reliastar (with whom I originally bought my life insurance)/Voya (who then took over Reliastar). What a useless company Resolution Life is—verging on deliberate obfuscation to make more money. Quote today: “We never send emails or letters once someone has done autopay”— after I finally got through by phone to ask whether my annual autopay was due or had gone through. So they don’t remind you to pay, and don't confirm you’ve paid, from year to year. Lucky I keep tabs on things. ALERT: The (very polite) sales associate (he gets the one star) also said that after my term is up in two years they will not inform me, but will automatically put me onto a higher annual rate. I can’t cancel that in advance, but have to “call back in 2027 to cancel autopay after your 20-year term has ended.” Just about the most rubbish company I’ve dealt with in many years. What about all the elderly people who forget their premium is due or over? And it was impossible to get through by phone—took me two days. Best to request a callback. If you have to have anything to do with them. Which I’d advise not.
