I was disapointed to be left in the dark as to whether the insurance had been confirmed.
As requested, I sent a confirmation of my no claims entitlement (copy renewal notice from RAC Insurance)by first class post. I also responded to a data request, but I have not received any policy details.

Having reviewed your journey, we can see that there was an increase in your premium as a result of an undisclosed fault claim.
When the quote was obtained you are asked the following ‘Have any drivers had any motor accidents or claims in the last 5 years?’ which you answered ‘No’. You are also advised to disclose any incidents, losses, thefts or claims involving a vehicle regardless of fault or whether you claimed or not.
As part of the insurers validation process and further checks, a search was completed on the search on the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE) database which flagged an undisclosed fault claim. When information is incorrect, we are required to update your policy with the correct information and as a result, caused an increase to your premium.
The correct information must be provided to any insurance company. Had your policy been allowed to continue unaltered, you could have faced serious problems in the event of needing to make a claim. It is better for you if we check your information at the start of your policy so that if you need to make a claim, it can be handled swiftly and without delay.

If it could be less than one star it would be. Total rubbish. Got a good quote so went with them. Got lots of messages saying I need to ring THEM because of security checks. Went through all my question and said they had to put up my insurance by £40 a month basically double. Cancelled the Insurance and asked for refund. Out of £140 odd pound got £12.67!! For less than a week of insurance. Will be taking it further with trading standards. They are dodgy as.....

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We would like to provide some clarity on the reason for the premium increase and the refund you received.
Having reviewed your journey and listened to the call recordings, we can confirm that the increase was a result of the vehicle ownership date being incorrectly entered when you obtained the quote.
When the quote was obtained via Compare the Market, the vehicle was listed as having been owned since 2019. When we called to validate the policy, it was confirmed that the vehicle had only been owned for one week. As this information was incorrect, the policy required updating, which resulted in an increase in the premium.
The correct information must be provided to any insurance company. Had your policy been allowed to continue unaltered, you could have faced serious problems in the event of needing to make a claim. It is better for you if we check your information at the start of your policy so that if you need to make a claim, it can be handled swiftly and without delay.
As a result of the increase, you decided to cancel. When you bought your policy, you agreed to our Terms of Business and confirmed this by ticking a box. The terms state there is a cancellation fee of £25 if you cancel within 14 days. There is also a £60 arrangement fee. You are also charged for any time on cover. All fees are non-refundable.
