I would never use this company again, nor recommend them
I would never use this company again. Items missing from the move, furniture damage, and foreman on the job was impossible to deal with. His impression of women was very low.
scammed a widow
“ I had a moving company come to our house in Conway and give me an estimate to move us in the middle of January. They were going to charge $9,600 to pack our entire house and move us to a storage unit in Statesville that I would’ve had to pay for separately. We found a better deal with Ryder Relocations-$5,973.21 to move our things and 30 free days of storage. Mind you, I was in a bind with Cam being transferred to Hospice and wanted to be in NC to be closer to him, so I had an aunt come pack mh entire house and another aunt and uncle deal and who were gonna take care of the expense part of the moving company. Ryder was supposed to come take an inventory of our house on Saturday, February 10th and move all the stuff on the 11th. I had gone over our house inventory with THREE separate people at Ryder, so I assumed all was good for the move. When they arrived, it was a third party company (Sal’s Moving Company out of Durham) who was subcontracted out by Ryder. My neighbor let them in because Wylder and I were back in NC and they had her sign the contract paperwork for the agreed price before they entered our house. Long story short, they didn’t bring a big enough moving truck for all of our stuff because someone at Ryder hadn’t calculated the cubic feet correctly. Come Sunday, when the second part of the payment needed to be paid, nobody contacted me, my aunt or uncle. Monday rolls around and somehow our price had gone from $5,973 to $17,000 that they were claiming we had to pay (cue the jaw drop). Everyone, including “management” gave us the run around and told us that was the final price because they claimed we had way more stuff than was stated when going over the inventory, which was obviously false because myself, my aunt who packed our house, my uncle and cousin who picked up our dogs and Cam’s trucks the day before the moving company came, had all been in our house and agreed there was no way we had the amount of stuff they were stating. Side note, I was under contract on a house in Statesville and when Cam passed away, I had to retract my offer for several reasons. I didn’t take that too hard because it obviously wasn’t meant to be. But the plan was to close on the house and have our stuff back before the free 30 days of storage was up. Fast forward to today. I still haven’t gotten our stuff back because my aunt and uncle and myself, refused to pay that ridiculous price when a contract wasn’t signed for that price. I had to hire an attorney a few weeks ago because Ryder was threatening to put our stuff up for auction by April 10th if we didn’t pay the $17,000. Ryder, nor Sal’s will disclose the location of our stuff, so I have no clue where our things even are, or if they even still have them. I ended up signing a lease on a rental house to move in April 1st, with hopes I might have our things back by then and that my court case would be settled, but it has not been. I am now paying for a rental that I can’t move into because I have nothing to move.”
-A friend of mine who recently lost her husband
As a CPA, I’m going to do everything I can to have this company audited because this is absolutely immoral and illegal. I will also be helping with this lawsuit and auditing process.
My sister hired this company to move…
My sister hired this company to move her from Ky to Cali over a MONTH AGO - she is still sitting in her empty California apartment at the very moment I write this review. Little does this so-called company know is that the $ they have scammed my sister came directly from her company and they have a legal team that will be pursuing legal action to recover their $ and my sisters belongings. This moving company is shady and after I’ve read the horrid reviews, I’m surprised this company is open and the folks running it aren’t in prison. I’m sure the latter will be only a matter of time.
UPDATE
UPDATE: SCAMS. PLEASE AVOID
Long story short - they did end up coming to pick up, but there was a problem EVERY STEP OF THE PROCESS until I got my stuff FINALLY. BUT MOST OF MY STUFF was gone/missing/not delivered. I was quoted $1700, ended up being charged $2500 only to lose furniture that is worth MORE THAN the moving cost. They are gangsters. I genuinely wish they go out of business. They say they are not a broker but they are. Also avoid I Relocate You, the carrier they partner with. The worst people, EVILS EVER. Stop buying people to leave good reviews LOL
P.S. Even their pick up mover said he quit the job because he wasn't paid. Seems like they are f* all their employees too.
----
RESPOND to me NOW. You guys are supposed to come pick up stuff today and took a deposit already but suddenly no one answers the phone? Is this a total scam? I'm moving out San Francisco (zipcode 94107) please call.
This company is awful
This company is awful! They will scam you. When they came to pick up my stuffs they wanted an additional >$1000 to load my stuffs. They said my stuffs look bigger than they should be even though they were all listed on the contract. To cancel the move I would have to lose $900. I ask them to measure the furnitures to make sure it is as stated based on the numbers of cu ft I paid and they said no that is not how it is supposed to work even though the cu ft are listed. I had to agree to pay the additional fee to not wasting more time arguing with them. At that time, they offered me $50 to write a good review for them which I refused. The drop off was by another company which went smoothly. Scammers. Be ware!
Ryder is strictly a broker of moving…
Ryder is strictly a broker of moving goods. Do not use them, get 3 quotes from reputable movers and decide. Just don't decide on Ryder Solutions. Your total moving cost will go up 100%.
This is a scam they use to get your upfront fee only to find out the contracted driver and movers will charge exponentially more than Ryder Solutions communicated.
Don't fall for the estimate price and don't fall for Ryder Solutions and their business model...it will cost you!!!
SCAM
SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! You will pay 40-50% above your quoted price. Here’s how it works. Ryder gives you a quote and collects a NON REFUNDABLE upfront fee. This is Part A of the scam.
Ryder, however, DOES NOT deliver your stuff. THEY ARE A BROKER. They subcontract the work to local companies like ALL MOVING SERVICES. This is not disclosed in advance. in fact, if you ask, Ryder will repeatedly deny or obfuscate.
Ryder claims to have no knowledge or direction on how your move will be conducted. For example, in moving to New York, Ryders subcontractor’s (ALL MOVING SERVICES) subcontractor (some dude named “Sergi” with no last name from Fairway Moving) contacted 24 hours before delivery to inform me that I would have to hire an entirely new form of transport from him to get my stuff onto the island of Manhattan. Ryder claimed they had “no local knowledge”. As a company in the interstate relocation services business, if you are “unaware” your trucks are prohibited from entering the ***entire island of Manhattan*** that is nothing short ***willful ignorance*** designed to gouge your clients AFTER they have paid the non-refundable fee. Furthermore, Ryder “supervisors” informed me that, if I’m unwilling to pay for this “shuttle service”, I have “options”: said “options” being my belongings will be left in an open space, at the subcontractors discretion, “near” New York.
I explained to the subcontractor that I live on a 4 lane road in Manhattan, thus there’s nothing stopping the any reasonable sized truck from delivering my stuff. The subcontractor told me it was “illegal” for a truck of that size to be in Manhattan. Therefore they were renting a uhaul van to “shuttle” my belongings to my place at an extra fee. I contacted the local DOT. It’s perfectly legal to drive a semitrailer carrying as much as 10,000 pounds onto my street — basically it’s all a lie.
Was this the first up charge in my move? No. That part came at pickup when I was charged an additional 60% for special packing and extra space. The subcontractors reserve the right to designate any of your belongings as requiring “special packaging” services. The fact that you declined special packaging—as I did REPEATEDLY — means nothing to them. They do it anyway and charge you for it AFTER your stuff is loaded on their truck. Here again, I was charged hundreds for “special protective packaging” and then again charged for “more space” than the original quote — despite 3 conversions with Ryder assuring me this wouldn’t happen.
To add insult to injury, the ALL MOVING SERVICES employee refused to let me retrieve or rewrap my belongings, standing between me and my stuff while saying over and over and over things like “I don’t want you to mess up your hair or manicure, sweetheart” “this isn’t your kind of work hun” — intimidating, sexist, and vile.
If you complain, at every point in the process, Ryder points to the subcontractor and the subcontractor points to Ryder.
People are so angry about this, Ryder’s phones are programmed to hang up on you if you use “profanity”, presumably bc so many of their customers are calling them swearing. Hanging up on their shocked and irritate customers is the ONLY thing Ryder Relocation excels at. FIVE STARS FOR HANGING UP ON PEOPLE NEGATIVE STARS FOR MOVING SERVICES.
I inquired with the management as to what percentage of riders delivery services arrive on time and on Budget. She said she couldn’t tell me because they do “thousands of moves per day”. If Ryder does thousands of moves per day and they truly do not know what percentage arrive on time and on budget, it’s because they don’t want to know. Again, ***willful ignorance to claim plausible and legal deniability when you repeatedly engage in the deception of your customers****.
Again, as other commenters have stated, none of these additional charges are disclosed until you have made a non refundable, cash down payment &/or your stuff is loaded onto a truck — thus both your money and possessions are beyond any meaningful means of retrieval when the additional charges are disclosed.
Terrible
I booked with this company who subbed everything out and communicating with their sub contractors and me terribly. They also kept increasing the price. The movers were rude and terrible. Nothing about this experience was positive. Not one thing!!!!
took 3 weeks to get my furnishings then…
took 3 weeks to get my furnishings then both tvs flat screens were broke missing 2 7 ft tall shelfs ,other items were broken it looked like someone ransacked belongings , jewlry was missing, lap[top, they claim truck broke down took them 2 weeks to send another one to get my furnishings
Scammers I would give negative stars if…
Scammers I would give negative stars if could. Before signing the agreement which said non refundable, I spoke to Steve M Moving Consultant at Ryder Relocations who then told me and sent me an email that if I canceled within 72 hours I would be refunded the full amount of the deposit. Because I was still unsure if house sale was going to go through and did not want to pay deposit yet. But Steve assured me if I canceled within the 72 hours I would get a full refund. LIES. I canceled the next day within 24 hours and Ryder would only give me an 80% refund. So I ended up paying 467.16. Anyone that charges as much as they do for deposit is not legit. They own one truck and contract out the work. Go with a legit moving company not a third party contractor. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! LIARS! CHEATS! SCAMMERS!
Scammers!!! Whatever you do, avoid this company!
Horrible service. Do not use this company, they are a SCAM! We were quoted about 2200 originally. We listed out all items for them. When they got there on moving day, the third party hired by Ryder relocations ended up charging us way over the amount. We tried to get into contact with a manager but nobody answers… We also tried to reach out to Ryder relocations however, they are closed on the weekends. They wouldn’t refund our deposit pretty much backed us in a corner. So we paid the extra amount, however the movers themselves told us they wouldn’t take our things unless we tipped them $100 each. They took our stuff but left trash and debris and didn’t bother to clean it up. During the week we were waiting for our stuff, they were supposed to call us which they never did. I had to reach out multiple times to get the status of my belongings. Finally when we did get the update, they told us about 3-5 daysk and they would call us the night before and to be prepared for an 18 wheeler. We contacted our property management company they confirmed that they have had them before and we should be good to go. We also had a huge living spaces truck that came by with no issue. However when the driver arrived he told us he couldn’t make it and that he needed to get a shuttle and it was gonna be an additional $650. Which ended up being a $95 uhaul truck. Upon arrival my partner looked at our things in the truck and noticed opened and damaged boxes. And not opened as if they had fallen through, opened as if someone took a box cutter to them and went through our items. When they were unloading the furniture, I had noticed a bunch of our items have been damaged the coffee table that they made us pay extra for had bent legs and is no longer usable. They lost the supports for my mirror dresser which, we paid for them to put it together and now we don’t get that service because they lost it. My boxes came back looking damaged and the other adjusters legs for my bed were lost. The driver told us someone would reach out to us by Monday however no one did. By Tuesday I called and again asked for a Manager to reach out to me, but no one called again. Finally by Wednesday, I called again and spoke with probably the worse and most vile woman in existence named Farrah. Farrah was rude and condescending. I started our speaking with her calmly and rationally which was met with her screaming and going on a 20 minute tangent. My partner took the phone when he had realized she was becoming belittling and disrespectful towards me. And had a few questions yet she still chose to talk over him and not let him get a single word in. We came ready to talk and find a solution while Farrah came in ready to fight and act like a screaming crook. After her 20 minutes tangent. She then insulted my partner’s intelligence when he explained he didn’t know what cubic feet was in which she rudely said “you don’t know what that is, you should have learned it like 6th grade” like lady, you are probably 60 years old, we learned completely different things. What the standard was in your ancient days, isn’t what was our standard. She just kept screaming and screaming not letting us get any of our concerns in.I finally was able to interrupt her because we did record the entire conversation and I wanted to let her know, something we actually told her earlier but she wouldn’t let us speak and kept talking over us as we told her. She then got super upset saying she doesn’t consent. I let her know she doesn’t have to consent to being recorded as this is a one party state. I tried to ask again about the service I paid for my mirror, and again tried to find a solution however her solution was to scream at me that this conversation had been 32 minutes (in which 20 of it she talked and screamed straight for) and that she couldn’t handle this anymore. We tried to find a solution with this company, we tried to settle this ourselves, but simply because of Farrahs lack of professionalism and class and willing to work with us we have decided at this point we will pursue legal action. All we wanted was a refund on some of the services that where not performed and possibly to get compensation for the over charge, and Farrah refused to be helpful and was honestly worthless in each and every way she could be. We were already irate at the situation, and Farrah has successfully turned just level headed and irate into livid and fuming and again, due to her horrible management skills we will now be seeking legal help as we have tried to find a solution ourselves, but was completely unsuccessful due to Farrah’s lack of management skills.
BEWARE BROKER SCAM
BEWARE - SCAM ARTISTS
They reel you in with low estimates without even sending anyone to actually look at your possessions to properly quote. Once the movers got to my apt, they didn't even want to take a bunch of my furniture due to the size even though we told them exactly what we had. Originally quoted $2100 turned into $4000. The movers said "we will take the tables if you tip both of us $100." Which i did because i need my desk for work.
Once these guys took our stuff, they did not communicate at all. We had to call multiple times to get an ETA.
Once my stuff got to my apartment, even though my complex told us there have been 18 wheelers who have successfully made it in my complex and dropped stuff off, the mover refused and had to charge me $650 extra to do the shuttle service.
Upon looking at my stuff, some boxes appeared to opened with a box cutter. My coffee table arrived damaged - i was told that the insurance would give $0.65/per pound. Lovely! That's like $7 for a $150+ table! On top of that, they charged us extra for them to even bring the table.
We were told we'd be getting a call by a manager on Monday 2/19. We did not get a call. We called the next day. They said a manager would call us. NO CALL. Wednesday 2/21/24, we call and finally speak to the manager Farah H. She was one of the most rude people we've ever spoken too. And hearing the way she was speaking to my partner got my blood boiling. She had the audacity to say "i dont know how you dont know what Cubic feet is, you learned it in 6th grade." On top of that, she was yelling and going on a tangent for 20 minutes without letting us get a word in.
Also, Farah stated that all these bad reviews are from competitors. DOUBT IT
AVOID MOVING COMPANIES LIKE THIS. GOOGLE MOVING BROKERS SCAMS. LITERALLY WHAT THIS COMPANY IS
Scammy and Aggressive
Put in a request to a website Monday at 7:45 for a quick move across multiple states for a job (right under 2 weeks until move date). Within minutes I was called by Robert at Ryder Relocations. In about 3-4 minutes I told him our general inventory and the locations, to and from. He gave me a quick quote which I asked for him to email as he was the first company I spoke to and that I would need to talk about it to my partner. He nudged saying I needed to give him an answer at that moment which I tried nicely to ask for an email quote and my reasoning why I would not give an answer immediately. He kept pushing me and asked for me to speak to my partner while he was on the phone. He also sent me a text with his name but no quote. The call lasted 11 minutes which 6 of them were very uncomfortable and seemed scammy. Shortly afterwards I spoke to two other companies. Robert at Ryder tried to text again within 15 minutes of me getting off the original call with him. Still no actual emailed quote. He then text me aggressively that I needed to get back to him asap. It had literally been 17 minutes. Finally he text again saying it was my loss and he was just trying to help me. In total I received 5-7 texts in a 20 minute timeframe at 8pm on a Monday. This interaction was wildly awkward and very questionable while never actually giving me a written quote just pushing for me to give a down payment of $1300. I’ve moved multiple times and this has never been the process. Avoid this company and their scammy aggressive behavior.
This company is a complete and total…

I hope you’re reading these reviews before you book with them.
I made the worst mistake by not doing research on this company. It took them over a month to deliver my furniture. A month filled with anxiety.
Switch and bait tactics
Priced doubled on the day of pick up.
After everything was loaded, the driver and mover then threatened me that if I didn’t leave a large tip they would charge me thousands more
They put significant damage throughout my home and more than 20 pieces of valuables were damaged upon arrival.
The driver that delivered my items said that I was charged for 1200 cubic feet of space and my items took up only 700 cubic feet on the truck
If you go with this company, go ahead and send your retainer to a lawyer. You’ll need one . You may need a therapist after dealing with them too, I did
I also encourage everyone that got scammed by this company to lodge a formal complaint with the BBB (better business bureau)
With enough reports, we can prevent others from being scammed by this company

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
THEY DESERVE ZERO STARS!!
My daughter used this company to move her things. They started loading her stuff & some @$$hole bullied her into more money, said she had bulky furniture. They waited until the item was loaded to tell her this. Then made her sign papers saying she would pay extra for the bulky furniture. It wasn’t bulky & the company knew upfront what she had. She made her destination, but her things didn’t. When she would call to get an update, they gave her the run around. They wouldn’t tell her where it was, when it would arrive, NOTHING! Her dad called & got the same BS. She had nothing at her new place. She was told she would HAVE to pay cash when it was delivered! It was 2 days shy of 3 weeks before she got her things. And they won’t unload until she paid. They broke the television & a custom made table. This mamma bear is so pissed off! When all was said and done, she ended up paying over double what she was quoted. How are they getting away with this? And how much are they reporting to the IRS?? If it’s all CASH, you’ve got to know they are NOT reporting all that money!! This company is nothing but thieves.
And to the moving company, when you respond to this review, send a personal review not your lame @$$, sorry you had a negative experience. You are NOT sorry!!
Angry Mamma!

Don't forget to report them to the company's domain registrar and there hosting provider. Report them to the Federal Trade Commission. Report them to The American Moving & Storage Association. Report them to the Department of Transportation and to the The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration! In just you dont know this the positive reviews are done by bots!

Company is a complete scam that needs to be sued and investigated by the attorney general. They will steal your money.
Response 2/20/24: You quote low on the initial call. Collected a large deposit. Increased the price 3x over and would not unload my belongings without cash. Stating I signed the fine print allowing this. My luggage was stolen, and 4 boxes broken. I called and emailed 5x and no one would send my contract over or insurance company information to file a claim. I filed a complaint with attorney General and local police department. You stole $4k cash by going up on your original quote (like you did to every other customer), your employees stole my designer luggage, and family heirlooms were broken. This company and its executives are pure criminals and evil.

I called customer service
I called customer service. Still waiting for furniture 3 days now. I cannot find out where my furniture is located. They picked up my furniture and this incident is the poorest customer service and scam. This is stealing. They requested that I send them the BOL. They have the BOL with delivery driver. Paid a lot of money and still don't have furniture. The staff I talked to acts like I should know where their trucks are with the furniture. They refuse to investigate or review documents their. They want me to do their job while they have my money.
