The process for ordering and sending the photos was easy, I got prompt updates/visibility into the scanning process on their side, and got great final results quickly. Overall great experience both times I've used the service.

I recommend scan cafe to all my friends. They are close enough that I can deliver and pickup my pictures and I love looking through all of them when I get the digital copies back. They are very responsive to all questions and I’ve been very satisfied with all their work. Very fast too.

Several media were transferred to digital formats, including some very old, 1940s era negatives. They came out profound. Slides, pictures, negatives, and some old VHS were all done as proposed and priced. Great communications and timely completion.

Quality of scans displayed for on-line review look good. However, after waiting a rather long lead time for their prepaid service, I was notified on 9/5 that the order was complete, balance paid, and would be finalized. 6 days later, UPS shows only label created, ScanCafe's on-line order tracking still does not show a picked-up or expected delivery date, yet ScanCafe today is already asking us to rate the experience.

I was very happy with my rather large order from all perspectives: price, quality and time to complete job as well as secure mailing to return my slides. Everything was flawless.

How this company has received so many positive reviews on this site when its BBB rating is an "F" and other sites have them pegged at 2 or less out of 5 stars, is an absolute mystery to me. However, it's not unheard of for companies to hire PR firms to post fake reviews, offer discounts for positive comments or mine the general populace for positives. My review, however, is a strong negative. Something has happened to this company over the last few years. I purchased over $500 in gift cards for my wife to use completing the digital portion of our family photo album. We sent in about 1700 pictures of which 18 needed restoration. We received a quote and a bill to which I referenced our gift cards. We were advised that the cards could not be used for restoration, that this was a different operation. However, their restoration ad page has the Scan Cafe logo on the top. At the best, this is just another pocket in the same pair of pants. Added, there is absolutely nothing on their gift card page that shows any restrictions or limitations. I filed with their local BBB and learned that this business has an "F" rating. They refused to answer any of the 3 letters sent to them. My next option is small claims where they WILL answer for themselves. This is not a company that you want to deal with. They may have been good at some point, but not anymore.

I recently scanned a lifetime 35mm slide collection (about 10k slides) and a number of video tapes of various formats. Reading the website, I thought I had it figured out and knew what I wanted, but because the order was so large, I called customer service first to check my thinking. Good move! Once I explained what I wanted they explained in detail why my thinking was faulty and the best way to achieve my goal. Every step of the way I kept informed where my order was and when they ran into some problems with my PAL videos, I was kept updated on the status.
The scans are exactly what I needed to preserve my collection and make the pictures available to the next generation. My next project is to pick out the best shots and have them scanned at a higher resolution and I know exactly where I will sending my slides. These guys are good. Their work is excellent and I’m very satisfied with the outcome. One piece of advice – if you’re sending a large order, label each slide sheet individually. It will make sorting the returned files much easier.

They did a good job with the digitizing my slides and got the results back to me, along with a carefully packed box of my originals, very quickly. Unfortunately, there were a lot of slides marred, over the years, with spots of mold or mildew, and there wasn't anything they could do about those, but that wasn't their fault. (Most of the slides had been sitting around for fifty years or more.)

Service is exactly as described - easy and well done. We had 1,987 photos scanned that dated from 1890-2005 - the scanning and image correction was incredibly well done. Highly recommend.

I had ScanCafe digitize some old family slides in 2016 & was very pleased with the result so planned to send more slides to them in the future. For various reasons, it took me until 2022, to get more slides organized and sent in - I sent approximately 600 slides to ScanCafe in December, 2022. This time, however, at first, I wasn't as pleased with the results. While most of these 600 slides I sent to ScanCafe looked great after being digitized, approximately 100 were just plain out-of-focus. I was confident the problem wasn't with the original slides as I had already copied most of the slides years before with a slide copying attachment that fit on the end of my Nikon DSLR. While the slide copier attachment didn't result in great digital copies, it had done a much better job on these 100 slides that ScanCafe had digitized. So, I wrote ScanCafe and expressed my displeasure and asked them to rescan my slides at no further expense to me. I received a prompt response from Sean @ ScanCafe who agreed they would rescan my out-of-focus slides at no additional charge. He sent me a new pre-paid mailing label so I could mail the slides to ScanCafe (I mailed them on Jan 30, 2023), they rescanned the slides to my satisfaction, and returned the original slides to me by February 15, 2023. I have no idea why some of my slides were originally scanned out of focus - doesn't really matter to me now as I was impressed to be working with a company that was making good on my concern and made corrections to my satisfaction. In the end, ScanCafe did a great job of digitizing my old family slides and I would recommend ScanCafe to anyone interested in having their slides preserved digitally. ScanCafe prices are reasonable, they produce great results, and they stand behind their work.

They made the entire process was easy. They sent email updates throughout the process. I sent in old 35 mm slides and they not only scanned them, but enhanced the images. I am very pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend this company.

The quality of the scanned slides and photos exceeded my expectations. It took just over 4 weeks to get them back. The only issue was that the some of the labels I provided on the baggies were ignored and they came up with their own names for the slide boxes inside.
