I wish I had looked up reviews before I purchased a dress from this website!
Just like previous reviews, the web site completely misrepresents what they are selling. The pictures genuinely look like cotton/linen but when the dress arrived, it was cheap nasty polyester. I have contacted them about returning but so far have had no response.

Don’t buy from this company ordered two dresses from them only received one! The dress I received was very poorly made and not what the description was on the website. I have tried to get a refund and only been offered 25% of the cost of one dress. This is a scam company from China Beware!

Ordering was straightforward. Website standard layout .

I was scammed like everyone else. Bank won’t refund my money even though it was in pending. How do these people get away with it.

Experience . Paid 39.95£ for a dress which was nothing at all like the website photo or description. Took ages to arrive . Guaranteed refund but what they don’t tell you is it has to be returned to China at the cost of £23 . I think they rely on you not returning . Was offered a £13 refund !!! Feel I’ve been well and truly scammed .
Wouldn’t touch this company again .

…..Totally agree with everyone else’s comments. A truly awful company and feel annoyed that I was taken in. My experience was exactly the same. Rubbish garments that don’t resemble the web site. One star is one too many!

Wish I had read the reviews before. Took forever to arrive and very poor quality! Never again sticking to what I know and can verify as being not made in china !

Absolute rubbish, nothing like the dress advertised or the photograph on their website. The polyester dress received advertised as embroidered flowers on breathable material. No embroidery but a badly printed polyester. Advertised as XL, no way! Do not waste your time or money, you will wait weeks for your dress to arrive from China. I do not believe that I would receive a refund after I've paid for this dress to be returned to China. Which trading standards do I send this to?

Be careful with purchasing from this company. They suggest they are a family UK based company saying their products will be sent by Royal Mail. They aren’t. They say the dresses are breathable. They are manmade fibres that feel like you’re wearing a plastic bottle recycled. But read the small print for refunds/returns carefully. If you want a refund you have to ask for details. They then suggest you have a 25% refund. If you want a full refund you have to return the goods at your own expense to China first.

The Selby and Rose website wording is ambiguous and misleading.
I received my dress today and the quality of the material is like something my grandmother would have worn - cheap polyester. It is very poorly made.
The dress arrived crammed into an envelope 9" x 7" and consequently was in a dreadful state. Quite unlike the picture of a product on their website.
I am considering going through the return and refund process but, having read reviews, I don't hold out much hope.
I would avoid ordering from this company at all costs.

Wish I could put a minus in! Cross with myself tbh as I try really hard to look out for scams. Still haven’t had a delivery after 3 weeks. I imagine it is going to be terrible quality if it arrives at all.

SCAM!! Ordered two dresses in what looked like cotton or linen. The Selby and Rose website looks beautiful and very professional, emails during the ordering period were very friendly and efficient. Two very badly made cheap polyester dresses arrived. The seams are crooked and the sewing pulls. They are so thin, they fitted in a large envelope! I have started the return process but after reading other reviews I doubt I will get my money back

This is a scam, do not buy from this company. They are not based in Manchester. I am trying to make a return and would have to send it back to China. Clearly I'm not going to do that so the unpleasant cheap dress that doesn't look anything like the photograph will go in the bin.

I would suggest not buying from this company, very poor quality and customer service terrible. Picture and information on website misleading. Ships items from China, awful fabric and nothing like the pictures.

EVERYTHING is BAD about this so called company
They WILL take your money.. they WILL send you some flammable piece of polyester (not linen or cotton) PURE POLYESTER & a FIRE RISK - & totally illegally as items don't even have appropriate (ANY) UK compliant or actually ANY? labelling
They are scammers & I for one am going to sue them
If you have paid them anything at all please please get onto your payment provider & let's claw these payments back
Trading Standards are already onto their case & we can always go to the courts individually (all costs will be recovered as they are not compliant with any shard of consumer protection in the UK) - they are illegally ripping us off & we need to fight!!

I cancelled within 8 hours of ordering as realised all was not right - they simply rebuffed every attempt to stop the order until I received the items' today - only use for them would be to start a bonfire - but as I care for whales I am not inclined - any ideas as to dispose of said flammable & non-compostable material will be welcome

To clarify - your website and social media posts are anything but clear - about product description., origin & returns/refund policy..
Can you please confirm what means a full refund? Does it mean I will have to return the goods t(tracked) to China at my own expense then only get 15 - 39% refund of my money?
This directly goes against distance selling rules in the UK.

Completely mis sold goods - I bought a "linen embroidered" dress according to their website and received a grey package with polyester piece of material - abysmal quality.
Like others offered a 25%, then 35% refund or to send the package back to Asia at my cost.

Total scam site

Like everyone else I was misled into thinking this was a local Machester based company. Same issues also. Nothing like the dress I ordered, dreadful fabric. When I complained they offered me a 25% refund and suggested I gift the item to a friend. As if! Bank now looking into it for me. I’ve never been scammed before - really thought it was a genuine site

If I could give a minus score, I would! A very long wait for delivery and not obvious on website that items come from China. The quality is very poor, polyester - not cotton or linen, seams ‘mean’ and poorly finished and the ‘fit’ quite unlike the photos on website. I would strongly urge people to avoid this company. I am going to attempt a refund but from other reviews, I don’t hold out much hope!

If I could give it minus 5 stars, I would. Although customer services was communicative and friendly, the item received was completely different from what was shown on the website. And although I proved this with comparison photos, & complained, the only option that was given to me was to process a return - or receive a discount. It cost me over £20 to return to China. I'm angry with myself for purchasing without doing more research, and disgusted by the unethical nature of this company. Be very aware.

Yet another company claiming to be high end British shop. Chinese, poor quality rubbish. Don't understand how these companies allowed to advertise using such falsehood
