SENTIA Spirits founder Professor David Nutt has been a pioneering force in psychopharmacology for over thirty years. He has published more then 500 original research papers and 34 books on a wealth of topics in psychiatry, from his early work in sleep studies to his more famous interventions in drug policy and the study of addiction.

Och I really wanted to like this but…
Och I really wanted to like this but the taste of the black is exactly like cough syrup. I can vaguely mask it with ginger beer and lime but it’s a strong taste! Furthermore, I didn’t get a buzz/chill-out/sociable, tried it twice now, 2-3 drinks each. I do think at some stage I will try the gold in the hope it’s more my taste and has some effect as I do love the science behind it.

Thank you for your review and we are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the taste of GABA Black. Black is one of our more challenging variants due to the peppery and full bodied taste. GABA Gold is much easier on the palate with its refreshing citrus notes.
We are also sorry to hear that SENTIA's effect is not working for you right now. This can be for a number of reasons:
Individual variances: Your GABA system is very much your own, and individual chemistry varies from person to person, so the experience of SENTIA will vary too.
Alcohol in system: Regular alcohol drinkers may have a high tolerance to GABA release, which will moderate the SENTIA experience. Studies suggest that you can reset your tolerance to GABA release by refraining from drinking for 2 to 3 weeks.
SSRI’s: (Selective Serotonin Inhibitors) anti-psychotics, tranquillisers and some epileptic medications may inhibit the effects of SENTIA.

I’ve tried Sentia Black and Gold
I’ve tried Sentia Black and Gold. Both have a good flavour but Black is my favourite. Haven’t tried Red as it sounds a bit sweet for my taste.
As a drink it is very satisfying and I really like the peppery after taste of black. Tried several mixers with it but find chilled sparkling water best.

Hello again sentia, the red makes a wonderful addition to jus or goes well with cloudy apple, the yellow with a bit of OJ and pineapple and the black hopefully with a touch of something marvelous to make an espresso martini, I wouldn't know as I gifted mine! Looking forward to another selection and some sparkle (food safe of course) yours truly, some hot Irish chick, apparently....

Am a big fan of the company and product
Am a big fan of the company and what they're doing. I like all three versions (esp with ginger ale) and the red and dark version both make me feel more relaxed (the gold one is "merely" a very pleasant mixer).
The company is a delight to interact with. I once had a mix-up over a credit card payment and they sorted it out v quickly. All in all - fab company and product and happy to recommend.

We appreciate that SENTIA is on the pricey side. Alcohol is cheap to mass produce, making a bottle of SENTIA Spirits is a complex process. Our ingredients contain high quality functional plant botanicals such as Ashwagandha, Tulsi, Sage, Nigerian Ginger root and more sourced from fair-trade suppliers around the world. SENTIA Spirits cost more to put on-shelf, than a premium alcohol spirit does.

I will buy a bottle for parties and functions
I have tried 100mls on 3 occasions now of the red and am starting to appreciate the effect. The first time I felt unsettled as I was unused to the sensation. The second time I like the flavour, especially with Indian Tonic, but my wife is less of a fan. While I would not buy it regularly as I don't drink alcohol, I will buy the odd bottle to take to parties and functions to share with other non-drinkers.

Very disappointed with Sentia
Very disappointed with Sentia. In my quest for an enjoyable non alcoholic drink I ordered both the black and the gold. The taste of the black one, I found very medicinal even with a mixer and the gold more palatable but not particularly good. Even though I am a non drinker, I felt no effects at all. I could have been drinking orange squash!
An expensive experiment on my part.

I love the idea
I love the idea, I also love the taste, I purchased a gold, and a black bottle. I tried them both as shots, just to get a sence of flavour etc, the black one is interesting, with lots of flavours leaning towards a bitterness that I quite enjoy.
The gold one is just lovely,colour and flavour wise. Leaning more towards a sweetness, but definitely not over sugary!
I also mixed them with tonic water and enjoyed both. more as a long drink, rather than a shot!
I'm really happy to use this as a substitute for alcohol, it tastes good, I have felt uplifted and more chatty, but I think the biggest buzz for me is that I'm not drinking alcohol everyday. My sleep is much better and I feel a lot more energised in general.

Delivery took longer than most companies, and the flavour was not well described on the website. The dominant flavour was licorice, and this was not mentioned.

I liked the herby taste
I liked the herby taste. I took the 25ml with some lemonade and at first I felt a little lightheaded, but then more relaxed. It was a quite different feeling than being intoxicated, if anything I felt more sober than normal in the sense of being deeply focussed and relaxed.

A great switch from alcohol.
I keep wishing Sentia was more widely known and also available in pubs and restaurants. It’s such a great way to get that warm, relaxed feeling that many use alcohol for, but with none of the drawbacks. Try it - it’s worth it!
