Had an amazing time with snowminds, the people from snowminds are very nice, and the help you get from the teamleaders during but also after the course is priceless.

Mijn ervaring met snowminds was geweldig omdat de reis en training heel goed was geregeld en omdat snowminds voor geweldige teambuilding heeft gezorgd. Ik heb de 4-weekse opleiding in Obergurgl gedaan en heb daar vervolgens ook zelf lesgegeven. De opleiding van snowminds zorgde ervoor dat iedereen elkaar leerde kennen en stimuleerde ook dat de culturen goed gemixt werden. Zeker aan te raden dus om met snowminds op reis te gaan en ik kan Obergurgl ook als bestemming aanraden!

Amazing people. The team leaders were so welcoming and helpful with answering all of my questions. Really good activities planned which made us close with the whole group.

If you're seeking an immersive ski experience, I highly recommend Snowminds' two-week skill development camp in Austria. Julia, Mads, and the team organised everything really well. The hotel, accommodations, location, and food were all good quality. I learned a lot and made significant progress in my skills. My instructor, Werner, was excellent—patient and experienced. It was a relief not to worry about meals or entertainment as the Snowminds team handled everything, from lunch reservations at the best huts to finding the best bars and après-ski spots. The group I was with was diverse and a lot of fun, which made the experience even better. Thanks to the camp, I can now confidently do short parallel turns, navigate the mountain, and whizz down steep blacks—achieving my goal for this camp. Plus, considering skiing can be expensive, I found the camp to be well-priced and great value for money.

I'm already planning to attend the advanced camp for next season. We were beginning to learn how to carve, and that's my goal for next season.

I did the 3 week off piste camp in Dorfgastein, Austria in January 2024. Everything about the experience was great - the Snowminds people, the location, the terrain, the hotel - EXCEPT the camp itself.

It seems to me that Snowminds sold me and the other off piste campers a product that its partner ski school could not deliver on. My perception was that more energy was put into marketing Snowminds to future customers than delivering the camp that was promised.

There was no discussion of individual goals for our own skiing at any time. There was very little in the way of technique coaching - though there was a more of this from the second week after I gave some feedback. However the purpose of any drill/exercise was never explained and were not given a chance to practice to consolidate development. There was no video analysis. Our instructor was more like a backcountry-certified guide who told us where to ski. That’s fine if it’s what you want - however the Snowminds website describes the camp very differently.

I learned literally nothing from my camp experience - no technique improvements, and no backcountry knowledge. I’d be surprised if any of the campers left better able to avoid danger in the backcountry, because that was discussed very little.

When I brought attention to the gap between my experience and how the camp is described on the Snowminds website, the response of the ski school was minimal. The Snowminds team were receptive to feedback but it didn’t change much of the in-snow experience for me.

I’m afraid I can’t recommend the Snowminds off-piste camp.

EDIT JAN 2026:

It’s now been two years since I went on the 3-week Snowminds course in Dorfgastein. I’m currently on a four week off piste course in France and it’s just reinforced how poorly the ski school in Bad Gastein managed our course in 2024. We are learning things everyday here about technique, safety and all things off piste. Yet our instructor at the Snowminds course told me had nothing to teach me! I gotta say I’m still dirty about travelling halfway across the world to do a course that wasn’t as advertised. I hope things have improved since then and that you have some different instructors who are prepared to actually do their job rather than just showing us where to ski.

As above, can I say again that everything else about my time in Dorfgastein was great and I hope the Snowminds crew is doing well.

Went with snowminds to do my basi level one.
Was very lucky to have two amazing team leaders in Hans and Valdemar. They were able to help me with everything from the skiing aspect to accommodation, food, banks, visa and so on. Everything I needed. It made the whole experience quite enjoyable as I knew there would be a solution for everything.

Jeg har deltaget i 2 ugers teknik camp i Dorfgastein i år med snowminds og det havde været en uforglemmelig tur. Egenligt skulle jeg havde taget en instruktør uddannelse, men blev forhindret pga. af studie. Jeg var så heldig at snowminds kunne guide mig mod deres nyere camp koncept. Jeg var lidt skeptisk først, da jeg først havde forstillet mig at tage en helt sæson, men det skuffede ikke! Campen var en lille mini sæson. Samtidig med at blive bedre på ski med de sødeste instruktører, mødte jeg en masse nye fantastiske mennesker med samme interesse som mig. Udover det fik jeg et kig ind i, hvad det vil sige at tage uddannelsen og også hvilke steder der vil passe bedst til mig i forhold til mine præferencer. Jeg er ikke i tvivl om jeg skal tage en sæson næste år, hvis det kan lade sig gøre. Det skal også siges at teamlederne var skønne og hjalp, hvis der var det mindste. Rejser man med snowminds kan man være sikker på at få en mega fed oplevelse.

Tusind tak snowminds, jeg glæder mig til forhåbenligt at kommme afsted igen til vinter!!!

I had a great 2 week Snowboard Performance camp with Snowminds. I have learned a lot and had a lot of fun whilst learning it. What really stood out for me was the Snowminds staff that were with us during our stay (Joost, Pär, Maria, Julia, Trine). From the first phone call before the start, to everything there on site, they are always very helpful, professional and genuinely go out of their way to make sure everyone has the best experience possible and are just really nice people in general.
What could have made my trip better? By far the most people on the trip came to get their teaching certificate. This meant that most people there were between the ages of 19 and 23: just finished with secondary school or university, taking a gap year to ski. I would have liked a more mixed group with some more older people. Another was the location in Dorfgastein. It is a cute village but there is hardly anything to do and very limited après ski. For that you had to take a bus to the surrounding villages, which could take quite some effort every time and you could not get back easily after 19pm.

Amazing company/ friends! they will guide you through everything so good that you don't have to worry too much. Amazing experience quickest weeks of my life!

I had my anwärter training with snowminds in Dorfgastein. The team was really nice and the two days of training before the anwärter course started also helped a lot. Next to the anwärter subjects snowminds also organized other info presentations that were very helpful. Besides the anwärter training they also arranged a ski school for me which can be hard to do by yourself when you do not have your anwärter yet. Overall a very positive experience :)

Loved every minute of the snowminds dual course! made the most amazing memories and friends!
