Stay away!!

I got my solar panels installed in Jun 2023 and Solargain replaced my original RCBOs with another brand.

While doing another work, my regular electrician found out that the RCBOs installed by Solargain don’t trip at all…..essentially my entire family had been sitting on a ticking timebomb for the last 2 years.

I spent over $800 replacing the RCBOs. I have sent the detailed electrician report, videos etc to Solargain asking for a refund but a month later, there’s nothing. Apparently, they are waiting to hear from their supplier.

The awareness of checking RCBOs to see if they trip is very low. Can I please ask everyone reading this to check their RCBOs in case Solargain have replaced your switches. It could be a matter of life and death.

Don’t trust what they claim. Contrary to their claim that they care and provide regular updates, they don’t as is clear from my example.

Please choose a provider that really cares. Solargain is clearly not one of them.

Company installed 2 months ago and left with no connection. I've been told business never submitted paperwork to retailer. Dodging my calls and callbacks. Scam company. Don't believe the reviews they are incentivised to customers.

I’ve had the best experience with Paul Harris discussing solar. I get tired of salespeople “promising” you’ll sell your house for more if you have solar - and no, that doesn’t happen. Paul never tried that tactic and was more honest than any other salesperson I’ve experienced lately. He actually told me that a battery, on a cost basis, for me as a single person in a house, would not be needed and knew not to oversell things. the customer service officer was extremely helpful and patient with me regarding how to reset our solar panel system to reboot and reconnect with our wifi system as it had lost connection and energy was not being sent back to the grid. They guided me through the process set by set over the phone, they called back when they said they would & sent a hard copy of how to rectify the problem for future reference. Also received a follow up email a few days later to ensure everything was still working correctly. Very happy with their customer service.

Solargain was very thorough in their explanations and documentation for the installation of a home PV system. The price was decent, and the installers themselves were very professional, friendly, and did a great job.

They went beyond other companies on the quote looting at overhead shots in winter when the sun is lower and suggested to have a tree removed before winter. Looked where was the best place to mount the control unit. Then the guys that rocked up for the install did a fast and as an electrician myself what I could see was a neat high quality install.

This firm is as straight as a gun barrel!
I was dead keen to add to my solar & battery that I already have so I asked solargain to come and quote me. So very nice gentleman came from Taunton how turned out to be the boss, well he listened to me looked at what I have, and told me it really wouldn't be worth me doing it he could put in extra for me the return even with another battery
Would not warrant my financial outlay how many companies would just want to sell you £8,000 worth and not be honest and tell you basically don't waste your money. I only wish I spend some money with this company I feel confident you would get a good job and not get taken for a ride I can't say any more just I am convinced he is an honest man.

The experience was very good. Smooth and extremely easy. James came out to disscuss and quote. He is easy to deal with and not full of the usual sales BS. Upfront and honest. The install guys turned up on time, where quick and tidy. Chose solar gain over the usual cold call guys due to the good reviews and the security of a long standing company that wint disappear on you if warranty work is required.

The sales rep was lovely, very knowledgeable no pressure. The service techs were also really lovely, considerate and did a great job with the installation. I did end up getting a system that is battery compatible and didn't realise Solargain owns the battery company. I'm sure its an awesome company but would have been nice to know as i think it could limit the battery options as they are the main supplier from what i can tell. Either way the batteries for their IStore system seem to be fairly affordable compared with other systems, just would have been good to know as i might have researched this a little more.
