Left to deal with a 20k mess

After having spent 20k on a solar system I've been left with a very sour taste .
Communication is definitely not a forte at solar run . Damaged panels on battery ( they did get replaced) sloppy install , missing parts that were never used .
And now that there's a recall on my inverter .
(Fire hazard)
It's been 6 months since the recall and solar run still has no clue when replacements will be available .yet new installs power ahead and updated inverters are readily available online within days. Lack of response and contactabillty is normal I guess .
It's a fricken mess !
If you can avoid these guys it will be the best decision in your attempts to become energie self sufficient.
I just want to rip it off my wall and start over .

Make solid installation agreements.

I was not happy with the job being delayed numerous times. It took just over 3 months from date of order to the date of installation. On the 23rd of December the Solar Battery was installed and working solidly from day one to now. I am totally satisfied with this. The system is running as it should with no hiccups to date.
The installers of the company were not friendly or helpful in explaining or answering questions.
The panel of the switchboard was pressed hard against the electrical wires behind the switchboard and the panel was bulging. This reason was that the obsolete electrical wires were not removed from behind the panel. The installer-electrician’s Certificate of Compliance showed that I needed an upgrade of the switchboard. I contacted the installer-electrical technician three times to do the upgrade of the switchboard, because he is the obvious person to perform the job, but no reply to my text-messages and e-mails. This also became an extra cost on top of the price of the solar battery system.

Never return calls and No difference in electricity bill

I went with a Solar Run battery and inverter, paid 10,000, there has been no change in my electricity bill. I called them 3 times and they have an answering company to take messages but no one calls you back. Stay away from them. There is something fishy about this company. A message was left here since I posted this review to give them my phone number but I have already left my phone number three times over two weeks with the answering service and how am I supposed to give my phone number here? So Len has called me and she kindly instructed me on how to check if the battery was working. That's all I wanted. I will wait to see if this gets sorted out and may remove or update the review. I am grateful that someone finally contacted me.

Forget about warranty with Solar Run

Inverter came up with the relay fault while under warranty. I have tried calling them 2 weeks consistently everyday and they take my details saying someone will get in touch with me but no one does. I have emailed them multiple times still no response. Solar run claims to provide 10 years warranty on their invoice, I contacted Growatt the Inverter manufacturer and they said they only provide 5 years warranty. Now I am stuck in a limbo until I get it fixed myself or take solar run to court to claim the loss of energy production as well as replacing the unit under warranty.

Quoted for 19.2Kw battery and ripped off

Quoted for 19.2Kw battery and salesperson was on site. Later said they couldn't install that battery as it didn't match my other battery 16Kw and would give me a refund of the difference 3.2Kw.
When contacted some time later was told that I would only be getting $450 as I don't get the rebate. Asked for the module to be dropped off at my residence and was told it would cost me $1400? It was already paid for in the quote.
He said that he would not give me the module. I don't think this salesperson is very knowledgeable as after inspection he said that it would be OK with the 19.2 battery?

Horrible

Horrible, rude company to deal with. Essentially scammed me out of $6600. Then blocked me. Can't make contact with them at all.

Solar Run Kilmore one in a million

I attended the Show in Melbourne in April 2021. As new homeowners often do, I entered every competition available, so I was hounded by many companies in the following months, particularly solar companies. At that time, it was just a possibility, but I obtained some quotes. All the companies sounded the same: hyped up, excited, impatient, and persistent!
I can't recall how I came across Solar Run, but it was an entirely different experience. I had expected the cost to be higher than others, reasoning that being local, they would have to back their products up long term. I was pleasantly surprised that they were among the most affordable. What impressed me most to begin with was their patience with questions yjat others deemed irrelevant and their ability to break things down into terms I was able to understand. I usually just leave all the technical stuff I don't need to know to the professionals, but Tim and Jenny ensured that I understood the process, the way the system worked, and provided alternative systems and quotes for me to consider.
As a neurodiverse single mother just trying to keep it all together, I procrastinated for quite a while. Other providers showed their impatience by threatening price rises and cuts to government rebates, I was confused as to who was from which company and eventually blocked all of their numbers. When Tim or Jenny checked in, it was to provide me with solid information about availability of the quoted equipment and alternative options, to make sure I was okay, and to ensure there were no unanswered questions – good old-fashioned customer care! There is no better way to put that! There should be a Solar Run logo next to that quote on google search!
I have had some seriously appalling interactions as I've gone about adding essential features to my newly built home, too many to mention, not to mention the build itself! So, when I come across someone who is knowledgeable, patient, empathetic, and genuinely interested in meeting my individual needs as a customer, there is really no decision to make other than what exactly we are going to install and when!
The installation was extraordinarily quick and did not disrupt my family or our routine at all.
And then I started saving money!
The follow-up has exceeded any expectation. I have spoken to Tim or Jenny on many occasions since, and here we are, four years later, and they are still there for me as a customer. I haven't had any problems at all with the system, but I have needed assistance when I switched internet providers to ensure the app works appropriately. Tim has popped around and changed settings for me while I was at work, so no disruption at all.
Solar seems to still be something everyone is interested in but hesitant to commit to because they are skeptical. I have lost count of how many times I've recommended Kilmore Solar Run! Even as far as Rye, when my uncle mentioned his interest, I encouraged him to call Tim for information.
I rarely recommend a business because truly caring and consistent customer service is so very rare these days. But I never hesitate to tag them on community Facebook pages or to friends and family, and I know when someone follows it up, Tim and Jenny take care of them and always thank me for the recommendation. For those who have followed through with the installation, I have always had them agree with me .
I enjoy electricity bills in credit through the Summer and into Easter. Even with the 75% drop in feed-in Tariff, I'm still enjoying benefits and learning to use my system during daylight hours.
When it comes time to install a battery, I will not be looking anywhere else. Solar Run will be my go-to.

SOLAR RUN GREENVALE NO SHOW TO APPOINTMENT TIME WASTER

Was chased proactive by Greenvale Solar Run with a view to installing a 6.6kw solar system & battery, ready to commit once quote provided.

Booked for 11am this morning 24/11/2023.

11.30am no show, so I texted him, response was "still in Sunbury due to a problem at site. Then he called and tried to rebook, im located at Hughesdale vic; 45 to 60mins away. NO I SAID

Wasted my time and stuffed my day up, now full of excuses and promises.

I'm fed up with these modern small businesses WASTING MY TIME AND ZERO PROFESSIONALISM yes full of appologies.

The customer is why you are in business, they pay you, if you make an appointment turn up on time or ring before to say you will be late, that's the professional way.
