Wow, what an amazing trip we had!! Everything went so smoothly in terms of pick ups and drop offs and the tour guides and drivers in each area were fantastic. We were very impressed with Sth America travel and so many of our friends who followed our trip on Facebook, have expressed interest in doing our same itinerary.
Definitely a 5 star experience in every respect.
When planning our trip we knew the places that we wanted to see and it was great working alongside Christina designing a tour that best met our needs. Christina was fabulous with prompt responses to any of our questions and she really worked hard to ensure we were happy with the final plans. Having a private tour for the four of us and having everything so organised meant that we could optimise our time to see the sights while having the flexibility to make small changes along the way such as spending a little longer at some places, stopping to take photos etc.
Thank you Christina and your company so much for making our tour of Sth America such an unforgettable experience!!

My husband and I booked our honeymoon to Brazil through South America Travel and it was probably the easiest part of our entire wedding planning. We worked directly with Seán McBride who listened to exactly what we wanted and created the best itinerary. Our travel was a breeze... from flights to hotel accommodations to transport and even personal guides, it was effortless. Seán kept in contact during the entire planning process, was diligent in emails and calls, keeping in mind the time difference, and was available to us at all times. He gave us personal suggestions on places to eat and hang out and cautioned us on safety as well as preparing important documents such as visas for entry into Brazil. He even followed up after our trip to make sure everything went smoothly.

We would highly recommend South America Travel and Seán to anyone who would want to explore Brazil! We hope to work with them again in the near future!

Due to illness in the family, I had to postpone our Peru/Galapagos trip after paying in full. Jon Hilstead helped to recover some of the deposits, and rearranged our itinerary to take place 6 months later without fuss. The arrangements for hotels and being met at airports, train stations, bus terminals were so smooth that they appeared effortless. I worked administration for 3 decades, and was a logistics officer in the reserves - I know how easily things could go wrong when some 12 hotels and 15 journeys are involved in such a short time frame, but everything worked without a hitch. Even a 2 hour delay that resulted in a 1 a.m. arrival did not faze anyone. The driver met us at the bus terminal, and ensured we were checked into our hotel before leaving. The guides were experienced, itinerary excellent, hotels comfortable. The 3+ week was meant as a once-a-lifetime trip for my wife and I. We were not disappointed! Kudos to Jon and SouthAmerica.travel.

Had a wonderful experience with SouthAmerica Travel exploring multiple cities in Peru. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and very passionate that it didn’t feel like it was just a job. Really enjoyed the whole adventure.

Worked with Jon who set up a great trip to Peru. All pick-ups and transfers from the airports, train stations and hotels worked without any problems. The guides were very enthusiastic about showing us around and explaining things to us. The hotels were all excellent and the itinerary that Jon set up was exactly what we wanted to do and see everything we wanted to see. Thanks to Jon and South America travel, I will know who to get in contact with the next time I want to travel down south again.

We had a great travel through South America Travel but we were disappointed with a few hotels throughout our trip in particular hotels in Igazu falls and Easter Island. Other than that we are happy with South America travel overall.

Annica from Southamericantravel.com was a joy to work with; professional, timely in responding and patient as we worked through the details of our trip to Peru. Once we arrived, each transport was on time, very professional, and accommodating with our special requests.

Our itinerary included 1 day in Lima - we highly recommend the evening culinary tour, one of our favorite activities! Our stay at the Sandoval Lake lodge was good, but don't do this if you're not ok with being out in "nature"...lots of insects and arachnids on our hikes, and it is in a preserve so there's no "controlling" what you might see. Guide was exceptional and the service at the lodge was amazing though for outdoor enthusiasts! We stayed at the Hotel de Yucay in the Sacred Valley and this was our favorite accommodation. Beautiful, quiet hotel - wonderful property! Machu Picchu didn't disappoint, and our climb up Machu Picchu Mountain was strenuous, but worth the view at the top! We recommend this for those that are physically able. Took us about 4 hours to go up and back down. Final days included a city tour in Cuzco of more ruins and a beautiful monastery.
Overall we are so pleased with this trip! We highly recommend using South American Travel, and Annica! We were prepared, well taken care of, and had an amazing trip!

My wife and I were very pleased with SouthAmerica.travel with our recent trip to Brazil. Customer Service is top notch and we would not change a thing with the itinerary. It was a full trip visiting the amazon, falls, and Christ Redeemer, but we never felt rushed and already reached out to start planning our next trip to Peru!

All of the accommodations were as expected and the transfers were seamless. All of the tour guides/drivers/handlers were also knowledgeable, friendly, and dedicated. I will recommend you guys to my friends and family! We all had a great time, and we appreciate your work!

One thing that I think should be made available to future customers is a cost breakdown of each portion of the trip (like how much per person a given day tour costs, or how much a given transfer from A to B costs). This allows the travellers a reference point for how much to tip. The overall tour package price provides no points of reference.

Inclement snowy weather at a border crossing between Chile and Bolivia was the only real hiccup. The emergency contact number provided by South America Travel was readily answered, however they did not provide any advice nor guidance as to how to address the weather delay. We ended up making our own decision to pass through a separate border crossing, with an additional cost of 375 USD.

Haven’t gone on trip but very excited! Booking was easy, tailored to our needs, and communicative.

The trip SouthAmerica.travel put together for us to Argentina was excellent! We took a tour of the hot spots in Buenos Aires, to a bike ride in the vineyards of Mendoza. Seeing the Iguazú Falls from both the Argentinian and Brazilian sides were certainly a highlight. In terms of planning the trip, Carlos and Millie did an excellent job of putting together a travel package we would be happy with. They kept us informed every step of the way. All the details were taken care of exactly as outlined. I'm looking forward to planning my next vacation with them!

Jon Hillstead set up an amazing itinerary for us to take our two grandsons (11 and 14) to Rio de Janiero and Iguacu Falls. This was the boys' first trip out of the country and our first to Brazil. He found great places for us to stay, wonderful guides and set up the type of activities young teens would enjoy. He also helped us to understand tipping customs, food safety, health precautions and all other aspects needed to provide our grandsons with a great introduction to foreign travel. We are grateful grandparents who are so thankful for all his guidance and advice.

This was our second trip handled/organized by South America Travel. This time to Peru. Starting with Jason from SouthAmerica.travel to the wonderful guides/drivers we had at each destination, everything was excellent. I would highly recommend utilizing SouthAmerica.travel for anyone thinking of going to any of the beautiful and culturally rich South American countries.

Clara Tort and her team at South America Travel did a fabulous job in booking great hotels, wonderful guides and interesting excursions. They even advised of an upcoming strike and were able to re-route in country air travel so that the trip was not negatively impacted. Was a pleasure working with Clara from start to finish. Would absolutely highly recommend.
