Really pleased with the service from this company. Unfortunately, the item was damaged in transit. The tin had obviously been dropped/knocked by the courier.
I did contact the company who responded in a timely manner. Although damaged, the lid was still functional and Would seal. But disappointing for it to have arrived in this condition.

I spent over £200 on three tins of paint, and the condition they arrived in was disgraceful.

Two of the 2.5L Farrow & Ball tins were badly dented. The shipping boxes themselves were undamaged, so this clearly wasn’t caused during transit. It appears the tins were packed in that condition and sent out regardless, which is completely unacceptable.

This was my first order with Splat, and it will be my last. I contacted customer services expecting a straightforward apology and a willingness to put things right.

Customer Service Update

On Saturday 11th July, I spoke with the owner’s brother. From the outset, he seemed defensive and took exception to my suggestion that the tins may have left their premises in that condition. Rather than acknowledging my concerns, he launched into an explanation about how poor the couriers are and how this supposedly happens all the time, even when the outer packaging appears undamaged.

What disappointed me most wasn’t the damaged tins—it was the attitude. There was no genuine apology, no empathy, and no willingness to explore a solution. Instead, the blame was placed elsewhere, and the overall tone came across as defensive and dismissive.

In the end, I decided this wasn’t a company I wanted to do business with, so I returned the products for a refund.

A situation like this could have been resolved very easily with good customer service. A simple, sincere apology such as, “I’m really sorry this has happened. I understand how frustrating that must be. Let’s see how we can put it right,” would have made all the difference.

Instead, I was met with defensiveness and words like “insinuating,” which only made the experience worse.

Sadly, I can’t recommend Splat based on either the condition of the goods I received or how my complaint was handled.

Extremely efficient and swift service. Great staff at Thirsk Decorating Centre - always wonderfully helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Great company to do business with. Royal let them down by not delivering on time which meant i had to delay delivery by another day as i was not going to be in but other than that all great. Communication from Splat was superb, paint packed well and as described. The only thing I would say to improve things would be to give the tracking number with the dispatch email as relying on Royal mail to message customers can be hit or miss.
