The product has slightly lightened my hair however its immediately badly damaged it. I didn't have any split ends before using this as i do not colour or even blowdry my hair and now I can see massive ones all over and its become very brittle considering its not meant to damage hair.
Not only this but it was very harmful towards my skin. (I didn't spray it on my skin however small droplets must have gotten on it whilst I was spraying my hair). It's made my skin very itchy and left weird white and red marks.
Will not be using again and would expect a refund.

Wow! Literally in 24 hours my hair is drastically lighter! I have..
-Dark asian brown hair
-Bleached/balayage in November last year (7 months ago)
-Natural roots were about 2 inches
-I started yesterday afternoon and sprayed again this morning and stayed outside much from about 10am-7pm both days.
-In about 36 hours my hair looks like I paid to get it done
-Including the dark roots
-Color blends in well throughout
-Hair feels soft and healthy
-No weird smells from the spray or any discomfort or anything like that
-Bottle was smaller than I thought and I used it all on over my hair which is down to my waist. I'll probably be getting another bottle after I'm done.
-Highly recommended!

I love this product! It’s a more affordable option for myself than going to the hair stylist. This product has lightened up my hair very quickly & it’s easy to use. Every time I use the hair lightener & spend the day in the sun, people always compliment my hair saying it looks like I have high lights ! I love this product & will forever use it!

this product turned my natural blonde hair an awful brassy yellow color. Plus, it’s $40 for a tiny bottle - there are much better products (with basically the same ingredients) for half the price. Don’t fall for this.

Editing to add: The company offered me a refund in exchange for removing this review. Then I realized they’d hidden all of my Instagram comments. Well that all annoyed me, so I did some digging, and -

If you go to Sunbabe's company profile on this site, you'll see they have flagged 19 negative reviews and successfully removed 11 of them just because Trustpilot wasn't able to confirm with the reviewer.

And if you try to leave an honest review on their site, you can't -- they only post the five star reviews. The front page of the site literally boasts "4.8 Based on 1459 reviews, third-party verified by Judge.me" - but if you go to that third party site, you'll see their garbage transparency score. They've screened 28% of reviews from verified customers - that's almost 600 negative reviews they're hiding. This is total misrepresentation.

In sum, yeah -- this is a bad product. I thought i was going to save money by not getting highlights but ended up having to spend double at the salon to fix this disaster.

But even worse, it's a dishonest company - they lead you to rely on the exclusively positive reviews and testimonials you see on their site and socials, then they take your money and don't feel bad when their product ruins your hair. And if you try to do or say something, they'll just hide your review and refuse to take responsibility. As a matter of policy, they do not give any refunds... but apparently they do give hush money?

(PS their reply to me below is total BS too - I had emailed them before, asking for advice about how to fix my hair and whether more product would help. Someone replied with an obviously copy-pasted disclaimer about strand testing - I replied and asked my question again but never received a response. About a week later I wrote this review - and only then did I receive a reply offering me a refund "in the context" they mention below, if I'd consider removing my review)

UPDATE, 11/24/23 : almost six months later and I just got an email that they’re trying to have this review removed. I had to verify my full name and order number with trust pilot within 3 days or my review would be removed. Further insight into their deceptive practices.

I’ve been using Sunbabe for 3 years now. I used to have lighter hair as a kid but as I’ve gotten older it’s become more dull and dark - I’m sure someone can relate! I’ve tried getting my hair done professionally at the hair dressers, but it always looked kind of stripey and unnatural. It’s also quite expensive to keep up with. Then I came across an ad for Sunbabe and thought why not give it a chance. Thank god I did. I am so thrilled with my hair and receive compliments on it all the time. It looks like the gorgeous sun-kissed blonde from my youth. It looks so natural and blends so well as it grows out, I don’t have to worry about ugly roots. Also, even though it blends nicely, it also has some nice dimension to it and literally glistens in the sunlight. So thankful for this product and company.

This is not the same lightening gel from the 90s. Somehow, this formula is able to create multifaceted, dynamic highlights that are easy to maintain and naturally placed perfectly. I’ve been using this stuff for two years and haven’t touched a bottle of dye since.

I love sun babe. I’m naturally dark blonde and stopped going platinum during covid and thought I’d give sunbabe a try. Instantly loved it and it gives such an effortlessly natural blonde I’ll never go back to dying my hair!

I just want to write a review for anybody who is looking at this product and comparing it to sun-in. I know the active ingredients are the same, but somehow the balance of other ingredients leads to SUCH a better tone and doesn’t damage my hair whatsoever.

Sun-in has always given me a brassy red tone, and does so much damage. Sun babe has taken my seriously dark brown hair and given is ashy blonde highlights with no hint of red whatsoever. The difference is clear. If you’re on the fence because sun-in doesn't work for you, take my advice, sun babe works exactly how you want it to!

I’ve only used it twice and have easily at least 4 more applications left, and it has already given me results that I love.

I never write reviews, but this stuff is amazing! It couldn’t be easier to use, and the results are gorgeous. I will reorder for sure!!

I was skeptical at first, but decided to give it a try. Even after my first application I wasn't sure, but after waiting and washing my hair, I could see a difference! And after a second application even more! Those that are unlikely to notice, noticed my hair was lighter! I'm buying more after I submit this review!

I have never loved my hair more in my life. A beautiful, natural, dimensional blonde without any dryness or damage. What else can you ask for?

This product contains peroxide. The list of ingredients on the website has it listed as H202. When I received my bottle in the mail the 2nd ingredient is peroxide.I feel that this is very deceptive. When I reached out to the company I was just told they don't give refunds. So unless you want orange, brassy, damaged, peroxide hair, do not buy!

I have dark blonde hair. I have been getting my hair highlighted for years. I just used this last night and pretty much sprayed my hair heavily on the crown to the roots and slept overnight with it. I woke up with beautiful lightened blonde hair. It says on the bottle to do a patch test. For all the users that have had bad experiences- it might have been wise to do a patch test first. Otherwise spend the money and get your hair professionally highlighted. This is meant to gently lighten your hair. With any lightening product use with caution. If you may have sensitive skin, just get it professionally lightened. Just FYI… very impressed with the product so far.

I have fine, long, "dirty blond" hair and this product worked beautifully! My hair was also silky smooth and healthy afterwards!! I was very happy with it. I'm honestly shocked at the reviews on here. I think only people who it doesn't work for write reviews on here.

Ladies, results as always, will depend on the individual… understanding your hair and how it responds to products is important. And just like a pair of jeans we are not all going to look like the advertisement.

I have fine, natural dark blonde hair and it has lifted the colour beautifully! I didn’t want extreme blonde just a lift that won’t damage my delicate hair… I have only used it once and I have lovely subtle results… I chose to rinse my hair again after I had dried it as I didn’t want to leave excess product on my hair for safety… perhaps try this if you are worried about excessive dry out.

My hair feels soft and lighter, I love that it’s natural ingredients and not the old bleach! But, I recommend looking at the natural ingredients and understanding how Your hair will respond, that seems important after reading others feedback.

I ordered this product through instagram and the results weren't as advertised, however I had a good experience with the customer service team.

When I contacted the company via email -I had to explain that I had actually tried several different methods (as instructed) and it still hadn't worked- but after this they issued a full refund and an apology that the results weren't as expected.

I think the advertisement gives a high expectation of the product, but my experience after I vocalised I was unsatisfied was overall, a good one.

I would recommend trying it as it might potentially work for your hair, no one product will never work the same for everyone.

I wish I had of read the reviews before buying this. My hair is now falling out in clumps and looks like I’ve basically held a super hot iron to the top of my head for an hour. My hair is now super broken and thinning beyond belief! Sure it lightened my hair. But this is not worth it at all. I’m so worried that now the next year is going to be trying desperately to get my hair back to health.
Makes me wonder about legal action to be fair! Hair treatments and masks are not cheap!!! This is ridiculous!

SHAME ON YOU SUNBABE!

I first read the positive reviews on Instagram and their site before ordering. Before I received the product I read the reviews here and was afraid to try it based on some that say it really damaged their hair and the color didn’t look good.

I ended up trying it (I figured once couldn’t do too much harm, and hair eventually grows back). I love the results!

How I used: showered, blowdried until damp, spritzed some on, finished blow drying. I saw lighting immediately after which grew over the day.

My hair felt a little on the dry side after use (I also naturally have dry hair), so the next day I used a popular bonding treatment left on for 20 min (got my hair just slightly damp first), then washed with a blue/purple toning shampoo, then, lamellar water rinse, then conditioner like normal. My hair looks and feels amazing! It’s at least two shades lighter after 1 use with a blow dryer. I think it looks a bit lighter after washing/drying again than it did before I washed.

I plan on using this a couple more times to achieve my goal and then intermittently for maintenance. I naturally have some copper tones in my light brown hair (I was blond when younger), so I do plan on using a purple toning shampoo to balance. The results are overall even better than I expected and surprisingly on par with their Instagram/website pics.

This stuff is awful. I used this on my medium brown hair (not dyed previously). It has left it very dry and brittle. Even though it lightened my hair colour slightly, it was not worth the unhealthy looking hair it has given me. I would not recommend this product. Very disappointing! I also left this review on their website but it looks like they only publish 4+ start reviews and not anything negative. I got my haircut the other day and the hairdresser said he would not go near this product.
