Costs are ridiculous and support scarce
Update, my issue has been fully resolved to my complete satisfaction and I remain and continue to be a customer.
I’ve been with them over 2 years and it just keeps going up, complaining does nothing they just keep sending invoices and taking money. Replies take 3 days if at all. I cannot recommend and will ask my bank how to stop them taking money.

Unless you’ve added users, numbers or upgraded your plan, any price changes are minimal and only once a year, in line with inflation.
Additionally, our support team are always on-hand and happy to review billing if anything seems unclear.
I can also see in our ticketing system, that your most recent email regarding your invoice enquiry was replied to in less than 1 business day, however, in the event that an enquiry is urgent, our UK-based team are always available on the telephone, with minimal queue times.
To cancel your account, please don’t just stop payments, this won’t close the account. Instead, email support@switchboardfree.co.uk so we can process the cancellation properly, as outlined in our terms and conditions.

Take care signing up for Switchboard FREE!
The actual terms of SwitchboardFREE are buried in the terms of service, they are not transparent. I originally understood we were entering a month trial service when until they deducted £13.10 from my card. I searched the website for a ways to cancel but none is provided - they now tell me you need to email them to cancel - again deliberately effusive. Despite not using the service - they deducted a second months payment of £32.10 which I dont understand at all! They did this despite my having already emailed my cancellation... It transpires SwitchboardFREE is anything but "FREE". I emailed them requesting a refund of this second charge but notably received no reply from them. I have subsequently reported this second charge to my bank as fraudulent activity - I could not recommend SwitchboardFREE.

Thank you for your feedback. To clarify, we don’t offer a free trial, and this isn’t advertised anywhere. Our Terms & Conditions, which must be accepted at signup, clearly state a three-month minimum term.
Cancellations can be made easily by emailing support@switchboardfree.co.uk, as outlined on our website. I can see that you've already spoken to a member of our support team and your account has now been closed, as requested.
Computer Says No
I just called support and the lady I spoke to came across as the computer says no.
No offer of a work round.
I also filled in a porting form that they lost even though I could provide proof i completed their form

1) Additional Menu Options After Pressing (X) for Accounts
Unfortunately, the system doesn't support a second layer of menu options at that stage. The menu structure is designed to keep navigation straightforward for users and doesn't allow branching into multiple option sets after the initial selection.
2) Redirecting to Another SBF Number
We're unable to redirect a number to another SBF number within the same system, as this could potentially create a continuous loop or unintended call routing behaviour. To maintain call flow integrity and avoid system disruptions, internal redirections like this aren't supported.

Service is ok but go through invoices!
Service is ok. It does the job. Both my small business and my partners have both noticed they like to continuously add things to your package/bill to see if you realise. "Call recording free" and "call credit" depsite us constantly switching it off. Every few months this happens and whilst they play the "oh sorry, not sure how this has happened card" and then offer to refund that amount off the bill in question, it should just not happen! Sort it out

Regarding our call-recording feature, we offer a one-month trial at sign-up, with clear instructions and an email reminder before the trial ends. Customers can easily opt out during sign-up by deselecting the toggle option. Once this has been removed, the charge is refunded, and the feature is not added again without the customer's request.
Call credit works in a similar way: our system includes an optional auto-top-up facility to prevent service interruption. This can be switched off at any time from your dashboard, or we can disable it for you on request.

I'm very disappointed with this…
I'm very disappointed with this service. Even though I wanted to cancel my subscription, there was no option to do it manually. I had to write them an email just to say I wanted to cancel. After that, they asked me why I wanted to cancel... seriously? Why do they need to know? I simply found a better service — that's all.
At first, I didn’t want to leave a bad review. But after I replied to their question, I was charged £6 again — twice! One payment, then another a week later. That’s why I’m writing this review: to warn others. Be careful — they might charge you for no reason even after you try to cancel.

I can't praise the team at…
I can't praise the team at SwitchboardFREE enough as we had a very difficult time porting our number over from BT, who were absolutely hopeless. Thankfully the team at SwithboardFREE who kept on our case and would not give up despite BT's complete incompetence. Everything has now been resolved thanks to their teams tireless efforts. Many thanks to all involved at SwitchboardFREE, especially Zoe and Abbey who have been absolutely brilliant and so helpful! I wish all companies had the same level of customer service as SwitchboardFREE. I would highly recommend them :)

Lets my Skype number live on for less ££, with great UK-based service and support
I'm one of the many virtual number ports out of Skype (sounds like there are a lot of us...). I tried a couple of possible replacements which turned out to be either full scams or offered lousy service/simply didn't work. SwitchboardFree is designed as a proper VOIP solution for businesses handling sales teams /tech support call distribution, so it's a robust, professional business-oriented venture that happens to work great for individuals too. Unlike the others I tried, they have proper experienced sales and tech support teams, all UK-based and the friendliest, most helpful people you could hope to work with. Works great on my Android phone and Win10 (Win10 app a little dated but does the job fine), and being a commercial venture it gives you options like specifying "line open times" and custom call-waiting messaging. It includes a good chunk of monthly UK calls and allows my Skype number to continue yet is quite a bit cheaper too. Couldn't be happier.

Buh-bye Skype!
Like many others, Microsoft's decision to kill off Skype left us hanging on (without) the telephone. The port over to SwitchboardFREE was painless and quick, the charges are lower, it's far more configurable and actually has decent support, happy to help you get things set up.
The only slight negative is the actual interface on Mac/iPhone, which is literally just a keyboard, like the Calculator app - to dial you have to move your cursor over each number rather than use the numeric pad on your keyboard, and it's a bit slow to connect through.
