I ordered a sword for 160 pounds on November the 2nd. I have emailed and emailed and emailed !!! This was my son's Christmas present as he's a budding blacksmith!!! It's not here !!! This company is a scam !!!

AVOID!!!!! AVOID!!!!! SCAM! Sword is cheap and poor quality. Despite several attempts of emailing for a refund - surprise surprise there is no reply! Found a phone number and number is always unavailable. DO NOT BUY

This company is 100% a SCAM...
All the other positive reviews are written by the scammer..
They don't post anything and try to trick you into waiting until your PayPal coverage runs out, and even if they do send something it will be a low quality fake.
Seriously LISTEN to the other negative reviews, AVOID this merchant

Bought a "razor" sharp Wakizashi at the beginning of May for £242.89. Claming to have real ray skin for the handle material and also claiming to be "hand forged" 1095 steel which had been clay temered.

I work as an industrial metalsmith so I thought I'd share some opinions and facts here for anyone wanting to buy from Swords for sale.

First the blade itself, i can say without a doubt this is a machine made product, main telling sign is by checking the grain of the "hada" on the steel by using a magnifying glass against the blade. Typically you should be able to see little dots that are clear without any fuzziness. On this particular blade they aren't present. Indicating this is not hand forged. There is also clear signs of machine micro etching for the blades detail. Another tell is after removing the Tsuka (handle) the blade has an imprinted serial number, showing it's been mass produced.

The rest of the sword itself appears to be constructed using cheap alternatives of what they claimed also. The saya or scabard is not actual rosewood, despite the description. To check I chipped the top layer of the saya to see if it was just a coat or genuine, and can confirm it is just to be a layer wrapped over the top make it look like rosewood.

The Habaki or the blades collar is also not high quality brass, once again despite the claims. What they used is what's known as casting brass; made up of roughly 33% zinc and the rest copper. And the Fuchi (the handles collar) is plastic.

Meaning the product i recieved is nowhere near worth the money it's displayed at, not in time nor materials. The overall estimated value is from anywhere between £80-£120. And to point out something important, this company is not located in the UK. They do use cloudfair servers which are hosted in the UK to be able to have a domain here witht he .co.uk at the end. But using the CMD and the Tracert command, I was able to optain the original IP using the UK cloudfare servers which showed it's an overseas company. Not going into further details like location or region because of the legality of it.

But searching the listed address of their business from their website is a clear sign it's a sham anyway due to the fact the address is just someones residence.

So all in all, personal opionion is to avoid this site/"company". If you're UK based and looking for an alternative though I would highly reccomend katanamart, since they are uk and DO handforge all of their swords unless they state otherwise. (only downside is that it take them a while to make the swords, about a month give or take), but yeah, hoped this helped someone save a bit of time and money. :)

Closing note: no the blade is not "Razor" sharp.

I order a sword from here it took a few weeks to arrive and once it did the sword had a small chip along the blade but the main problem was not actually knowing if it was made the traditional way cause to me it kinda looks machine made

I ordered a katana 1st issue no tracking number so I contacted the team the day after ordering and was told the parcel WILL be delivered in the next 2-4 weeks after the 4th week I was then told it would come in the 5th week they have been fast with giving me a response to emails however it is quite disappointing having to wait this long to a sword that may never arrive

The sword arrived within 10 days via DHL. I am very pleased with the quality of the sword and the communication from the company.

I ordered a sword from here just before xmas and reading the previous reviews I was slightly worried. I waited for a few weeks and contacted them to ask about my delivery. I was responded to fairly quickly and he told me I would receive it within the next two weeks. He was right I received it a week later and I am very happy with my purchase. The sword is great quality and I only had to wait a month or so to receive it. I am talking from my experience and based off this purchase I will most likely purchase again. 🙂

Fantastic! I was worried about ordering with the reviews but I wanted a katana which was unique to this company. I planned to claim back on my credit card if things went wrong but I didn’t need to worry. Order arrived in just over 1 month. You get dhl notifications via email when package is close and can adjust exact delivery day on dhl website. Sword is amazing. Well made and packaged.

This review only has one star as I cannot give zero.

My boyfriend placed an order on 4th March, to date we have received nothing, and our emails asking for updates have gone unanswered.

We will be raising a case over the weekend to get his money back, which is a substantial amount.

Avoid this company like the plague!

I ordered quite an expensive sword from these guys but the item I received was completely different, appalling quality, dangerously put together and mostly plastic. Have to involve the authorities and pursue legal action to resolve so proceed with caution.

Sword finally arrive on the 16th of April 2021. No specification papers or anything so have to trust that it's the correct metals used and such.. but it does feel good with nice balance and tight construction although not perfect unfortunately. Also not very sharp.

Overall content with the service though not sure if I'll buy from there again,(maybe) but remember it's no Amazon next day delivery you will be waiting for the item and if things go wrong you will be waiting even longer.

They got in contact with me stating they will send correct katana. Will update with anything new.

Soooo, I anxiously waited for 1-month for my katana to arrive, I was trusting and paid them for the best katana on the site which is £900.
And instead I received one that's worth £155 and not to mention a smaller size. (Wakizashi) I have emailed them.. let's see if they respond if not then the PayPal depute has to begin, I must admit I'm dreading it! Right now I would say avoid at all cost.. let me be the failed example for you all. Worst thing is it was for my son! Disappointed all round...

Ordered my katana on here on 12 Feb 21 and it has arrived today (3 Apr 21) and I am amazed at the quality of it, it looks amazing has a good feel to it and is as described on the website, it took a long time to turn up and I got worried emailed them and heard back 2 days later and they gave me an estimate, but then I was notified by dhl when it will be arriving, I will be using this site again in the future and I strongly recommend them to any first time buyers the only bad thing I can say is the waiting time but the items are handmade in Japan so what else do you expect.

I ordered the sword in November 2020. No sword and no communication on any delay. Tried contacting them this week but website contact details not great.

Will update this review if they respond to my email, will claim refund through paypal if item does not arrive this month

Made the order, made the payment. Ordered 3 items. Katana, Wakizashi and Tanto. First part of the order arrived this morning. A great Wakizashi, well made, well presented. A gem. Well worth waiting for. No indication that it was arriving until notified by DHL. Ordered in December arrived 25 Feb. Just remember, these have to be made. Scammers this company are most definitely not!
Update. Received the rest of my items from this company finally. Thought I had been ripped off but found i actually hadn't.
Worth waiting for but if only they had replied to my emails, wouldn't have gone as far as it did with a PayPal escalation. I may use them again. I would have given them 3.5 stars due to the lack of communication and reiterate my view that scammers they definitely are not.

I read lot of negative review especially about delays. I was so worried that day after purchasing the sword I contacted seller and ask for refund. Luckily I calm down and not even 10 days later I've got my first katana. Fitting is perfectly tight, blade is sharp enough and sword worth every penny. Definitely worth buying. It is my first but not last purchase from seller. Brilliant job.

ordered my katana on 30th Jan still not received it yet. will update when it arrives not quite when that will be.
