Tamar Telecommunications have been providing UK businesses with virtual telephone numbers since March 2002. We believe in offering fast and efficient customer service and usually reply to emails within 2 working hours and answer telephone calls within 10 seconds during our office hours of 9am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Our customers have come to expect a fast and efficient response and this we aim to provide to all our customers. Over the past three months, 98.10% of calls we received were answered within 10 seconds.

Total rubbish ! They increase and change plan without asking. You only get to know if you check your bank statements

company is a scam sets you up for monthly payments then dont take payment so you go in to debt with them and they close your number and delist it and charge you more to obtain it again. waste of time do not bother there a joke

I am sorry that you feel that you have not had a good experience with us here at Tamar Telecom.
If a customer does not setup a Direct Debit, then unfortunately we are not able to take regular payments.
After looking in to various accounts that you held with us I can confirm that in your case you had one account with a DD that failed and another where one was not setup at all.
We send invoices via email on the 10th or every month and even when a payment is overdue or dedicated customer service team do make many attempts to contact customers before any form of disconnection takes place.
Customers get 14 days to pay an invoice and even then we do not disconnect straight away and I take pride in the level of communication our team takes to prevent us getting to the point of disconnection.

We appreciate customer feedback our service is certainly not a scam and I am sorry that you feel this way.

I was charged extra and £50 was demanded for reconnection which is absurd

Hello, we have already address the situation with your account, extra charges were only applied when the commitment to pay invoices on time were not met, as advised we provide 14 days for invoices to be paid, we also attempt to contact you when invoices go unpaid before any charges are applied, when invoices remain unpaid then this is when there is a late payment charge applied, when invoices then continue to go unpaid as they have we give around 14 to 18 days on top of the initial 14 days for invoices to be settle ( all the time trying to make contact to facilitate accounts being brought up to date) before a reconnection fee is applied, The amount you have quoted in your review however is not correct as you have quoted a higher amount than we actually charge.
In the case of your account we had offered to waive the reconnection charge but you chose not to respond to our offer and instead leave us a bad review.
I am sorry that you are not happy with the extra charges for not paying your invoices on time, we have many times prior to these reviews tried to offer a solution to you. We are still happy to offer the waiver of the reconnection fee if you wish to contact us.

Really easy to set up, had a call back to check what I needed and explain anything I wasn't sure about, and my number was live within 24 hours.

Not fit for purpose VOIP, Think twice

I don’t usually write negative reviews, but when a service directly impacts my business, it needs to be called out so others don’t make the same mistake.

In short: the VoIP phone system does not work reliably. On every single occasion, outbound calls have failed completely, the person receiving the call cannot hear us, and we cannot hear them. Inbound calls connect, but consistently drop after around 32 seconds.

Today alone, my business lost a genuine lead because of this issue. An anonymous caller rang, the call dropped after ~32 seconds, they called back, and it dropped again.. followed by complete silence. Because the caller withheld their number, I had no way to return the call using a working phone.

After several hours, the lead rang again. I tried to quickly explain the issue and ask for a contact number so I could call back on a reliable line. Before I could do so, the call dropped yet again. At that point, the opportunity was lost.

For a small business with a limited marketing budget, this is unacceptable. When leads finally come in, the phone system should be the one thing you can rely on. This one cannot be trusted.

I’ll be moving to another provider immediately.

I'm tech savvy and have no issues with the multiple other softwares I use in the business, my mobile phone line works absolutely fine too. I've called them to discuss this in the past to be told they would investigate. I've also checked the settings they asked me to. All in all a massive disappointment and you're better off just using your mobile number for business calls as it is far more professional than the line disconnecting, or not hearing one another.

I am sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience with our VoIP service, I appreciate your feedback, I can assure you that your experience is not what the vast majority of our customer experience, we would be more than willing to have our tech team continue to look in to the issues that you raised, sometimes further call examples or information are required to help with fault diagnostics. Unfortunately no telecoms service can be 100% guaranteed fault or failure free, not even a mobile service, we will always do our utmost to work with customers to resolve issues as quickly as possible.
