I recently used Taylor Chartered Surveyors to secure a valuation for my shared ownership property and received excellent service. The team were very professional and helpful in all communications and I received the valuation report less than 24 hours after the Surveyor visited.

5/5 rating. Booked in, came on time, received the valuation on the Monday following the valuation on the Friday. Best value compare to competitors. Everyone I have spoken with online/via emails and the evaluator on the day have all been incredible nice and helpful. Would highly recommend using this firm for a house valuation.

Taylor Chartered Surveryors provided me with a Help to Buy valuation in January. Sasha was very helpful on providing information and booking the valuation. Elliot visited my flat for the valuation and provided the report 24 hours later which is a much faster turnaround compared to other surveyors. I would recommend.

Great service from start to finish. Needed a RICS valuation to redeem our Help to Buy loan and received quick professional service. Survey was provided within 24 hours of the valuation being carried out. Our completion date has since moved so the valuation will expire just before completing. I reached out for some help in obtaining a new valuation for Help to Buy, Sasha confirmed to contact them just before our current valuation expires and they can provide us with a month extension free of charge. I recently had a valuation done with Taylor Chartered Surveyors for my shared ownership flat resale. It was easy to arrange the valuation visit for a convenient time, and Sasha was very helpful and lovely to deal with. On the day, the surveyor arrived promptly at the agreed time, and was polite, respectful, and helpful. The report was sent over very promptly afterwards too. I had a really good experience with Taylor chartered surveyors. They were friendly, professional, and made the sign-up process easy and fast. The surveyor turned up very quickly after booking. The survey report was sent within 1–2 working days, which was impressive.

I engaged Taylor Chartered Surveyors to prepare an Expert Witness Report on a property I purchased. In my experience, the service I received was extremely poor.

Elliot Taylor inspected the property on 19 November 2024. Over the following weeks I was repeatedly told by staff (including Elliot and Sasha) that the report would be ready on specific dates. Those dates came and went multiple times with no report and, on many occasions, no proactive communication. I made numerous calls and sent emails chasing the report, but despite repeated assurances that it would be delivered “that day” or “within a few days”, it was never provided.

Because the report was never delivered, I was forced to instruct another surveyor and pay for a replacement Expert Witness Report at significant additional cost.

I then submitted a formal complaint to Taylor Chartered Surveyors under their Complaints Handling Procedure. Although they state that they will respond within a set timescale, no substantive response to my formal complaint was ever received, despite reminders and extensions.

I escalated the matter to an independent adjudicator (via the RICS/consumer ADR route). The adjudicator has now issued a Final Decision in my favour. They directed Taylor Chartered Surveyors to pay me £1,200 towards the cost of the replacement Expert Witness Report and £1,000 for poor complaint handling, inconvenience and distress, and to update their Complaints Handling Procedure to reflect the correct ADR provider, as well as to provide a written apology. Elliot has now done all of these things.

Based on my experience, I found Taylor Chartered Surveyors to be unreliable in delivering the agreed service, very poor in their complaint handling, and, in my opinion, their branding and marketing are misleading. I would not use this firm again and would urge others to exercise caution and do careful due diligence before instructing them.
