I rarely write reviews. But I am so upset. I was so excited with my purchase of the Tempdrop arm band, despite it being expensive, I thought it was an important investment for my cycle tracking and well-being.

After a few weeks of using the armband + app, I woke up one morning with horrible pain on my arm under the sensor. My skin had been burned (in the shape of the drop sensor piece). It hurt so bad to touch it. Of course I did not want to use it after that as I was scared it would happen to my right arm as well, potentially even worse since the right arm is the one I sleep on.

I contacted the support, they said they would check out the results from the night before and see if the sensor had any unusual activity that would make it heat up/ burn me. They never got back to me, and while they normally send me the thread of our conversation after the customer support chat ends, I never received a copy of that convo over email. Suspicious.

Anyways, I’m writing here now as I have had no help on the matter and want to warn anyone thinking of buying this thing, it might burn the hell out of your arm all for the cost of 199$, and don’t forget about the warranty of 25$, oh and that subscription fee too, 35.99$ (and that’s only for the first year).

I love my tempdrop!

i have been a Tempdrop user for a year. the tempdrop is great but the bands suck. they are itchy and uncomfortable. i purchased the new band that they released and it was even more uncomfortable than the original. i was very unhappy that the new band was not updated to be more comfortable.

Very nice product but have 2 different armbands (the original band and another band offered by Tempdrop) and both of them cause some pain from wearing. I’ve got chubby upper arms and woke up a few times to the armband sliding down my arm. The app is pretty nice and easy to use. Device itself is easy to use.

I really wanted to like the Tempdrop but have been very disappointed. First it doesnt work if you dont have service. The battery it came with only lasted a little over a month, then the battery was super hard to change. Then the second battery didn't last any longer and it wouldn't ever sync again after changing the first battery. I finally decided to change the battery one more time and try it again, reread all the instructions, made sure I was doing it right, the green light was slow flashing before I put it on and went to bed and then it was completely off again (no red light, no slow or fast green light, nothing) by the time I woke up and went to sync it in the morning! I really like the idea but have had no luck using my Tempdrop.

The armband has some issues though, broke my frame thrice. The first time,I received the replacement frame quite fast. the 2nd time was slower (Covid issues I guess). Still waiting for the third one to arrive,but I have the 2nd one as backup.

I wonder if the new armband design can provide better,non jagged temps without having to wear something over it. I don't use a sports bra to bed,so that option was off (breastfeeding). Using a piece of cloth (bandanna like stretchy cloth) over my armband to keep it in place triggered my eczema itch. It got hot and sweaty.

Still,I have recommended Tempdrop to my family and loved ones. My overall experience with the Support Team and the device itself was awesome - even with the itchy experience and all :-D.

This has been a game changing device in our journey TTC #2 whilst breastfeeding #1. Highly recommend to anyone that has unusual sleep patterns for whatever reason.

Awesome product, wouldn't be bothered to practice Fertility Awareness without it. Glad it syncs with Read Your Body app!! Keep up the great work.

I like the ease of use of the device. I’m still not quite sure I understand the algorithm and how it changes the previous day’s temperature based on the current day temperature. And maybe I did not use due diligence but I was disappointed when I found out there was a subscription price on top of the price of the device in order for it to help explain what the temperature changes mean and help with saying when the fertile window is based on the temperature stats. So for that, I knocked off a star and I’m not thrilled about having to pay yet a higher price than I expected. All in all, this is a much better way than using a drug to mess with my hormones. Birth control pills are not for me!

Smart technology. And its accompanying app works well for me in tracking and analysing my cycle. Recommend.

The service was great. The product was not for me so I returned it. Got my money back quickly.

I love my tempdrop! I have PCOS and so my cycles can be hard to read. I also am not a morning person so remembering to take my temp every morning just didn't happen. This has been my favorite tool in understanding my fertility and charting. Since using tempdrop I'm also not caught unawares with my period either as I can notice the shift in temp the day before and be prepared. When my kids accidently threw my temp drop away, support was super helpful in getting me set up with temp drop care, a replacement and a new band. I tell all my friend who want to chart and use more natural methods of family planning to get a temp drop.

I'll start by saying that the idea of the Tempdrop is amazing. Being able to use Fertility Awareness methods that depend on taking your body basal temperature without having to worry about waking up always at the same time is really great. Also, Tempdrop is a small company that is really in tune with their community and their customer service is great. My problem is the product itself: it is a very flimsy, delicate product for its price, so you have to be aware that having warranty (or their optional extended warranty / insurance), is basically a must - which makes the product even more expensive than the price tag you see on their website.

I was excited to get my Tempdrop, but I made the not-so-smart decision to buy it during pregnancy (hoping to use it right after the baby was born) - as a result the device was sitting in my drawer for many months until I got around to using it. When I finally had the chance to use it postpartum, the experience was great - until the battery ran out. Changing the battery is like walking on a minefield. The device is extremely delicate (or should I say flimsy), and you are supposed to pry the little thing open to replace the battery (a common CR2032 coin battery). My first battery replacement went wrong, but luckily I was still covered by my original 12-month warranty, though not for long. The company promptly sent a replacement sensor, but warned me that, obviously, my warranty would not be extended to cover the life of the replacement sensor: that's just not how warranties work. Looking back, I should have waited to buy it when I actually needed it, and I should have bought the longer warranty package. But I didn't know then what I know now...

I had some very happy 11 months of Tempdrop usage with my replacement sensor, until the battery of this sensor, too, ran out. I braced myself for the battery changing process and did my best to be careful and delicate to the little drop-shaped device. Alas, it did not work. I probably inadvertently pushed the sensor while prying the unit open, and after I closed it again, it would not turn on. I put a little piece of paper to hold the battery in place, and that worked for two days, but after that the temperatures stopped showing in my app. Customer support said it was a faulty sensor, but that since I'm now out of warranty, there's nothing they can do other than to offer me to buy their extended warranty retroactively and have a new sensor sent to me for $108. Surely better than nothing, but it is still quite a lot of money. I passed.

The bottom-line, for me, is this: Tempdrop is a great idea from a great company that needs some time to get more mature. Until then, having a Tempdrop is more like a very expensive subscription service: as long as you have warranty, you're all set. For me, the price no longer justifies the convenience, and I will be back to my trusty BBT thermometer and my early morning alarm.

Ive never been able to chart my temps. I've tried with a standard bbt therm and it was SO stressful. With a history of disrupted sleep patterns, insomnia, which when finally healed went into having a baby+nursing through the night... without tempdrop I wouldnt stand a chance! How could i possibly get consistent temperatures...

Tempdrop is cute and well designed. I love everything about the design and the branding. It is truly a gift to women who would like to practice charting and FAM. I still dont really know how to read my charts, but im getting temps, and now I can learn.

I wanted to love this product, but it's hard for me to trust it because I don't have enough information about how it works. How does the algorithm work? Should it adjust temps if I enter that it's the first day of my cycle, or that I've had alcohol the night before? Without more information, I feel blind. I'm using it as birth control, so I need more precise info.

It works – as in, it takes your temp – but my temps with the device are a bit all over the shop. I even bought a different arm band, one that others on the FB group recommended, but it didn't seem to make a difference.

Which brings me to my next point: It's ridiculous that I need to buy a new armband (because everyone else says the one that comes with is flimsy, which it is), AND pay for another app because theirs is so basic and looks like it was designed in 2001. If I'm paying this much for a thermometer, I expect not to have to buy more stuff, and I expect what comes with it to work perfectly.

I wanted to return this, but unfortunately I bought it on Amazon (due to international shipping being cheaper), and didn't realize they only sell the most basic version there, which can't be returned.

This is everything I hoped it would be and more: easy to use, intuitive, straightforward to incorporate into my life. Arrived quickly during a pandemic from the states to Europe. Highly recommended.

Tempdrop was the best thing I ever did. Brilliant customer service. I have been using for around 3 years now, its become part of my life.
