The Family Chemist is a family-run, GPhC-regulated UK online pharmacy providing NHS and private healthcare services to patients across the UK.
Launched in 2021 and based in West Bridgford, Nottingham, our aim is to make accessing prescriptions and healthcare simple, safe and convenient. Our UK-based pharmacy and clinical teams combine professional expertise with easy-to-use digital services, helping patients manage their health from the comfort of home.
NHS & Private Prescription Services
Our NHS repeat prescription service allows eligible patients to nominate The Family Chemist through the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). Once nominated, prescriptions can be sent directly to us, dispensed by our pharmacy team and delivered free to your door.
We also offer private online prescribing services. Patients can complete a secure online consultation which is reviewed by a qualified UK clinician. Where treatment is clinically appropriate, a prescription is issued, dispensed and delivered discreetly.
Delivery, Payments & Returns
We provide fast and discreet UK delivery, with free delivery available on NHS prescriptions.
To make ordering as convenient as possible, we offer a range of secure online payment options, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Klarna and Clearpay. Available payment methods may vary depending on your order and will be clearly displayed at checkout.
For patient safety, medicines cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded once they have been dispatched. This applies even if the medication remains unopened.
Returns and refunds for eligible non-medicinal items may be available depending on the product and circumstances, and are subject to our Terms & Conditions. If you would like to cancel an order, arrange a return or report an issue with your delivery, please contact our team as soon as possible.

Bad experience
Bad experience. You made me go through your questionnaire, upload my pics, order the injections and pay you, only to cancel it a day later (and make me wait for the refund), saying that my BMI is too low, despite the fact that I provided it at the very beginning of the questionnaire. So why did you need my pics (and I hope my data will be deleted ASAP) in the first place, having my BMI?
You are absolutely unserious for rejecting it, as it makes no sense. There are people taking the injections who, after a few months, will have the same weight as me, but will carry on taking the medication to get their weight down. So they take the medication while still having the same weight as me, as they need to get to a healthy BMI, yet you rejected my request. Where is the logic?
I have found a way to order it. You are unserious.

We would like to clarify that completing our consultation, verification process and payment does not guarantee that treatment will be prescribed. All information requested forms part of the clinical assessment, and our prescribers can only make a final decision once the consultation and supporting information have been reviewed.
It is also important to distinguish between patients starting treatment and established patients receiving ongoing or maintenance treatment. Different clinical considerations and prescribing criteria can apply, so comparing the circumstances of a new patient with someone who has already been receiving treatment for several months is not necessarily equivalent.
Where a patient does not meet our prescribing criteria, we have a professional responsibility to decline treatment. We will always prioritise safe and appropriate prescribing, even where this means we are unable to provide the treatment requested.
Any refund due following a declined consultation is processed accordingly, although the time taken for funds to appear can depend on the customer's payment provider.
We appreciate that you disagree with the prescribing decision, but our clinical team will not approve treatment simply because another provider may apply different criteria.
