NHS & Private Prescription Services
Our NHS repeat prescription service allows eligible patients to nominate The Family Chemist through the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). Once nominated, prescriptions can be sent directly to us, dispensed by our pharmacy team and delivered free to your door.
We also offer private online prescribing services. Patients can complete a secure online consultation which is reviewed by a qualified UK clinician. Where treatment is clinically appropriate, a prescription is issued, dispensed and delivered discreetly.
Delivery, Payments & Returns
We provide fast and discreet UK delivery, with free delivery available on NHS prescriptions.
To make ordering as convenient as possible, we offer a range of secure online payment options, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Klarna and Clearpay. Available payment methods may vary depending on your order and will be clearly displayed at checkout.
For patient safety, medicines cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded once they have been dispatched. This applies even if the medication remains unopened.
Returns and refunds for eligible non-medicinal items may be available depending on the product and circumstances, and are subject to our Terms & Conditions. If you would like to cancel an order, arrange a return or report an issue with your delivery, please contact our team as soon as possible.

Overall a very good experience,pricing…
Overall a very good experience,pricing was reasonable,questionaire was good albeit website could do with modernising but simple to use good feed back once ordered.Only downside was delivery which was due to Royal Mail stayed in for two days and it did not arrive and it still arrived late on third day.Overall a good experience thank you.

An ultra suspicious company
Ordered and paid for two 10 mg Monjarro pens ( circa £530 ) as going abroad for longer than one would suffice. You only sent one and when I notified you within 5 mins of the delivery I felt like your customer services didn’t believe me as you asked me to confirm in an email and photograph the pen received. I asked your customer services what good the photograph would do as “ I can’t photograph a missing pen”. He put me on hold and then came back and said they realised they had only sent one pen. !!. Also had an experience during very hot summer where parcel was delivered late during the days of 30c heat ( which obviously destroys the liquid) and what a farce once again with your customer services where I was told to return the pen before you would despatch another. Not the customers fault either about the heat or the late delivery but was treated as though it were. You are an ultra suspicious company.

We would, however, like to reassure you that requesting confirmation, photographs or other supporting information when investigating an order is a standard part of our process and should not be interpreted as questioning a customer's honesty.
As soon as our internal checks identified an issue with the order, this was acknowledged and the appropriate action was taken. We believe this demonstrates that the purpose of our checks is to establish the facts quickly and ensure the correct resolution is provided.
Similarly, concerns involving medication during transit must be assessed carefully. As a regulated pharmacy supplying prescription medicines, we cannot simply bypass the necessary checks or immediately issue additional medication without following the appropriate procedures.
We strongly disagree with the suggestion that these safeguards make us an untrustworthy or suspicious company. They exist to protect our patients, ensure prescription medicines are handled responsibly and allow us to investigate concerns fairly and consistently.
We appreciate your feedback and are sorry that the way these procedures were communicated made you feel otherwise.

Disappointed
Disappointed – promises about delivery were not followed Update after the company’s response:
I am even more disappointed after reading this response.
If you look at your own emails, you will see that this absolutely has everything to do with the information I was given. I specifically asked twice whether my prescription could be sent tracked without requiring a signature, and on both occasions I was told that this could be accommodated simply by leaving a message with my order.
If this is not something you can actually guarantee or provide, then customers should be told this clearly from the beginning. Please do not tell customers that their delivery request can be accommodated if, in reality, it may simply be ignored when the order is dispatched.
I understand that, as a regulated pharmacy, you have responsibilities regarding the safe delivery of prescription medication. My complaint is not about those responsibilities. My complaint is about being given incorrect or misleading information about your delivery options, despite specifically asking before placing my orders.
I also find it disappointing that your response focuses on separating the clinical review from the delivery issue, when my original complaint was about the fact that the delivery information I was given was not followed.
If you cannot send medication tracked without a signature, then simply say so. I would have been able to make an informed decision about whether to use your service.
Your response has unfortunately left me feeling even more disappointed with my experience.
I moved to The Family Chemist around two months ago. Before placing my first order, I emailed specifically to ask whether my parcels could be sent tracked without requiring a signature, as I have a safe place and cannot always be at home.
I was told this was possible and that I simply needed to add a message to my order requesting it.
Unfortunately, my first order was still sent requiring a signature.
Before placing my second order, I called them and explained the situation again. I was once again told that if I added a message to the order, it could be sent tracked without a signature so that I would not need to stay at home waiting for the delivery.
Despite this, the second order was also sent requiring a signature. As a result, I had to lose a day of work to stay home for the parcel.
I then emailed asking why my clear delivery instructions had not been followed, especially after I had been reassured twice that this could be done. Instead of receiving an explanation, I discovered that my account had been paused for medical safety review
I have the emails confirming what I was originally told.
For a company that describes itself as offering “family love and care”, I found the way this was handled extremely disappointing. If they could not offer delivery without a signature, they should simply have told me that from the beginning rather than assuring me twice that they could.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend The Family Chemist.

The process was simple but did look for verification of it being an appropriate treatment and insisted on evidence of previous dose, bought elsewhere. It felt like a responsible prescription process.
