A lovely company to deal with, I love speaking to real people with a sense of humour and I can’t wait to start growing my lions mane shrooms . Me being the plonker that I am didn’t realise I had to scratch the panel to get the code to purchase my mushrooms . Alice kindly explained it to me and popped the order in for me too , plus we had a bit of chuckle in the process . Thank you

Pink Oyster Mushrooms
I was delighted when I received this as a gift as I am a keen mycophile and this was just up my street.
However, I think that it was the wrong type of mushrooms to attempt growing in Central Scotland but it was great fun trying to grow them.
During incubation temperature needs to be 20-23 degrees and instructions mention that airing cupboards or near other heat sources aren't suitable.
I had mine in a cupboard as it was the warmest place in the house. 19C
When nothing seemed to be happening I upped temperature by putting on the light which has a traditional light bulb. This pushed the temperature up to 22C. There was no way that I could put them out of the cupboard as temperature for fruiting is 22-28C!
Doing this I managed to get three very small flushes (enough to put in an omelette each time).
These mushrooms are ideal for tropical countries but not really suitable to be grown in the northern parts of the UK due to the low temperatures.
I would try and grow mushrooms again but probably best to stick to spawn that grows in the Northern Hemisphere i.e. Blue oysters (that I have seen in Scotland in October/November).
All in all I think Urban Farm It are doing a great job and would buy from them again, and would recommend them to others, as their Customer Service is fantastic and they could not have been more helpful with my questions.

Was able to phone and discuss my purchase as a beginner grower. Had my 1st mushrooms today - thats dinner sorted.

The first box was a birthday present and we had one amazing crop and then nothing. I e- mailed for help and advice. Alice replied with helpful hints and offered to replace so I could have another try. I would recommend them very highly

From start to finish professional, helpful-and great follow up. Purchased grey/blue oyster as a gift for my son in law who is a foodie and there have been no complaints so far. As there was a time issue they made sure they were delivered promptly.

I purchased one of the mushroom growing kits from a local garden centre. The spores were delivered promptly, the instructions are easy to follow (along side the helpful YouTube channel). I have had my first flush of mushrooms and they tasted amazing. Will definitely buy again.

Received mushroom kit as a gift, had a problem and Alice, who is amazing and very kind, sorted it all out for me, without fuss or bother.
What a wonderful company, nothing is too much trouble for them.
So refreshing to experience in this day and age.

i've left my box for two weeks to develop mycelium and nothing has developed sadly despite my best efforts in following the instructions

the three stars is mainly because i've been trying to make an account or recover a potentially old account on the website and just keep seeing "error occured" with no explanation to what the error was, i'm trying to access the extra support 🥲

Liked the service I received in choosing the right mushrooms for my wife. The instructions seemed easy but unfortunately we have not been able to grow any mushrooms.
To be fair to the company we thought we would give it some time to see if mushrooms would appear. I have not asked what we are doing wrong, that is our fault not theirs.

Great service. The first batch of spawn I had didn't work and Alice in customer service gave some great tips to try and resolve that and when it failed was very helpful in getting a second kit sent out. Looking forward to the first crop!!

Excellent after sales service, I managed to lose my spawn voucher and as the kit was a present did not have the order/shipment confirmation details, but Alice at Urban Farm it has kindly arranged a spawn delivery FOC and also forwarded their latest use details. looking forward to the first crop !

I was given a box at Christmas, but couldn't find the voucher to claim the mycelium. I contacted the customer service and had an instant resolution. Very nice person at the other end, she got the package in the post and was delivered the next day.

Given as a gift and spawn arrived very quickly. Incubating at the moment but very excited to be growing my own Pink Oysters!
