Not wholly fit for purpose

My first purchase of an Urth product, a CPL Plus+ camera lens filter. Although my fist impressions were good in terms of quality, packaging etc, it’s the only filter I’ve ever bought that when fitted to the lens, you can’t get the lens hood on as the filter is approx 1mm larger than the maximum diameter of the lens itself. This limits its usefulness significantly and although not necessarily a deal breaker, had I known, I would have stuck with one of the many alternative brands I’ve bought before, none of which I’ve had this issue with. This will remain my only purchase from Urth. Disappointing.

I bought lens filters at a fair price…

I bought lens filters at a fair price point, and a really good quality. The filters ordered as one, came as two packages, which was only strange thing there. Delivery time about 4 and 6 days, might be improved, but okay. One filter called cir pol + ND was to my surprise a two in one filter that I would find no use of. So I wrote to costumer service which reacted quickly, gave me the value as a voucher to by a regular cir pol filter, and then instructed me to return the other filter. It costed me about 18 Euros though, still I could have paid more notice to the details in the descriptions. The quality of the filters I think is all good and legit, and photos stand out more. I found the custumer service to be there and reacting quite quick and being eager to help. Would I bye again. Probably, but then again how many filters do one need?

I ordered a 13/14" Laptop Sleeve

I ordered a 13/14" Laptop Sleeve, the quality of the item felt pretty bad and it was not worth the 55€ it costs. So I wanted to return it. Then they sent me the shipping adress and I have to pay the return (over 10€) by myself. I looked up if it's written on the website but I didn't find anything about taking the costs by myself. Never ever order directly in the shop unless you are 1000% sure you won't return it. It feels a little bit like to be scamed...

Urth Glass Cleaning kit

My wife bought me an Urth Glass Cleaning kit for Xmas...when I unwrapped it, I could not open the case zip past the top corner. When I eventually forced the case open, it was evident that the inner lining had been fitted poorly, in such a way as to impede the zip on that corner. My wife contacted Amazon first as she had bough the item from them, but they did not want to know and referred us back to Urth. She contacted Urth support and got a long apology in reply which suggested the case may have been damaged in transit. Not so, and we replied with another email explaining the zip problem was an issue of poor quality workmanship. Urth then requested a photo of the problem - we sent them 3 photos that clearly showed the corner lining that was causing the issue. They simply replied that they could not replace the case and again apologised for the problem.
Their support agents seem to work from a pre-composed support script and anything outside that script is ignored. Rather than just apologise for a faulty case, and offer either a refund or replacement, they turned it into a lengthy saga and a frustrating experience. They did offer a 15% discount on a new order, which I rejected. I will make do with the case by breaking the zip and using the contents...and I will never buy from Urth again.

Update 9/01/24 I have now received a replacement Cleaning Kit from Urth, which is much appreciated. Just a shame that it I had to wait so long, and they made it so difficult, to get a replacement for a faulty product. The key is "be persistent"...they can provide good customer care but you have to force them into it!

Horrible experience

Waited 10 days for my order before emailing them to find out it has never been sent. I was then told it had been sent and delivered (it had not), they couldn't provide any evidence it had been sent. many emails later and I received my order. Upon opening the package I discovered the lands adapter had been opened and used, covered in finger prints and dust.

Virkelig virkelig langsom leveringstid, bestilte mandag kl. 08, modtager først en uge efter kl. 22 om aftenen, meget underligt tidspunkt. De skriver selv 2-5 dages levering på den normale leveringstid, som var den jeg valgte. De skriver så at oveni det har de 12-48 timers "order processing", så kan primært ikke anbefale dem pga. dette og at kundesupporten ikke var særlig forstående for min situtation. Produkterne er ganske fin kvalitet. Men den leveringstid i 2023 er ringe, de sender også igennem Amazon, på trods af man bestiller direkte igennem deres website.

Bad return/refund policy ...

The product has a good quality and well packed. My 1 star goes to the customer services. Once you buy what you really want and are happy with that is ok. Good for you, however if you need a return/refund that's where the problem starts.

I made a purchase on the 17 August 2023, received in due time, however the strap is smaller than it make an impression from the photos on their website so I requested a refund. 15 email later they still can not help me with that. When I go to the return page in their website, the product is greyed out so I can not clink on it to start the process, and no one reply my emails any further.

Probably I paid to learn not to buy there again.

Amazed

Amazed. Ordered at 22:25 and the next day it arrived. Which is the second time they deliver that fast to me.

Quality is similar to more expensive brands and I do appreciate using metal instead of plastic. Planting trees is a bonus.

Will buy again.

I received my camera strap after four…

I received my camera strap after four days which was really nice, although it was sent though Amazon which is a little less nice. However, the product is very nice looking and works perfectly. The customer support was also very helpful when i contacted them regarding a question of delivery

I received a faulty item and customer…

I received a faulty item and customer support emailed me back very quickly with a sympathetic email and asked for evidence which I sent over. They replied and sent a full refund the next day and were very understanding. What a breath of fresh air that a company is supportive of their customers!

I got my bag and I’m very disappointed…

I got my bag and I’m very disappointed with the build quality it started falling apart after just 2 weeks, I’ve had the bag for almost 3 months and I’ve messaged them on instagram and
Since then nobody has gotten back to me to find a solution for all
The issues with my bag.

The strap doesn’t stay so you always have to keep re-adjusting the straps when you walk. The zips aren’t good quality and it really isn’t worth the £190 I paid for it.

I wanted to give them a chance to remedy the situation because I believe in supporting smaller businesses that focus on sustainability but these guys don’t care about customer service and they don’t deserve your money

A very positive experience.

I'm surprised to see the negative reviews, but I won't question them.
However, my experiences with Urth have been positive. I've purchased from Urth twice, both times a lens adapter (Leica M to Nikon Z and M39 to Nikon Z respectively), and will be purchasing from them again.

I will focus on three aspects that are important to me, being quality of the product, customer service, and general experience of/with the company.

The quality is good, at least when it comes to the two adapters I've purchased from them. My main concern with adapters is whether they are machined correctly, so the lens will both have a tight fit and not be misaligned when adapted to the camera. Urth's adapters live up to this requirement and I've never had any issues with the two adapters. The lenses sit fit and aligned correctly.
Another concern is of course the quality of the adapters, and for both adapters I can say that I have absolutely no worries when it comes to the quality of the adapters. I've had the one adapter for close to two years, and it's still as new.

The second aspect is the question of customer service. I had a chance to experience what level of customer service Urth offers with my latest order because of issues with the shipping. If you buy internationally and with standard shipping you are informed that you should expect up to 22 days of shipping. This wasn't an issue with the first purchase, the adapter arrived fast, within two weeks. The second one did have issues, and even 26 days after the order was placed I still hadn't received the adapter. This was frustrating, since I needed it for a special shoot. I talked with Cloie, who informed me that - after having talked with her managers - if I still hadn't received the adapter the following Monday (the week later) they would either send me a new adapter or refund me in full. I waited and when I hadn't received any notifications Monday morning, I prepared myself to contact them. I didn't have to though, Cloie wrote me before I had the chance to write them, and informed me that the adapter finally had arrived and that they would refund me a 10% refund as compensation for the experience.

I want to comment on this. I have many years of customer support experience. First, when a product is shipped, the company has no control over what is going on. The only thing they can do is to ask for patience, and when the conclusion is that the product has been lost, to send a new product or give a refund. This is the basic expectation for customer service, but even this isn't fulfilled by most companies for some reason. Normally - because the amount of customers - the customer him/herself is expected to get back to the company when the agreed upon waiting period has passed. But to Cloie's credit, she didn't wait for me to contact them back, she made sure to stay updated on my inquiry. That is a very positive experience.
The second part to this is that when companies give a compensation, as was done in my case, normally that is done in order to drive more sales, that is, the customer is promised a discount on the next order. This is done in order to "correct" the bad experience. Many people will decide against ordering from a place, where they have had a bad experience. The fact that Cloie gave me a refund on the order I've already ordered means that a) they consider my experience and frustration over future sales, and b) they trust in their products. This does turn the whole experience around for me, and because of this I'm not considering whether I'll order from Urth again, I've decided to do so, simply because I know that I can trust them to consider my experience before sales and profit.

Finally, my general impression with Urth is very positive. I like that they are environmentally aware and wish to express this positively through planting trees based on sales of their products (of course, how much this helps on the climate changes can be discussed, but personally - no matter what - I do like to see more trees be planted, so it's a plus for me). But also their magazine and art sections on their website show that they are concerned beyond just selling products. They want to inspire, and I think it's important to be more than just a shop selling products, when it comes something like photography. Also, these two aspects make me want to order directly from them, rather than from for example B&H Photography (the price would have been the same, the shipping a bit cheaper I think).

So all in all, a very positive experience with Urth (and particularly with Cloie, who showed concern and interest) and I can strongly recommend them. At least, I will be using them again.

Unserious business, avoid!

Beware! This company ships their product through Amazon, without disclosing it. The order I placed was never fulfilled and this was over a month ago. They still refuse me a refund, stating they can’t do anything… absolutely irresponsible and fraudulent behavior. Would avoid this company at all costs.

Ordered a Pentax to Sony lens adapter. The package arrived, but the box was empty, with no adapter inside. Worst buying experience ever. Avoid this seller!
