Used for a holiday home purchase, Harvey Harding our solicitor & his team went above and beyond and always on hand to deal with any queries either via phone or email that I had raised. Everyone we interacted with were friendly, approachable and excellent communication, super speedy process from start to finish taking just 45 days to complete our purchase. Selling Estate Agents were very impressed with how speedy the sale has gone through. Would highly recommend Harvey and his team at Wilford Smith and would definitely use them again if we were to make another purchase.

Going to court for the first time is incredibly daunting. Having to place your trust in someone else when a family member's future is on the line is terrifying, which is why I am so grateful that Willem and the team at Wilford Smith were recommended to us.

From the very beginning, we received compassion, understanding, excellent communication, and a clear strategy. Throughout the several months that Wilford Smith was involved in our case, I never once felt like we were fighting this battle alone. They never made promises they couldn't keep, but instead always provided a truthful, balanced, and realistic appraisal of our situation.

I have read some of the poorer reviews on here, mainly regarding conveyancing for house sales. To that, I would say: I have bought and sold several houses over the years, and I have yet to find legal representation for conveyancing that ever truly met my expectations! I'm not sure perfect conveyancers even exist.

However, when we needed a team to handle a matter of vital importance with real consequences, I am delighted to say we found the right people. I am incredibly thankful I put my trust in Wilford Smith, and I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Harvey and Benjamin became involved with our conveyancing after the protracted and ineffective involvement of another firm of solicitors. Harvey promised to "pick up the pieces" and take the matter to a speedy conclusion. This is exactly what they did (including responses to E mails at 9 o'clock at night)! Highly professional, fast, effective, and a quick conclusion that we were delighted with. I can not rate them highly enough.
If you have a legal need, these are the people to go with.

Great experience with Team Michelle!

Phone is always answered, emails replied to usually same day - which is quite often not the case as shown with our experience with our vendors solicitor.
I was always on the phone to Michelle's team or via email to keep the case moving and following the progress. I never got radio silence despite my endless follow ups. We waited 6 weeks for a response to our enquiries from another solicitor with Michelle replying in less than 20 minutes when they finally came through. We are now hopefully at end stages of our purchase, so the team wont have me bothering them for too much longer but I truly appreciate their quick responses and chasing of other solicitors for us.

I've used many firms to refinance my property portfolio and can honestly say I will use these guys again. They were attentive and responsive getting the deal over the line swiftly. As a solicitor myself I have used firms who are very pedantic, slow and unresponsive. Not these guys very professional and compliant without the frustration I've dealt with before.

Elissa and Caitlin are honestly the best solicitors I have ever had. They were incredibly informative, approachable and understanding throughout the entire process.

Due to our purchase being a probate property, there were constant delays, and I know we probably weren’t the easiest clients because we were always chasing for updates. Despite this, they were patient, proactive and constantly followed things up on our behalf, keeping us informed every step of the way.

I genuinely couldn’t believe how reasonably priced they were compared to the outstanding quality of service they provided. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and they made what could have been an incredibly stressful experience so much easier.

Spends more time managing reviews than doing actual work.

I engaged Wilford smith to do the conveyancing on a house sale in September 25. The service throughout the process was embarrassing really. I was assigned to team 7 (Jacqui). Tried to contact via phone many, many times. On each occasion the girl on reception would advise no one is available, can she pass on a message, and they’ll get back to me (which they never did). Complete radio silence as to where we were at with the sale. Avoid these absolute jokers at all costs.

The sale did eventually fall through after around 5 months. Zero contact from the solicitor to let me know what was going on. Was asked if I’d like to keep the file open for the next time the house sold….errrr no thanks!

Amazing experience when buying our new home. They handled everything in relation to the legal side of selling ours and buying the new. Extremely responsive, clear and painless process. Paul Fitzsimmons as the initial contact got everything set up for us and Elissa and team did their bit perfectly. Highly recommend!!

BE WARNED ABOUT THIS SOLICITOR.
I (I am the assignor) engaged Wilford Smith Solicitors to process a straight forward shop lease assignment. The first contact was with their sales person, he did a very good pitch about how Wilford Smith provides a high level of service and cared about clients/customers etc., but do not be fooled by all his talk, does not match the service. The service they provided was terrible.
I was assigned their Head of Commercial Conveyancing to do the job. At the start of the process I gave the solicitor the Heads of Terms. She completely ignored it, as a result the sale contract which should have been implemented at the start of the process was only done at the end, in the completion week; a deposit which should have been paid by the assignee at the start of the process was not collected by her, leaving me at considerable financial risk during the assignment. She ignored many of my emails and telephone calls which created an atmosphere of poor communication. As a result many mistakes were made, I found her incompetent and disrespectful. I made many complaints to the boss of the firm but nothing improved. Eventually a messy completion took place, months late. I did not get any legally executed completion documents from Wilford Smith and also no statement of account for the fees I paid.
In the end, I had to engage another solicitor to make sure completion had legally taken place and to get me the relevant completion documents.
I have made a formal complaint to the Legal Ombudsman which is being processed. BEWARE OF THIS SOLICITOR

Really, the worst the company I have ever dealt with. Full of promises to get your business but then the worst ever service. No communication. Long delays. Wasted over a month dealing with this company, only to be told that they won't deal with us. So we lost money and paid for searches which another solicitor won't touch.

Joanne, Ryan and the team were really helpful throughout the Conveyancing process. Good communication when required and fast turnaround. Very happy with the completion time.

Acted for us in a property sale and did an excellent and efficient job. Good communication, friendly and thorough. Really good value too.

I instructed Wilford Smith in February 2025 to handle the sale of a property. Twelve months later the sale has collapsed, We have lost the buyer, and we are starting from scratch. This is not bad luck. This is the direct result of the firm's failures at every level.

Documents were not acted upon for over five months. During that time I sent repeated emails and made over one hundred calls. Not one call was ever returned. At one point the firm sent only three emails in eighty days on an active conveyancing transaction.

The file was passed between seven different handlers in twelve months. None of them were adequately briefed. One handler did not know who I was seven months into the transaction. A Legal Assistant was left to manage complex legal work she admitted in writing she did not know how to progress, without any qualified supervision.

The solicitor ultimately assigned to the file admitted to me on a recorded call that he had done nothing on the matter for weeks, having previously implied work was being done. He was also unaware the sale had already collapsed. We were never told my sale had fallen through.

I followed the firm's own complaints procedure and submitted a formal complaint. It was not acknowledged within the timeframe stated in their own policy. When a response eventually came, it was a single paragraph denying everything without addressing a single specific issue

I subsequently submitted a Subject Access Request under UK GDPR to understand how my matter had been handled internally. One month later it has not been acknowledged either.

To anyone considering instructing this firm — please do your research first.

I can only imagine again that they will report the review as I have noticed is typically done to have it removed.
