Wilkie's Eyecare and Jewellers Avis 

The appointment was with a lovely girl that I have never had who had some chat and explained everything well for me as we went through the test. Faultless! Also no hard sell on new glasses given prescription hasn't changed dramatically and not a desperate need for them - also I explained I will be getting elsewhere as in the past.

I’ve been using Wilkie’s for a number of years now & have always had a good experience with both my Eyecare & staff who are always attentive, friendly & professional.

I have been on medication that has known side effects to vision. Catherine Aldridge - has monitored this over the last 2 years, this has been reassuring. I was also assessed to have early signs of macular degeneration by a previous optician. Catherine was able to assess and explain it is not a sign of macular degeneration, but in layman’s terms a bit of a wrinkle - Catherine took time to explain this and show me on the scan. Keeping track of this is also very reassuring as my mother suffered macular degeneration. That’s why I travel nearly an hour from Glasgow for my eye tests -

I have attended for many years and over the years the same consistent care and service has been offered.

Everything explained very clearly and options for potential changes to my contact lens explained. I would have no hesitation in recommending them. I have seen several different opticians over the decades as a customer, and the service from all has been excellent. You can make an appointment to see a specific optician if you wish.

I made an appointment as I felt there were some issues with my eyes in relation to developing cataracts. The optician was very nice and listened very carefully to my description of the problem and noted everything. She then then fully explained the situation and reassured me. She carried out further tests to rule out anything more sinister and that was reassuring too. Finally she explained all the options and after a discussion where I did not feel rushed and could talk through the issues, the appropriate advice was given and referrals made. I always find that I get great service and am never rushed. It might be cheaper occasionally at some of the chains but I'd far rather go local and you probably also get what you pay for. My eyes are too important to skimp on.
