Disgusting company who made a mistake and blamed us. Thousands of lots purchased a year at auction. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and we have dealt with most of them.

I made a mistake on bidding on items…
I made a mistake on bidding on items and I spent £400. Their policy is no returns, I reached out to Hannah in the customer service dept and she kindly took ownership of the issue and managed to refund me. Great service with a heart.

I did read all of Willam George's FAQ's before joining an auction as it did put my mind at ease, as everything is covered in the sections and easy to understand, any doubts or questions the team are willing to help if needed.
My experience is read up the write up for the auction as it's very upfront regarding the items within, if it's collection only or can arrange delivery through companies William George suggest in there FAQ'S if needs be.
I'm still waiting for the items I won in my auction as I paid the seller for delivery on the 7th October and had no update regarding it, so I got intouch through webchat to find out what was going on,
( You do get will bot at first but he does connect you to someone if you need to) I was connected to Ellie, I provided the information I had and rather than letting me hang about in the chat she would email hopefully in the afternoon with a update 11:41am I left the chat and a email came through at 12:21pm saying the items where in transit, so I cannot thank Ellie enough, going above and beyond.
I'll be back that's for sure 😊

Do your homework before you bid
William George customer services are excellent. I bought some items at the beginning of September (shopping early for xmas) and I contacted them to ask about postage which cost more than the items but was still a bargain. I paid just over £125 all in for goods worth £400. Always check the description as some lots are graded. Always ask the shipping fee and any other costs. If there's anything your not sure about just contact them. The customer services are friendly and answer emails quickly. The delivery took ages and I had to phone repeatedly but that was down to the delivery company. I'd definitely buy from William George again.

Not fussed at all with this buy from sales room this site is linked to it. No way speaking to someone on phone via robot link. Then told have arrange delivery with someone after you bought item. Sorry service not me. On sales room you buy with other auction sites they sort delivery etc wouldn’t recommend William George

Overall Update - TAT!
Final update. Disappointingly Tat!! Waste of money, time and effort.
5 toasters all broken. 3 kettles all broken 3 microwaves at least 2 broken, no heart to check the other Several irons 4 broken others defective. (3 salvaged) Bin filthy as used with dents on lid....blah blah blah....
its high volume of damaged unsalvaged goods as other reviews.

However, after confirming my address for consignment delivery and stating the correct address on the form, the consignment has been shipped to another address.
I only realised when I looked to track the delivery (which also shows no information)
No idea of timescale for delivery.
Just to clarify my original comment above and response below. I did not provide any incorrect details. However it appeared incorrect on the delivery ticket. Admin error. If I had not noticed, this would have been a bigger problem. RESOLVED

Goods? Not so sure.... ideally grading pallets ABC clearly on manifest would be helpful. I may have missed it. Fair bit of spares and repairs or seriously over used dirty items. Based on other reviews, I would say part with your cash wisely.

Unfortunately 90% rubish
I purchased one pallet of items of almost £1600. Customer service was great, all went smooth. Unfortunately I am deeply dissapointed that 90% of my items are...completely damaged. I agreed that there might be faulty items but as advice you should as the retailers to have a lover percentage of faulty items. I don't find it normal to pay this amount of money for a pallet of items which they should write off and pass directly to recycling. Such a shame you seem to be a great company!

I have just purchased 8 items of furniture via the auctions in the William George Auction Site . However another company called AJB Auctions ( who call themselves a vendor of William George ) was responsible for the items .
May I say avoid these auction like the plague ..let me explain
The items arrived in a shambolic state on 3 pallets .
One of the items had been dismantled to aid the packaging and the bollts which were removed were put in a plastic box without any information .
All the nuts and bolts for two items were missing and I cannot find a supplier for the bolts on one item . They were manufactured in China and no one can help me.
6 leg parts were missing and despite spending some time I cannot find replacements . For the record it is a Hartington Spirit corner set .
A table had a damaged corner , the bamboo was cut and frayed.
3 cushions were missing
I spoke to Kurt from AJB auctions and he declined to help as he said '' we do not have time to check the items and told me to read the terms in the sale ''.I explained that this should be marked more clearly and not small print to hide behind . I can only say that I would advise anyone to steer clear of these auctions so they do not end in the same position as me .
May I say as a little counter balance some of the items purchased were okay.

I deal with a number of other auction sites who could learn a lot from William George.

Never thought it will be so easy
Never thought it will be so easy, lots directly from WG are great and process is smooth.
Some third party sellers can be a bit pain but WG is always here to help and accommodate your needs.
Customer service is always very great and responsive. You won’t have to wait few days just for reply.

Extremely Disappointed
Let me firstly say the staff are excellent
I have previously had some excellent items from William George (some not so good). However I think I have been caught out in the last couple of auctions
The previous to yesterday, I bought a rattan settee along with other things. Upon getting it home I found that the settee was fine but the cushions were sunbleached and dirty, they had been put in bin bag liners
I have just brought home an office chair which had damaged box, upon opening it there is the chair the floor support minus the castors. There is no sign of the gas lift or the connection to attach the chair to the gas lift.
whoever is putting these items in the boxes must have some idea, shouldn't they itemise this prior to putting them in a box. I can accept there might be some damage, but this is blatantly misleading by whoever is reboxing them.
It has certainly put me off future purchases.
It would be better for me to throw money out the window and save the journey to Goole

William George is a bit of a find. A small client-centered online auction with extraordinary personalised service to buyers and sellers. This is particularly valuable to people like me who are not tech wizards. The staff at WG are always quick to assist in all manner of issues. Nothing gets past them.
