Disgusting company who made a mistake and blamed us. Thousands of lots purchased a year at auction. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and we have dealt with most of them.

One of the very best
We use a lot of auction sites to acquire items for both our own use but also our charity and WG are hands down one of the very best.
To anyone using online auction sites, these guys plus CWH and AW (I will use initials to avoid advertising their competitors) are the three absolute professionals we have dealt with - always good items as described and amazing customer service. Avoid using Notts-based auctioneers but these guys are the real deal and the very best.

Online auctions are always a gamble
Online auctions are always a gamble. You know that you take a chance when you bid on something you can’t physically check. With this in mind, if you decide to bid, do your own research. Remember the add on costs, so bid wisely. I have found that William George give an honest description based upon what the seller/owner tells them, just like a ‘normal’ auction. I have always had concerned and helpful responses to any queries. You won’t find that at every auction site! I am satisfied that delivery charges are fair and honest and delivery is usually quick. All in all, if you are going to bid online, William George is one of the safer sites to use.

I recently won a pallet or returns from William George after seeing an Emily Canham video.
I expect some of it to be rubbish but was willing except that but Like Emily I could not be happier with my items.
£650 for over £5000 worth of Kitchen appliance and they all work 😃

William George are not an auction house…
William George are not an auction house in the normal sense. They neither see, receive or dispatch the item you have bid on. Its like Ebay but without the protection, these are just middlemen skimming a profit. If you win something and the seller isnt happy with the hammer price, the seller can just state the item is no longer available and you have to go through the refund process. As mentioned in various other post here, dont bother trying to ring them, you get an automated message saying "all our staff are working from home". Probably best avoided

I have had many great experiences with…
Update: STAY AWAY - they even try to remove negative reviews to make themselves look better.
William George tried to have my review removed because it was negative. Dispite replying to my review and insinuating and inferring I was a nasty person for having an opinion on my experience, they tried to invalidate the review by saying to trust pilot I was not a verified customer. This was easily proven by an invoice.
Thank you trust pilot for not just deleting my review and remaining checking facts.
They are neither trust worthy as a vendor but instead of correcting their mistakes, try to have all negative responses removed!!
trust pilot is a very trustworthy platform, you can trust the negative reviews are TRUE!
I have had many great experiences with other auction houses, but this one - even with a rebrand can not change the fact they are VERY crooked and not transparent.
STAY AWAY! They have NO CONTACT NUMBER. It tells you to use a chat which is manned by the same person (they dont even send you a transcript) (A foul woman - who does not seem to read, and if she does, she must have failed at comprehension as her responses don't even answer what you asked *chuckle* bless her. Not for me to judge, but I would advise them to find a better sales rep who deals with emails).
I lost trust in them, so I asked for a bid on a lot to be removed (In advance, four days, from an auction that is yet to conclude), they said no. This is strange because every other auction house I have dealt with has been more than happy to comply, ESPECIALLY if I was in a bidding war, which I was at this point. Unless the auction house is bidding itself (which I think is the case in this instance), it is not a problem for them.
It is a SMALL auction house, so you will NOT get your money back as every penny counts for them. I cannot stress the importance of using a credit card to be able to claim money back from a misrepresented lot.
The auction house takes pictures of brand new items and advertises them as brand new, only to extend the auction conclusion. At this point, they change the description to used, the auction then closes, and you end up with items they classify as used but are only good for spares and repairs, you tell them, and they say the description (which has now been changed) says what it says. They do not give you any other imagery except a brand new picture.
ALWAYS take screenshots when you bid on something of the description AND picture together; it will help your case when you have a dispute.
STAY AWAY! Use a bigger trusted auction house and use a CREDIT CARD to protect yourself. If they do not accept credit cards....DO NOT BUY!
Side note, just an enquiry seems to qualify you for many spam emails :S. If you like giving your data away, sign up for William George!
I hope you have better luck than I did.
Edited response to wg: as you all can read, they copy and paste their response as they have the same rhetoric for EVERY negative review. They never labelled the auction was raw return.
Which is it? you have redacted a bid from me or you can not, because I was told every time you could not hence my irritation and not trusting you. As people can now see you do things when and only when it suits you. As long as they cheat you, the out come was handled well in their eyes, never mind, just don’t use them.
I have not insulted anyone, i simply observed - if a question is answered with a wrong answer, Is that due to a failing in comprehension or not reading the email, hence I will not judge and leave you to pick a logical answer.
I’m reference to the system being the same for all, it seems they have favoured clients if one minute they can redact bids and other occasions not as they seem to have highlighted, it is possible to have a bid removed. Thank you for making that clear.
Conclusion:
All they do is put the ohnus on you instead of actually delivering a good service.

I have just started bidding with William George after been recommended by a friend and have found my first amazing bargain. However I had a little issue with shipping so I used the chat function and got through to Simone who was amazing at reassuring me I hadn’t bought a pallet of sideboards and what I needed to do to arrange my collection. Very quick and easy and although it was an automated chat Simone was very personable and efficient! Thanks!!

Not Fit For Purpose
I am having a very bad experience with william George auctions. I purchased an office armchair at a recent auction and it was described as used.
When the chair was delivered it was still in pristine condition and clearly never been used because it was missing an arm rest and 3 caster wheels. The arm rest is needed to secure the back rest.
The packing note with the items was marked up in red biro to say these items were missing.
The chair is not fit fit purpose and william George and the third part vendor AJ B auction refuse to refund or take the chair back.
I am still trying to obtain a refund but I would be very wary of buying anything from this auction house.
Who can we trust ?
Basically, William George and AJ B auction houses are using "get out terms and conditions" tucked away in the small print on the website to sell of items that are not fit for purpose. This is morally wrong and taking money from unsuspecting bidders who are bidding in good faith and trust in the auction house.

Terrible experience over delivery not resolved lost money and items! Seems like Simone is the only person who actually resolves problems not customer service.
And stay away from AJB goole they will charge you silly amounts for cheap items to get delivered! What a terrible experience all round.

Refund quickly issued
Hi,
Just a short note of appreciation and thanks to Simone Quinn for her handling of a refund regarding a non delivery of an item recently purchased at an online auction.
Contact was maintained at all times and a refund was speedily issued to my account.
A big thank you too to Patrick Cassidy who handled the Bank charges element of the the transaction.
A job well done.
Many Thanks
Dominic Williams.

AJB Auctions through William George
Brought an item through this Auction House. A partner Auction Company AJB Auctions use this platform.
I got charged £15 for postage when it actually costs less than £4 to post. Package was poorly wrapped (must have taken less than 5 mins to wrap) Less than 12inch x 12inch, weighed 250 grams.
Totally ripped off for postage and packing.
Never buy through AJB Auctions unless you physically pick the item up.

Amazing service
I purchased 2 wedding dresses and 4 prom dresses recently at auction. The whole process was slick from start to finish.
As soon as the auction was over my invoice was issued and I asked for postage. I explained I wasn’t in a rush so I didn’t mind waiting till the shipping was sorted.
It was at this point that the staff came into their own esp the fabulous gentleman I dealt with. He went out of his way to get the dresses to me and couldn’t have been more helpful.
The dresses arrived in fantastic condition, everyone nicer than the previous.
