I took out insurance for my daughter while she was learning to drive on her provisional licence. At the time, they were very competitive and the initial price seemed good.
However, once she passed her test, the revised quote was extremely expensive compared with other providers. We decided to cancel, but then ended up paying approximately 80% of the annual cost in cancellation and admin fees, despite only using the cover for around six weeks.
I accept it was partly my responsibility for not reading the small print fully, but I was disappointed by the lack of empathy or understanding from the team when we queried it.
Based on my experience, I wouldn’t use them again.

Great experience from start to finish
Great experience from start to finish. Amy called me the minute they opened on the day of my son’s test to potentially change him from Prov to full licence holder. Thankfully it was good news and we got him covered asap so he could drive to school! Really competitive price. Very happy

Customer loyalty means ZERO
Customer loyalty means ZERO. I had been a customer of A Choice for many years, never questioned my renewal. However our lease car was due to go back to the lease company so we decided to buy the same car we leased. I phoned A Choice and advised them that my policy is due to expire on the 10th June and I would need to remove my Kia that we lease and replace the policy with the same car. Renewal price on current Kia £621 for the yr , to remove lease car and add new car £799 for the year. A choice explination '' premuim is more because you are buying a car you are not used to driving'' ITS THE SAME CAR!
Needless to say I searched online and obtained a new policy for £529 for the year. Greedy, and don't care about customer loyalty.
No thanks Kate , what is the point when I have started a new policy.

Many insurers provide discounts based on the number of years a customer has owned their car. If the DVLA shows the vehicle as recently purchased, the discount for ownership years may not apply.

I was lucky enough to have my issue resolved today by a lovely lady called Julia Parker, she went above and beyond to ensure I did not incur any extra charges, and that I was happy with my policy, and for this reason I am happy to stay as a customer! No customer service
This is the 3rd time in two months I've had to contact them to make a simple change to a policy.
each time I've been on hold for 30 mins or more before even speaking to someone.It's shocking. I run a business with 70 staff and this is my valuable time. Still waiting.....

Was charged nearly £100 3 weeks after…
Was charged nearly £100 3 weeks after cancelling to cancel my provisional license insurance once I passed even though the policy would have been invalid anyway.
