From start to finish (and beyond tbh), this lot have been first rate.
I bought a bike in the Spring. I'm not a bike guy but do like cycling, so I came to them hoping for professional advice and got it spades. The bike I chose online was ready on time, picked up easily and rode perfectly, straight out of the box. The free service after a few months of riding was also well received.
What makes this lot stand out has been the aftercare. Bikes are fairly complicated machines these days, so there have been a few teething issues, and every time, the people in Customer Service have been brilliant. As an example, I called today because I'd lost a reflector on one of the pedals and 5 minutes later I had a new set of upgraded pedals being sent to me FOC!
Buying a bike is a big purchase. Knowing that the people you buy it from are in your corner is priceless and I really can't fault Balfes in this regard. If you're thinking of buying a bike from them, I'd do it. They're ace.

First Road Bike
Fantastic customer service from Simon who supported me in deciding on my first road bike for my first triathlon. Talked me through the differences in each of the Liv models and found a bike which actually fits me (I'm 5ft1) and is such a comfortable ride. Simon took the time to fit me on the bike, sorted a test ride and advised on additional products. A great experience!

Bought 2 nutrak 700c 19-25c presta…
Bought 2 nutrak 700c 19-25c presta tubes. Both have punctured. The first I discovered the leak immediately while putting it on (I got it replaced)and the second has punctured a week later. Both punctures were on seams on the tube. Terrible quality from my experience. I have now replaced with Conti tubes at half the price.
