Balfe's Bikes - Gatwick Home Delivery Avis 

I have bought many bikes over the years (probably too many) at different bike shops, and the experience with Balfe’s has been one of the most underwhelming along with Halfords.

It felt as though the bike was built in a rush, with different parts that needed to be adjusted. Special mention goes to the incorrect installation of the rear derailleur, which was rubbing against the inside of the chainstay and left a mark on the new carbon frame. Fortunately, I fixed it before riding it, but the consequences of riding it in such conditions could have been much worse.

I wrote Balfe’s bikes explaining the problem, but the only answer I got from them was that they “received the feedback”, not even an apology.

I might have been unlucky, but given the experience, I would not buy it again even if the price was lower than at other places.

Slight delay in delivery time in respect to original estimate but customer service responded promptly to inquiries and my mtb fork arrived very well packaged and complete with accessories. Price was a genuine bargain too so happy overall with balfes and would shop there again.

Balfes offered the best cycle to work scheme service compared to other retailers, including honouring full end of season bike pricing and free delivery. Pre sales service was good, they held the bike on deposit until my scheme voucher was issued over a month later.

Purchased some cycling shoes. Wasn't 100% sure on size so ordered 2 pairs of different sizes.

Order came quickly. Well packaged. Sent the wrong size item back. Sorting this was super easy and notification the had received it on the Monday. I only posted on the Friday.

Great pricing - I bought a 2026 model Scott bikewith a significant reduction. Buying was easy, delivery was quicker that expected the comms throughout were good. The bike arrived with a bit of damage, probably done during transit, but when I complained the response was quick and positive. I will buy again from Balfe's without hesitatipon.

Delivery was arranged promptly, unfortunately no-one was in but Balfe’s quickly arranged a follow-up delivery within a few days. Excellent customer service.
